  1. Sabrina' date=' I felt the same way... Day 1 and 2 were rough, then it was pretty easy to just shut off the rest of the food noise. It has been the same for me through my first week of surgery.

That said, I'm now cleared for mushies and I'm a little scared. It's one thing to just shut your mind off to food and say "that's not for me" -- I'm afraid that it's another to be eating... I feel a little nutso, but I still haven't eaten anything yet. I'm afraid to break the seal and let the hunger flow in!![/quote']

I completely understand that's the part I'm nervous about being able to eat and make those good choices when the hunger pains come..it'll definitely be a learning experience. Let me know how things go for you when you start the mushies and good luck hun..mind over platter!! Lolll

  2. I know exactly how you feel I am getting banded Wednesday May 2nd I'm not nervous about the actually surgery but maintenance after I want to make this works and follow all the rules so I can be successful..I will def miss all the comfort foods but I figure I have had 24 years of eating all of those foods that weren't good to my body..I now need to repair that. Plus you can still enjoy good tasting food just less portions and healthier choices..I'm sure treating yourself once in a whole isn't out of the question either! Good luck with your journey!!

  3. Sooo it's day ten of my liquid diet and I have to say its been ALOT easier than I thought..I honestly wanted to hurt ppl day 1 and 2 but after that it's been soo much better I'm not really hungry anymore..it's almost become routine I don't really think about grabbing something other than a shake Jello or crystal light my cravings are VERY minimal..I'm shocked lol I can make my nephew pizza fries chicken nuggets and not feel really tempted to take a bite..I'm so happy about this because my relationship with food hasn't been a really good one. I weighed myself Sunday and I was down 10 pounds I'm gonna weight myself again Tuesday hopefully I can lose a few more! I think I have lost inches as well because my jeans keep falling!! Lol

  4. Hey I haven't been banded yet. My Bday will be May 2nd so one week left. I was actually just wondering if anyone else had to stay in the hospital for a day or more. My hospital doesnt do outpatient so I will be there from Wednesday at 6am to Thursday evening maybe Friday morning I was told. Did anyone else have to do that and if so how was your experience?

  5. I am on day 8 of my 2 week liquid diet the first 2 days were hell!!! Lol but honestly it's been a breeze since then..I lost 10lbs in 6 days. My doctor has me drinking 4 slim fast low carb shakes a day plus sugar free Jello Popsicles and crystal light..I dont like te chicken broth so I don't drink it...just get through the first few days and it will get better I honestly don't feel really hungry anymore or have super crazy cravings. It's become almost a routine now so u dont think about it as much

  6. I had a cough and congestion that lasted with me for about two weeks before surgery' date=' I still have no idea if it was allergies or what. But when they called me two days before surgery to go over everything they could hear how congested I was and asked me if I was sick, I said I thought it was just allergies and she said okay but if I was sick they would have to postpone the surgery. On surgery day I felt fine but when they checked my temp it was high, I told them that I didn't know why it was high and I didn't feel sick (mine is always a little elevated). They went ahead and did the surgery but I think it was because I was showing no other signs of being sick.[/quote']

Oh no :-( hopefully its just my allergies I pulled a dusty blanket out the closet yesterday that's when I started feeling bad..but my nephew is sick so I'm not sure which it is

  7. I pretty much told everyone about my surgery I'm not ashamed about it not that anyone who doesn't is..but for me its not really any issue who knows..I could care less if people try and judge or have opinions about it...I'm doing this for me to better myself and everyone I have told so far is supportive there have been a few ppl that say ?"ohh why? u don't need to do that"..but they usually shut it when I ask them how they know what I NEED lol

  8. Okay so I started my pre op diet already my dietitian has me doing 4 slim fast replacement shakes a day I can sub for like other shakes if I like she says..I am shopping tomorrow for other things I may need for my pre op diet and also post surgery diet...can anyone help me out here I I pretty much know the main things I should get...I think lol but any suggestions would be nice I'm kinda starting from scratch here with the exception of a few things so ANY suggestions would be super appreciated :-)

  9. I haven't been banded yet but I will be out for 6 to 8 weeks my job has a 40 pound minimum lifting requirement I work with people so lifting someone is out of the question. I was told to come back when I'm ready. I'm going to use this time off to learn about the band and how it works with ME! As well as heal

  10. Thanks ladies it wasn't easy to give them away either but I know it's all worth it. I've been trying to stay away from food and the kitchen the hardest part I think for me is feeling hungry and a little light headed I had a slight headache yesterday but hopefully my body will start to adjust to the loss of calories soon I think I'm gonna go buy some zero calorie Gatorade maybe the electrolytes will help with the light headed feeling :-)
