  1. Happy New Year to all the sleevers!! Hope everyone is doing well !!

  2. Probably going to step back for awhile. Have to focus on getting where I want to be. I'll check in periodically, wish everyone the best on their journey.

  3. Going to the gym these days as well as walking and working out to my Richard Simmon's Sweatin to the Oldies DVD's....I know I'm old school, but they are a hoot and it's a fun workout when you are home!

  4. 6 weeks out today, broke my stall with a 2 pound loss this week lowering carbs below 40 grams. I felt a little less energy but not too bad, still went on my daily walks and there is a little workout station on campus where I did uppper body work almost everyday this week. I go for a six week post op on Monday, hopefully released to do full body workout at the gym, and interested in knowing where I am with my vitamin levels, etc. So far though, all is well and I look forward to feeling better...

  5. I'm now 5 weeks out from surgery and doing great. My weight loss post surgery is slow, but I am feeling great. Next week I intend to cut my carbs way back and see if that breaks my recent stall. I'm not overly worried, I know this takes patience. I have a six week post-op on 5/21. I am pleased with how the surgery went, hardly any pain, just some discomfort. I took 4 weeks off work, and this was my first week back. Still on a soft diet, can't wait another week or so and I can move...

  6. It's hard to believe that I now have my surgery date of 4/6/12 which is Good Friday. I have my pre-op and meet with anesthesiologist 3/26. Glad I had the 12 week Options class and managed to make so many changes to my diet over time and I stopped drinking with my meals for the last few months, in order to get used to the concept. I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to change my life!!!

  7. A week out from the completion of the Options Pre-Op 12 week program at Kaiser. The next step is referral to a surgeon who will meet with me to discuss and schedule surgery. It seemed like time just flew by...but overall, I am really happy to be finally taking a proactive step in my life toward the healthier me. I'll keep you updated.

  8. One more week and I successfully complete the Options Pre-op program at Kaiser So. Calif. I have a 3" binder just loaded with information, both nutritional and behavioral. I feel that I truly have what I need to succeed once I have my surgery. After completion, I will be referred to the surgeon who will schedule the procedure. I am excited and nervous, but I have the vision of my slimmer self in my mind and I have been doing well losing weight pre-op. We were asked to lose 10% and I have...

  9. Just starting week 8 of 12 of the Options program at Kaiser. Time is flying and the weight loss is slow but steady. I feel great.

  10. I have a Kaiser Options class tonight - Halloween night...I'm actually happy about it. Less candy...more support and group participation!

  11. Made a call to the Kaiser benefits department today and found out I am 100% covered (no co-pay) for my sleeve surgery and hospital stay. I asked the question at the informational meeting and the facilitator said you may have to pay a co-pay and the hospital daily charge co-pay, but they said everyone's benefits are different dependent on the plan your employer has you covered under. I am so relieved! Awesome news!

  12. So far so good. Had my doctor's appointment - one month evaluation and he said that I am doing well and right on target. I feel good and my head is in the right place. My fork too!!

  13. I was thinking about when ever I've had surgery before, when you come out they usually have you on clear liquids for a few days, nothing too crazy to worry about. The new way of eating is gonna take getting used to of course. Perhaps chatting with some that have had the surgery will be helpful? I can picture myself having pureed roasted vegetable soup in the beginning and tasty protein shakes!

  14. Two weeks completed and starting my third week. This week I started running! For years I have just walked and a little voice said, "Run"...and my journey began. Who knew?

  15. Hi -of couse, let's be friends. That's what connecting is all about. I bet you are excited and probably nervous about your upcoming surgery!
