Does anyone have gastritis and did the sleeve? If so how did it change or did it get better or worse? The doctor did an endoscopy and said I have gastritis. I also have Gerd. I am going to have surgery soon and would like to know if anyone had it and how there doing?
Thank you!

I want to back out I’m so scared of having my SVG surgery in 2 days. My doctor is going to be upset at me. I have Gerd now and I’m afraid to have it later. I don’t want to go through another surgery afterwards. If I were to do the sleeve would I need another surgery 10 to 20 years down the line?

yes there is scar tissue around the lapband. My docter told me this. However they do not remove that and it stays around your stomach. It eventually shrinks, but I've never heard if anyone removing that. I sometimes still get stuck episodes and my docter says its from the scar tissue.

My docter removes at least 4 implants per week due to silicone implant illness.

hello, I removed my lapband last year. I still had the same symptems and this year about a month ago I removed my breast implants. I am feeling much better. Yes you can have breast implant illness silicone toxicity. Google breast implant illness and check the symptoms compare it to yours. I went to a specialist he removed the capsules around the implants. My implants were removed and they gave it to me it has alot of particles inside if the Water. My implants were sweating into my body and causing symptoms. If you have any question I will be happy to answer. I can also refer you my docter.

I had my band for 4 years after having issues and problems( toxic silicone syndrome) my doctor suggested I remove it and revise to gastric sleeve. The day of surgery I backed out on the sleeve because it's irreversible and I was afraid I would have the same symptoms of the band. I removed the band 3 weeks ago and can't eat much I have been in liquids and mostly Protein diet. I keep getting stuck with regular food. I lost around 13 pounds. But I have been so depressed and been having panic attacks with anxiety attacks. Don't know why this is happening it just comes on uncontrollably. My body is reacting so weird. Had this happened to anyone? If so, please give me insight will it go away or what's causing this?

Take stole softner. Don't let it get to that point were you have a hard time. Been there and it was the most horrible pain/experience in my life. If you haven't gone in 10 days you need to get relief asap.

I had the same exact issues a few months after I got the lapband. Went to so many doctors test after test . They couldn't diagnose me exact but I had all the symptoms of lupus. Two weeks ago I removed my band. So far all symptoms are gone. Remove your band if you feel you got these issues after the band. It could be silicone toxicity.

Chances are it's only gas. That's what it feels like shoulder pain. It takes a while for the gas to go away.

It's the Protein that causes Constipation. Take citrate liquid the one you took before surgery. Don't let it get to that point were you suffer. I have been there and it's horrible.

I had the same symptoms but I just that it was something else then couldn't take it anymore removed my band to see if its associated with it. It's all gone now. Then I read about sylicone toxicity and every symptoms fits the discribtion.

I have to tell you...I backed out last minute and took out my band and didn't do the sleeve. I read both good and bad about the sleeve but didn't know exactly what to expect. I was afraid to get the acid reflex and weakness that I already had with the band.
Now that a few days passed by I feel guilty as if did I make the right decision. I didn't lose much weight with the band just 30 pounds. The doctor told me that I will regret it later but I was too afraid to do it.

Are you happy with the sleeve? Specially the first few weeks after the surgery?
-
Diet and excersise but I don't know if after the bad that would help maybe my metabolism has gotten slower. So far I'm on a liquid diet until tomorrow. There is always that scared feeling inside not to gain weight you know...
-
My surgeon said I would regret not getting the sleeve because I would gain weight 95% without it. I am over weight by 50 pounds so I didn't want the bypass it's more complicated. The gerd I had wasn't a typical heartburn it was dry mouth, sore throat and bitter taste in my mouth it really effected my life style. It gave me bad breathe too. I hated that feeling.

They will do the surgery as long as you are taking your meds and the blood result comes back that your thyroid is regulated. I have hypothyroid too.

I was due to remove my band and revise to sleeve. Last minute I was so afraid of the non reversible sleeve that I backed out. Today is my 4th day post op and I am feeling kind of guilty as if I should of done the sleeve. I need to lose 50lbs and I am not sure if I will be able to lose weight on my own. At the same time I had so many issues with the band that I was afraid to get into another WLS and create more. My doc said you will regret it later. Also I already had severe gerd with the band. One of the side effects of sleeve is gerd I didn't want to be at risk for esophagus cancer.
Any suggestions would be appreciated? What does everyone think? Would I regret it later?

You know I had the same exact symptoms I had my band installed October 2011 and all my symptoms started January 2012. The doctors thought I have lupus then all kinds of other symptoms. They ran all kinds of tests all came
Back negative. Then I was sent to endocrinologist my I was placed on 50 mg med for hypothyroid. I was healthy before the band and had no issues. My bloodworks shows inflammation but they can't figure out why. So finally I took out my band yesterday and I am doing better all ready. I think I had toxicity from the band.

You should go to my surgeon he is extremely good and he will do it. Nice easy and smooth. He is in Los Angeles.

I had the band for 4 years and severe reflex also indegestion. The doctor told me I should revise to sleeve I have 50 pounds to lose.
Today was my surgery date and I went in very worried that if I did the sleeve I would have more acid reflex and its unreversable procedure. This morning I backed out and removed my band only.
I refused to do the sleeve last minute. I don't know if I did the right thing but I was afraid of getting worse. Now I am hoping I can get back to normal from constant sore throat from the acid and dry mouth also white tongue all caused by my band.

My surgery is 4/14 too and I am
So nervous it makes me sick to the stomach. I am
Not sure if I am
Doing the right thing or how I would feel afterwards. I have a band revising to sleeve.
This liquid diet today is killing me specially the citrate drink

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will keep all of you posted. I just drank that citrate and yuck it's disgusting. I have to be there 5 in the morning. I am exhausted from the liquid diet I had to do for two days prior to surgery.

Hello friends, I am in the process of svg surgery. I was ready until the day of pre op and bariatric class I had to sit through. I kind of felt that years down the line I might have issues and need additional surgery. Not to redo the sleeve because I’m not loosing weight or regaining but for scar tissue or Gerd or other reasons. If there is anyone that has had the sleeve for many years I would love to hear from you. I just want reassurance. I always wonder if 10,15,20 years from now there will be problems and what would happen if I don’t have half of my stomach... The thought of it scares me...it’s an important organ in our body... any information will help.
Thank you!
