    The Holiday Challenge

Sorry for the late posting. Weighed in yesterday at 178! I met my goal despite being away on Christmas vacation for two weeks. Without this challenge I do believe that I would have maintained my weight or remained on a stall. Thank you!

    Sept 2011 bandsters

I pray that you may find comfort and peace during this tough time. Cherish and treasure all the great memories that you shared with her. My heart goes out to you and I have said a prayer for you. Be blessed and comforted knowing that though she may be gone in flesh, her spirit is with you forever.

Greetings. Everyone is doing really well and that is so great to see. I am exercising more often and since I just had my second fill this past Monday, I still find it hard to eat my regular foods so I am doing my soft mushy foods for now. Thanksgiving wasn't the easiest with all the tempting dishes around and I did gain two pounds since I had more room to eat and gladly managed to lose it the week after. Good luck to all of you, I wish you continued success.

Hello, checking in for my weekly Sunday weigh in. Started week five this week, also had my first fill on the 25th. I have the okay to work out now so I began using the elliptical. My plan is to now increase my exercise to five days as opposed to three times a week for thirty minutes. Hopefully I can increase my fluid intake going forward because that seems to be the hardest endeavor to date. I wish everyone a successful and productive week.
  16. The doctor has his own practice where one can get banded and see him regularly for fills, true results pay various doctors who have their own bariatric offices to work for them I guess as a contractor would. Thereafter one is released to true results. Now if there are any problems with the band my understanding is that the doctor would takes care of that. A nurse practitioner performed my fill.

I had my first fill today, everything went smooth and the water went down okay. Along with the plication I had a fill during surgery totalling 3.5 ccs. I had a fill of .5 ccs. My current weight is 196 for a total loss of 23 pounds, three of which were pre-op. I hope to start working out more as I currently walk 3 times a week. Wishing everyone continued success.

  20. Elmo; At Dr Hollis' office he signs the release form to hand you over to True Results, they just take your demographic info and bp weight plus height. At True Results you present your release form, fill out some paperwork and they also take your vitals then get your fill. The process was harmless and no dietary log required nor was one requested. Amongst the papers you sign at the front desk one of them has a list of foods and you circle the frequency in which you eat those foods. I hope I answered all your questions.
  21. Just came from my first fill at true results, I was an hour late because I had to first go to Dr. Hollis' office. The lady at the front was quick to point out my timing but I let her know that the bay area was a bit of a distance, waited two minutes, was out in 10.

It is okay, no hard feelings at all. I feel like I may have over reacted way too much and I think it is because I like you and everyone here want to belong to this community and nurture each other as we defeat being overweight and overcome our obstacles together. I tried to get approved but to no avail and ended up being self pay. So I may have felt judged for not having to loose 100> and I just wanted it known that despite that it is really a struggle. I wish you success, with the wonderful support here I am sure we that we will all emerge as winners. Stay blessed and have a great day!

    Sept 2011 bandsters

I have been struggling to loose eighty plus pounds for the last five years and ended up dropping ten pounds but would constantly gain it back, I was unhappy with myself because my back hurt and would get winded. So I may not have a 100 plus pounds to loose but I still seeked help to get my life in control. I frequent here because we were all banded the same month but now feel sad after reading the posts this p.m, I am still obese today, just remember we are all trying to gain control of our lives and should just be positive and not make others feel bad in order to uplift others. Is it wrong that I decided to take control of my life before it worsened? Whether someone has 50 or 350 pounds to loose they are in the same journey for the betterment of tbeir health. I think it may be best if I limit my postings to the low bmi board. Good luck to all. I wish you the best. Peace and blessings.
