  1. now i'm, home and "on the other side" and meals so far are in a clear and full liquid diet... with so many liquids i basically am drinking my meal so I guess my fears for drinking while eating will see or fail to see themselves in several weeks when im to a puree or soft food diet. maybe. The good news... the surgery went well, no complications.
  2. Hi guys, I'm 2 days away from my long-awaited surgery (gastric sleeve) and need to replace my home scale(s) with something that will be more accurate and I can track in between office visits. The ones I have now include a rotary dial thingamadudebobber and the wii balance board. They disagree with each other and the balance board disagrees with itself within the same application or with different games from game to game. And, all these readings can be anywhere from 15 to 40 pounds difference with the doctors office. So, I'm looking for a scale that will first and foremost be accurate within a reasonable range to the doctor-visit scales. It needs to be able to read weight up to 400 lbs. and I'd like for it to have bmi and bone density etc but thats not important. I'm hoping to spend between 30-50 dollars but would spend more for the right scale, up to 100. Can anyone suggest yay or nay on the scales you have for your weightloss journey? I have been looking at the Healthometer that goes with the app Loseit! and the Weight Gurus and many others that I find on sale now. I have an android phone so most of the ones that automatically update an app on your phone don't work for me because they are all iphone centric. I would still consider those if they are *accurate* and people here like theirs. Too much information? Just tell me what you like or don't like about your scale, and what model it is. Thanks in advance! Yasman
  3. Hi guys, I am on my surgery vigil - i leave for the hospital in about 5-6 hours and of course am excited and cannot sleep. My surgery is July 14th. I'm surprised reading through this thread that so many surgeons have differing requirements for us patients. Some had same day surgery, (i will have a 2 day stay) some have had a pre-op diet prescribed for varying timeframes... my surgeon did not require any pre-op dietary changes at all. Now that I think of it that would have been a good idea. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better and hear your stories. I'm hoping of course that everything will go well tomorrow and I will be able to come home on Wednesday as planned. I went out and bought some liquid multivitamins and a sublingual b12 but i suppose I wont need the b12 until a month from now when the shot wears off. I also bought a 12pack of lean body vanilla protein shakes. I read somewhere in this thread that someone's taste buds changed and what they liked pre-op they really did not like post-op so now I am questioning my decision to purchase stuff before the surgery. that there's a lot of shakes if it turns out i don't like them after all! I'm curious to know (in detail) what choices you guys are making for the full liquid diet in terms of broth or yogurt or what have you. Does it all have to be sugar-free or can we do the yummy yogurts where you swirl and get the flavor from the bottom?
  4. I am coming late to this discussion its been a few weeks since it was really active. I'm at T minus One day for surgery (aka 5:30 am tomorrow) so thoughts on reaching my weight loss goal may seem premature. But I think that my surgeon's goal for me of about 240lb vs. a bmi chart 162.5 being so vastly different I'd like to hear more from more people about what they chose their goal to be and when/if they changed their minds. I went ahead and put in the 162.5 as my goal in my ticker because I do want to be as healthy as I can be and avoid ever getting diabetes. Which, not having diabetes and being 240 I think I would still be at risk of getting adult onset. Congratulations to everyone who posted wherever you are in your wls journey, you all are an inspiration.

    Surgery date set

Hi! My date for sleeve is in two days - July 14. I'm also told the stay should be about 2 days. I'm in your same boat wondering what I should take, apart from the incentive spirometer which they gave me at the pre-op and told me to bring with me to the hospital.
