  1. Holy moly! Talk about a wind storm...now where's the rain to go with it?

  2. Unfortunately, nothing will get rid of stretch marks. Time will help them be less visible, but you'll never be completely rid of them. Any product that claims to do so is only taking your money. Stinks doesn't it?

    pain whie drinking....

Try taking smaller sips. That's what I did and it went away. (I', at day 9 today.)
  4. I'm now 9 days out, and two days ago I was down 17lbs. THAT has been a great motivation to keep from going INSANE from the hunger pains.

    Skipping Pureed Foods

I'm with Razrback...I wouldn't do it. Plus...this is the point where the weight is melting off, try to make it last as long as possible. The thing that keeps me on the Clear Liquids and Protein shakes is my scale. I LOVE what it's doing and I know that adding in food when I shouldn't could drastically slow it down. Good luck!
  6. Congratulations!!!!! That is awesome that your insurance is so on the ball!

    Holy Carbs Bat Man!

That's where most yogurts get you...they are sky high in carbs! There's a store brand I buy at fry's (Kroger in the south) that more protein and less carbs than everything else I've looked at. I can't remember the name of it or I would post it. I'm only a week out and am keeping the stuff out software the house so I don't eat it. LOL
  8. Thank you!!!! Glad to finally see another one of Dr Chiasson's patients here!

  9. Maybe the person you spoke to misspoke, or heard it wrong. Revision/reposition...they COULD be confused. (Trying to keep my hopes up for you!)

    Sleeved 8/24

WAY TO GO LILLEE!!!! We are having VERY similar experiences. I am LOVING this sleeve. No pain here either, just itching from the dermabond over my incisions. (Dr. doesn't use staples. YAY!) I was like you, I was out of bed as soon as I could possibly swing it, and it cracked me up that the nurses were surprised that I wanted to get up and move so much. I fully believe that contributed to my lack of pain. I think I used my PCA pump four times while I was there. (I was given an ice pack, and I pretty much kept it on my abdomen the entire time.) And welcome back to the land of "I have a working computer" too. Keep up the great work!!!

  12. "On this day in 2009" Apparently I loved my little family. Yeah, I'd still say that holds true today! <3

  13. Little boy kills a butterfly, Dad says no butter for 2 weeks! Boy kills a honeybee. Dad says no honey for 2 weeks! Mom kills a cockroach, boy turns to Dad and says are you going to tell her or shall I.

    Sleeved and home

I'm home now too! (Was released yesterday, but haven't been doing much other than sleeping.) Pain has been a LOT better than with getting the lap band in the first place. What little pain I do still have I use an ice pack on the sore area and it gets rid of it fairly quick. Temptation even got the best of me today, because I was curious to see how much I gained in the hospital. I am already down 6lbs!!! WOOHOO!!!! Now to train myself not to look for another week or so. LOL.
  15. I use mine 5 times a day, and will do so religiously for another week or so here. (Unless you're good with doing the deep breathing exercises without it, I can't seem to do them without it, GAH!)

    Just need a little advice.

With what you do, I would suggest getting yourself a Camelback and sipping from it constantly. It sounds like you do a LOT of sweating at work thanks to that furnace on the other side of the wall.
  17. Hi! Sorry it took me a while to respond...had final exams and papers due. YUCK!

It sounds like we hit the preop diet stage at the same time. I cannot STAND it, but I DID make my preop goal, so I am happy about that. JUST A FEW MORE DAYS!!! YAY!!!!

  19. Now, I am still a student nurse, but I know that there's at least one nurse, and I noticed someone else with nurse in their screen name. Fess up- how many of us are nurses? (YAY NURSES!)
  20. Oh I don't think you NEED luck! You have incredible willpower and two wonderful granddaughters to keep you going! But I will still offer it up to you! Here's to your SUCCESS!
  21. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!! Just think, before you know it they'll be TOO BIG!

    Overheating?

I live in Tucson, and haven't been sleeved yet, but if I work outside past 10am or before 5pm, I go through EXACTLY what you described. You have to be WELL hydrated BEFORE you go outside, and you have to stay hydrated while staying outside. I stop every 5 minutes and drink. I also make sure to stay inside as much as possible from 11-3.

    Feeling a little discouraged.

Don't get discouraged...money stinks but nothing says it has to happen out of the same paychecks. (I had to scrimp and save for these expenses too. UGH!) As for 130lbs...depends on your height. For me, I WOULD look terrible at that weight, but I'm 6'0" and built like a defensive lineman. LOL. I know my sister, who's only 5'1" was originally shooting for about 150lbs, but four months out she's already down to 162, so she lowered her goal weight down to where she'd like to be, which is about 120. It's totally doable! Good luck to you.

    Would you consider WLS "elective"?

Let is slide...easier said than done, but people who spout off comments like that 1. Don't really and truly know what they're talking about and 2. Just want you to really think it through. You know this is the right thing for YOU- and that's what matters the most.
