  1. Has anyone experienced this. I was driving home from work about two weeks ago and yawned, inhaling really deep. All of a sudden it felt like my diaphram was turning inside out. The pain lasted for about a minute or two. Every since then I only take a few bites of food and start to feel fullness and sliming. I hardly have any fill not even up to 2 cc yet. I can't imagine anything would move out of place just from that, but it really did hurt.

  2. Does anyone have an oscillating vibration exercise machine. We bought one before the band and I am afraid to use it thinking it might cause the band to move. The machine shakes and vibrates your entire body which is supposed to be good for your bone density, circulation and toning.

  3. Had my first fill a couple of weeks ago. Didn't hurt at all, the only thing I had a problem with was the amount the Dr put in. He started with 3cc and I could not tolerate it. Could not get Water down and started hiccuping like crazy. He had to take some out, don't know how much though because I forgot to ask.

  4. Tried a diet coke zero for the first time the other day since being banded. For some reason it tasted awful to me, don't know why. Didn't have a problem with the taste before being banded.

  5. 1/4 cup seems like a really small amount of food. I was banded on Feb 3rd and my Dr. had me on solids about three weeks out. Went for first fill yesterday and he put in 3cc. I could not get Water down. Felt pressure in my chest and started getting the hiccups really bad. He took out some of the fill and the pressure in my chest left and the hiccups stopped almost immediately. I have lost almost 30 lbs since surgery eating a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food 3 times a day. Not a snack person or grazer. I was really surprised I could not tolerate the 3cc. Don't know how much he took out, forgot to ask. I think if you are doing fine without a fill, don't see any reason to get one!

  6. I get first fill in about two weeks. I can pretty much eat anything also, but have been watching how much and what I eat. I have been doing really well until last night. I had such a craving for chips and salsa and gave in. I know I ate more chips than I should have. I'm trying not to feel guilty about it and will just get back on track today.

  7. I have Tricare South, did not have to show that I've been trying to loose weight for the last six months. I did get a letter from my PC though that stated I had tried various weight loss methods with no permanent weight loss and had some co-morbidities.

  8. Sorry to hear about your delay, especially since you started the pre op diet and have to start again. That was the hardest part of this whole thing for me.

Had surgery Feb 3rd and was also worried about getting something since a lot of stuff is going around this time of year. Good luck, March 20 will come fast.

  9. Has anyone been successful loosing weight without doing a lot of strenuous exercise? I was recently banded, but several weeks before being banded I hurt my leg and back. I plan on going to the pool after my incisions heal, but as far as a lot of walking or using exercise equipment, that is out for the time being.

  10. Mine is a few inches above my waistline and slightly off to the right. I told my surgeon the area I needed it to be because I am very shortwaisted and did not want my pant waist to rub against the port. I also had a previous scar there from gallbladder surgery so he ran the port scar along the same scar which I appreciated because it was one less scar showing.

  11. My doctor seemed to lean more towards bypass because weight loss was faster. He said you have to work harder and exercise with band. After going back and forth for several months I opted for the band. Just didn't want my insides rearranged. I know you hear a lot of problems with the band, but I have also heard of a lot of problems down the line with bypass. I guess nothing is perfect.
