  1. hi im from columbia, ms how r u? hope the pain is better today.... did you have a pre op diet to do, if so how did you do with it?

Funny you should say Columbia.... that is where my husband is from (Bunkerhill area). Pain is better today. I just started taking childrens tylenol so I wouldn't be so zombied out and in pain. It really did quite well. Since I couldn't get comfortable in any position I tried, I basically roamed around the house until I could sit still somewhere.

I had a 10 day pre op diet of Protein Shakes (3 per day/low carb/low sugar), dinner consume one Weight Watcher or Lean Cuisine. Could drink juice (limit to 2 cups a day) or sugar free beverage (any amount). sugar free Jello or pudding (any amount), sf popcicles or sf fudge sticks (any amount). I was already under my desired pre surgery weight so I just tried to stick to this as a trial run.

    Thanks for asking!

  2. I was sleeved on the 19th and came home from hospital on 20th. I had "buyers remorse" for a

couple of hours today. I actually told my husband "I want my tummy and my

money back!" I am having such a hard time getting comfortable anywhere! This gas that is

trapped under my rib cage is very painful so I just pace the floor. Hoping for

a better night tonight. I agree some warning should come with those Heparin

shots.. DANG they burn! And yes someone should have told you pre surgery you

would come out looking like you were about to deliver a set of small twins. Believe it or

not after all of that, I have lost 3 pounds. Yea you heard me 3 lbs in one day!!! Hope all

is well with my sleever family. This forum has been truly a God send!

  3. So have worked soooo hard to get approved and after many hours of calls and appeals I got a surprise call today. Initially, so excited....an hour later totally freaked out and questioning it (like watch out for what you wish for). IS THIS NORMAL? Now how to do I manage all these changing emotions until the surgery? HELP

I too just got the news I was approved and am having a flood of emotions. I would assume this is a normal response to a life changing decision we have made. I am rationalizing this by telling myself that this is only a tool to reach my goal and has to be used in the most responsible manner. My concern is keeping the weight off. I have to keep telling myself that this is the beginning of the rest of my life and if I am serious about this then it begins NOW. We can do this! Keep your eyes on the prize and concentrate on changing what you can NOW! Focus on the present and what you have to do to prepare for the initial surgery. That is what I am doing. Hope this helps...
