  1. I also have a 14cc band and I'm at about 9ccs (I think) I feel like I'm getting close to the green zone! I haven't had restriction at all since about a month after surgery which was May 2 but I've lost 60lbs and maintained it for the most part. I've gained and lost a few pounds here and there. I'm hoping one more fill will put me in the green zone! My doctors told me with a larger band sometimes it's takes people longer to get to the green zone.

  2. Hey everyone I am 5 months post op I have lost a total of 62 lbs pre op and post op included. My band is large about 14ccs...My issue is no restriction. When I first had surgery I was swollen so I couldn't eat much and I was losing weight. I had about 4 fills already about 1cc each plus the 2 ccs from surgery. So I have about 6 maybe 6.5 ccs in my band right now. Since the swelling of surgery went down I feel I have absolutely no restriction. I think the swelling gave me a false sense of restriction...because I managed to stick to the three small meal diet because I wasnt hungry so the weight continued to go down. Now Im noticing I'm starting to feel hungry quickly and the small meals aren't satisfying me for the 4 hrs..I supplemented with Protein Shakes but I'm still starving. With this last fill I thought it may help but it still hasn't. I've notices the scale slowly climbing and I'm starting to get worried anybody else with a large band have this problem I don't know if its because my band is so large or something else but as these few pounds start to creep back I'm really starting to get frustrated I can tell you that with each fill I never felt restriction at all .I asked my doctor for more than 1.5 the last visit but she wouldn't give me more :-( that was about 5 weeks ago and I left the appointment feeling absolutely no restriction as usual. I have an appointment Thursday and I pray that I can get a little more than 1cc because I really need the help

  3. Heyyyyyy everyone!! I feel so out of loop its been about 2 months since I've been here.. how has everyone been? Ive been really busy with work and school and just life lol. But just wanted to you all a little on my progress and status. So I've been doing very well since surgery May2nd everything went smooth no complications at all. Since surgery I am down 32lbs so all together 62lbs down!! whoop whoop. I had my Second fill June 6th well first I guess..they put a little Fluid in my band at surgery. I had no restriction at the time so I was so happy to get one. As of right now my restricion is very minimal I have a large band 14ccs so I think I may need more of a fill to get to the green zone. Good thing is im still making good choices and eating in my baby bowl and spoon and working out almost everyday. I had an appointment July 26th for a fill but at the time I had lost around 14lbs since my last fill so I didnt think I needed one. My next fill is September 6th and I think I will get one this time. Anyway im rambling sorry. The only issues I have had is with Hair loss in my edges. I started taking Biotin 5000mg so hopefully that helps out a little besides that I haven't had an issue getting stuck or throwing up so far and hopefully things go well with my next fill! :-)

  4. So I told myself I wouldn't go shopping but I couldn't help it lol I just wanted a few things for summer. I have been a size 20 for so long I think since junior year hs. I tried on a few things and they didn't fit they were too big!!! So I went down to a 18 and they fit but loosely I'm sooo excited I haven't been this size in so long im able to wear 1XL tops and I got an XL dress as well! 43lbs down and I'm feeling amazing :-)

  5. WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS REAL TALK!!

I had sex the next day and while I never asked the doctors advice on intercourse I did ask about oral sex and his advice to me was "avoid it if its gonna make you gag' date=' but if you absolutetly feel the NEED, go slow and dont swallow... until your on solid food"[/quote']

This just made my day!!! Lol my "friend" asked ...well since you can't use a straw...does that mean you can't.....??? I laughed so hard my stomach hurt lol he looked like a sad puppy

  6. My surgeon tries to get his patients to lose as much weight as possible with a minimal amount of fills towards the beginning..and when weight loss begins to slow more when you're closer to your goal weight he will give you fills more frequently to give it a little push. He told me if I feel as tho I do not need a feel and he and I are happy with the rate of weight loss I can opt to skip the fill at that time.

  7. Hey everyone I'm 3 weeks post op..and feeling great. I am going to be starting soft foods tomorrow. Did any of you have a hard time transitioning to softer foods..? Just curious. If so what kinds of things did you have an issue with? I'm a little nervous about starting to eat more normal foods since these past few weeks have been great! No issues at all..I think the fear of gettin stuck is probably what it is.

  8. I agree with you completely. I'm 13 days post op and I hope I'm not jumping the gun by saying this was such a good decision to make..my hunger did return but I'm on puréed so a little amount gets me full for a long time!! Besides the gas my healing is going so well no issues with eating at all I take my time and I haven't experienced any nausea or even any uncomfortable feelings durning or after eating. I have 2 ccs in my band since surgery. All together I am 43lbs down 11lbs since surgery I couldn't be happier :-)

  9. Hello everyone I'm 11 days post op and I'm doing pretty well no issues with eating or drinking I'm on mushies so I've been doing puréed and drinking fluids and hour after and before...my question is how much Fluid is normal between meals like at one time..I sip sip sip no gulping or anything like that but I feel like I can drink alot of liquid is that okay? I just finished off 10oz of Water in a few minutes sipping I haven't had any pain or uncomfortable feelings doing this but I'm wondering If I would be doing damage to my pouch...water should slide through If I'm correct???

  10. You know what helped me out with my Constipation and gas after surgery was a little metamucil in my crystal light I drank it 3 times Sunday and I finally had a bm monday and tuesday and that's around the time my gas went away since I could finally get it out sorry TMI lol drinkin it too often tho gives me the runs so I only do it when I feel a bit backed up. My nutritionist says its safe to use just mix it in with a large bottle of Water I usually make a 24oz bottle of crystal light and add 1 teaspoon Metamucil

  11. So I had my 1 week check up today everything is healing well I had a single incision Lapband placement..they went in through my belly button since its super deep lol (doctor said). It's healing well and I feel great..no more gas pains I'm a little sore but nothing to take meds for. I was out and about all day by foot since I don't drive and I felt good. I was okayd to start working out slowly and I'm super happy..I've been missing my Zumba class. Also the dietitian says I can start puréed today :-) so I'm looking forward to more variety and flavor

  12. Thanks everyone (knock on wood) but I think this gas pain is gone...hopefully. I walked around last evening had some Soup took my meds and stuck a Gas x under my tongue and I slept all night no waking up because of gas I was able to release alot of it before I fell asleep..I noticed while in bed I had a sharp pain right under my chest by my ribs so I massaged and massaged for a while and I felt the gas moving and finally got it out!! I'm so happy. You don't realize how painful it really is until it's gone.. I sure hope it stays gone :-) I feel 10x better today!
