Glove I have been trying to post a topic i saw on here earler today. Was a girl who lost over 119 lbs in 9 mos. I couldnt help but look at her happy face. That can be everyone of us. I guess i am in a way Lucky I have 2 friends at work who has done the band. And while one of them had a slight complication after surgery she is now doing fine 2 yrs out. I have asked them both multiple times if they would do this again. And their answer is a very Resounding YES. Nothing worth having is easy or without risks. We all just have to figure out how much we are willing to give up or risk to have it. I do know that you will choose what is right for you and that no matter what you chose we will support you. Just dont give up something you wanted for so long on a spur of a moment ok hon.. Smile

Dear Glove i to read that ladys post. I saw where you had posted to her and I even then could feel your fear. Heres the deal No one but you can tell you what you should do. I will say that its common to have fear. But let me just throw out some medical stuff since thats what i am. Your risk of cutting your life short as a 70 lb over weight female is there. Also are you really enjoying your life? I know for me that my legs swell. I am short of breath way to often. I have high bp ( not super high but high) So if i dont do something NOW then i am risking my life, a much higher risk then i face with the surgery. As far as the band failing? No the band isnt what really fails its the ppl working the band. Think bout it. If you follow the rules and you go see the dr for fills then how do you fail? I cant tell you that you wont have ANY bad things or bad times with the band I wish i could tell everyone that. But dont let one Negitive person turn you off something you have worked for.

Hi everyone I know i have not been posting as much as of late as usual. Been super busy here as well as just a tad depressed on feeling that i was not making any progress towards getting my surgery. The delays I had really upset me mentally. Well today I finally got my last Carewise phone call. And was told that she would submit my file today or tomorrow for review and that normally in less then a week she has an answer and that it has never taken longer then 2 weeks. Then she would call my insurance and dr and tell them i am approved!!! She said that she felt that i had everything turned in and didnt see any reason why i couldnt get an Late April surgery date. I am sooo excited. I cant wait to start bugging the insurance compnay ... lol. Yayyyyy!!!

This morning was suppose to be my last phone call from carewise before surgery could be approved. I was all excited and have been all week. THis morning i get a call from Carewise to inform me that the girl who normally calls me is ill and thus cant call me. They wanted to postpone till the 20 th but i was like no way i can wait that long. So instead gotta wait till next saturday now. Sigh. I so want this part of my journey to be over so i can move on to the next part the schedualing surgery.

No date yet. Talked to the dietican and she is calling me tue for the last time. I hope with in days i get aproved and can call the surgeon to set a date i am still hoping for april 25th. WIll be sure to let you all know. Dhale no they dont require the egd that i have been told bout. But i will be sure to let the dr know i had hpylo before and show him that i have recently treated it. That should take care of any questions. I just felt i wanted to be ahead of the ball game on it.

Dhale. I have heard of another person that they found Hpylora in and thus delayed her surgery. I had that years ago and I was not very good at taking meds and i didnt finish the whole treatment So i was very worried that they would do preop and find that and stop my surgery So i am doing the treatment plan again NOW. Got one of the providers i work with to write me the scribts needed. So that hopefully when i get a date wont be any other things delaying me. Deb

Hey dhale thats how i am trying to look at it. I am trying hard not to stress it. I will be much more relaxed i know when i get the notice i am approved. I hope by march 25 I have that. I hate waiting.. Never been good at it... lol

I love how we are growing with new members each day. Think of all the ppl we will have to help us all in our journey. To cheer us on (grabs the pompoms) and to give advice.. This is GREAT!!!! I am so excited for each of us and for this group!!!!

Think i am going tomorrow to get me a new Iphone 4s. I am using and EVO now. So will wait till then to check out this program. lol not sure i want anyone to know what i am eating untill after i am back from vacation. I do not plan on being a good girl while there. Deb

Hi Lalaj. I am Deb, Welcome to the group. I am happy you got approved and i am sure they will give you a date soon. I am waiting for approval but suppose to have it by the start of April. I am hoping for an end of April surgery date. This is a fantastic group of ppl i think you will find it helpfull and suportive

Main thing to do is check out your insurance coverage. What do they require. Some require that you have a period of time you was under a dr care trying to lose weight. I had to list 2 years of things i tried for my dr he did not require proof just a list of what i tried and for how long and if any was successfull. My insurance though required that I do 6 mos of what is called CareWIse. Where I had to talk to a nurse and a dietican on the phone every few weeks for 6 mos. I am on my last month of that. I am also thinking omg how am i going to chew chew chew when i have to run back onto the floor... lol going to be interesting but dang it i am going to do it someway or other. hI pa... Guess i am lucky in that a couple of ppl in my dept has already done the lapband and been very successfull at it. So i have chosen to tell just bout everyone. Plus i am such an open person i dont keep secrets well especially ones i am so excited bout.. Everyone i work with knows details bout my Vacation in April and the lapband... lol i am sure they are tired of hearing me. I am not having my surgery where i work though. I am actually traveling 2 1/2 hours away but thats cause my hospital dont perform it and the closest is and hour and half away so choose to drive the extra hour to use a guy i knew had a good success rate.

I work till 11 pm so when i get home i have to unwind usually so even days i am off work i still tend to stay up till 2 or so .. the dark circles under my eyes tell i never sleep enough. Last night i had a hard time for sure getting to bed like you i kept checking on here.. Hope you all have a fantastic sunday.

I have not been told my diet yet by my surgeon but 2 friends used the same group a couple years ago so they sorta gave me heads up. All the fat free jello and popscyle i want to eat. Broth drained from Chicken noodle and veggie soup. they also named some other items that i did not take well heed of. They said they was only on it 1 week but i think i am going to do 2 weeks to be sure to have that liver down small so they can do my surgery without postponing in anyway. WIll fill in more when i get more info..

Hello Kelly Gosh cant believe i missed you ... Went to read and there you was. Welcome to the group.. lol and trust me you cant go on and on more then me. I am sorta i think the loud mouth of the group... lol but hey thas my way. I tend to be a bit of a personality comes with being and ER nurse i think. As for the supervised diet. I had to do 6 mos of phone calls with a Nurse *yea funny a nurse telling a nurse what to do and not do) Las tthing she said to me is wow your really a nurse cause i have scedualed my days off even though i dont have a surgery date yet. I also had to talk to a dietican and well i like ONE more phone call from her and it was suppose to be friday the 9th but she got ill and canceled on me so now wont be till the 16th (whine whine whine) once that is done like you i have everything done and they are suppose to have it all turned in to the insurance by the 22 and i am so hoping by april 1 i am approved and can secedaul my day!!! Went to dinner with my daughter in law * who i love like mine* and she wanted to know if i was scared of the surgery. Thing is i am NOT i am excited and i am scared i wont use it right and not lose like i want to. More scared i will fail then the labpand. .. Oh yea i am on my soap box ( picks up my soap box and puts it back in the closet) LOL
