  1. You look GREAT! And btw, i remember when I was brand new to this site I loved reading your posts! (Havent seen ya here in a while, but thats probably because I haven't been as active as I used to be)
  2. It's no big deal. Dont be scared and don't be shy! Ask your doctor all your questions! It's a little pinch, can you handle bloodtests? It's even easier than a bloodtest because you don't see the needle and no blood...
  3. Pain, reflux, vomiting, not being able to keep water down, waking up in the middle of the night with saliva in your mouth...
  4. Wow, so sorry to hear this! What an ordeal.... I hope you feel 100% back to yourself soon...
  5. SO SO glad!! Even though i still have some heartburn, i feel better knowing i got it checked out ! BTW, have you ever heard of getting an unfill the way I got mine? (with the saline spritzing out into the syringe as i drink?)
  6. Ran to doc and he basically put the needle into my port, then I sat up and chugged a glass of water. 3-4 droplets of saline spritzed into the syringe and he said that the water going through my esaphagous forced some saline out of the band. So I hope it's all better now (hard to believe that so little could make a difference...) When I left I still had some lingering heartburn, but he said it's not something that's worrying him- it's probably just irritation.
  7. ((hugs!!)) Thanks missy! I'm glad i'm going to see my doc, but even gladder to have such wonderful friends like you  When he emails me back a time to see him I will go and report back what he says Thanks for your advice
  8. Do you have any other symptoms that accompany you when you're too tight? or just the heartburn
  9. My doc just emailed me back that he wants to see me asap (even today) :o Now i'm really nervous! 1) How can I suddenly be tight? 2) ESPECIALLY if i don't feel otherwise sick, and can keep my foods down ok? I don't wake up at night with acid or slime in my throat, just a low grade faint heartburn. Hely88, are these your symptoms?
  10. Thanks! I just emailed my doc
  11. Thanks Wow now I just got really nervous!
  12. Thats what I figured I'm thinking of doing this surgery (I already have some skin hanging by my lower abdomen, but I'm deathly afraid of general anesthesia :o )
  13. Hey everyone! Had my surgery in August and have been losing a nice amount of weight and have had ZERO issues with my band (yay!) (knock on wood!) However, for the past month I have been suffering from heartburn. It's not consistent so I manage it, but its definitely a real pain. I don't have reflux, and I don't think i'm too tight It was really bad last night when I was laying flat.... Anyone have any advise? Anyone have any recommendations for good/band friendly heartburn meds? Thanks
  14. What is the pubic line? I think I can guess what it is, but a quick google search didn't confirm my suspicion
  15. Interesting thread... I wonder if my BCBS will approve this if I lose 100 lbs This is done under general anesthesia I assume?
  16. You need to follow your doctor's orders, but also be realistic. If you cannot follow his diet then you gotta go discuss it with him and try to figure out an eating plan that works for you and will be healthy for your band I too, was told to avoid soup as it's empty calories, but honestly I cannot always do that, so I told my doctor and he said OK just be careful
  17. From what I have read insurance will cover this But (knock on wood) I have never had any issues thus far
  18. I think you should be taking it easy for a couple of days, especially steering clear of abdominal crunches. Ask your doctor, but personally I'd wait it out. I know it's tough but just think of all the weight you just lost!
  19. Thanks Velvet I'm looking for something that monitors heart rate AND calculated calories burned without needing to be on a machine.
  20. Love this post!!! Thanks for taking the time to write Congrats on reaching your goal and staying there Two questions: 1) did u have extra/saggy skin after the weight came off? 2) do you still ever PB/vomit?
  21. Thanks! Looks like an awesome device! But wow that's like double what I was wanting to pay... Do you know of anything cheaper?
  22. So I want to buy a device that will count my calories, track my activity/fitness levels and monitors heart rate (for accurate calorie measuring) The Fitbit doesn't monitor heart rate and how could it track my activity level while i'm, say, riding a bicycle? Is there a good device out there other than the fitbit?
  23. Cool! So what is insanity?
