  1. Btw i love the fact that i can't tolerate breads either! MMmmm that was my weakness! And now i could care less yay!
  2. I think we should stick together girl! we have a lot of the same issues and things, except that i am a vegetarian and not a diabetic- sorry you have to deal with that and stupid pcos! maybe we can motivate each other! I sure would love a fellow cyster (hehe) to go thru this with!! I was banded 9-28-11 and so far have lost about 22 lbs- dealing with some bloating so i will weigh when that is over.
  3. Thanks for responding! I have been dealing with a lot of regurgitation-yuck,my own fault though- im having trouble slowing down chewing and taking the next bite. I really need to stay away from any soft bread- they get stuck just about every time! I just saw you are in another group - Pcos bandsters- i have pcos too! Didn't know there was a group yay! Do you snack?
  4. I was wondering, to those of you about 2-3 month post op with around 4cc fills, what, when and how much you eat on an average day??
  5. It was like an uncontrollable urge to jam them in my mouth...like i didnt care about anything but those stupid cookies. I should mention I'm not in no way shape or form am an emotional eater- if ever i feel sad, or mad or whatever- eating is the LAST thing i wanna do. I think maybe because i hadnt eaten anything like that in so long...
  6. Ok its been 3 wks since surgery, and starting last night was a train wreck. My not overweight husband and skinny sister went out to return a movie and brought back not 1 or 2 but 3 different bags of Oreo's! And OMG i scarfed down like 6 and today (not all day was bad) had like at least another 6 throughout the day!!! I felt lethargic today, I guess because the passed few nights I have not slept well (baby got up a few in a row, the room was hot at 4am and husband wanted to..ahem...you know). I actually got a little energy from those cookies at one point. So now I'm feeling so guilty and fat and mad at myself. Is this a big time sign that I need a (first) fill? Dr. scheduled a 6 wk follow up with a "50/50 chance of a fill" 6 WEEKS??????
  7. Yea,they won't. You're midsection will be hurtin and those bumps in the road are unpleasant enough!
  8. I should have measured myself!! I've lost only 10 lbs (5 the wk before surgery and 5 after band) but i guess I lost most in my face cause clothes dont feel any different.
  9. It sounds like you are doing great and I want to follow your "techniques"!! I was never given a target calorie or Protein goal. How do i go about figuring the cals out? Before surgery i was supposed to do 1700 cal to loose 1-2lbs a week, but i would never be able (obviously) to eat all that now i have the band, how did you come to that number?
  10. I feel the same, it hit me like a ton of bricks watching my sister eat crackers and drink soda!! AHHHhhH! I was almost drooling!!!!!!!!!! I bit off a piece of pretzel the size of a finger nail and chewed the crap out of it and DAMN was it good!!!!!!!
  11. I eat-about 3 Gardein's "chikn" nugget things ( they are fake chicken, I'm a vegetarian) with half a can of green beans.
  12. It's been 11 days since my surgery and I'm feeling good physically- like incision wise- but soooo out of energy, I guess b/c the calories are so low! I've been getting hungry every 3 hrs, although the other day it was every 4- maybe pms?- anyway, i can eat 1 egg and almost a whole banana and I'm pretty satisfied, and I follow the rules of not drinking while eating and nothing to drink 15 min before a meal, and nothing for an hr after. How is everyone else doing?
  13. I just talked to the nurse who i also banded, and is like the mentor for everything and she allowed me to go to Phase 3- "mechanically soft foods" YAY! So we were goin out with my in laws and i ate some sweet potato, applesauce, mashed potatoes- ( we were at a steak house and I'm a vegetarian, and the only protein foods that i was allowed was beans which the waiter says had no meat but were chock full of bacon!) I felt better and ate very little.. tomorrow will be the first full day of Phase 3, hopefully i can get some energy back! Amy
  14. I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling crappy...I feel like there's a fist below my rib cage. And the HUNGER!!!!!!!
  15. Thanks! I just read someone talking about the 2 wk hell or something..maybe that's what im goin thru
  16. Hey everyone! Tomorrow is 4 days post-op for me. I was given dietary guidelines by my surgeon, yet when following it, i feel so hungry still! One meal suggestion is- 1/4 plain ff yogurt and 1/4 cup Crystal light...I was following it and damn! I felt like i could eat double that! I thought the full sensation would be like this huge internal alarm telling you to stop- but not so much, does anyone else feel the same? The basic guidelines of the diet progression for days 4-10 are full liquids..should be thin enough to pass thru a straw... so should i be drinkin my protein shakes like pre-op diet?
