  1. Hello

I had my surgery on 11/26 and am four days post op. But I still have quite a bit of pain. I thought I will only be out for 5 days, thank god my boss disagreed with me and penciled me out for 3 weeks. I will go back after my 2 week check up. I am using my pain meds every 5 - 6 hours still. I can definently tell when I drink too much or too fast b/c it feels very uncomfortable in my epigastric region. I am so scared of causing the band to slip but my nurse said I'm doing fine. I don't have much of an appetite. I tend to make a shake put half in my glass and wait about an hour to have the other half. I'm still proud and excited about my skinny future. :P

  2. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I am a nurse but have never been admitted to the hospital or had any type of surgery. This fact makes me incredibly nervous. Do any of you know if you can take Prozac post op? I'm gonna need it.

  3. I have Cigna and had to jump through all the 6th month long requirements. At first I was denied and I was really frustrated b/c I did everything they said. Then after my doc's office spoke with the insurance company I was ok'd. :) And now I have my surgery date on November 26th. I am excited, happy and nervous all in the same breath. I am supposed to do my preop diet 10 days before surgery and almost started tomorrow which would be too early. It just feels too good to finally come true. I have been dreaming about this procedure for about 4 years and finally it will happen in less than a month.

  4. I am at the midway point right now. I have been to the consultation, nutritionist, pyshc visit and support group. But I still have another 3 months to go before I can even apply for surgery to my insurance company. I am excited and frustrated b/c I just want to do it. But I know that the process is just part of the journey.

  5. Thank you that makes me feel much better. I went out yesterday and bought caprisun's 10 cal. juice boxes and will be bringing those to work. Usually I bring a can of soda and seltzer Water. I am starting slow with the caprisuns and than will switch to water when it comes closer to my surgery date. I am the kind of person who has to slowly change my habits. mandy it looks like your almost at your goal. That's great. How long has it taken?

  6. I went from having BCBS, which didn't cover the lap band to Cigna which does cover the procedure. But now I am bummed b/c of this horrible process that you have to go through. I don't have the comorbidities listed by my insurance but am infertile, have a disk problem w/chronic back pain and have urinary incontinence. Are these comorbities enough, for Cigna? I saw my doctor for six months but only saw her monthly for the first 3 or 4 months. I am hoping that this along w/weight watchers will be enough.

    :faint:

  7. I have cigna insurance too. I am just starting though. I haven't gone for my visit w/my surgeon yet. I was also wondering what info they wanted exactly. I went to my doc in 2005 and over the process of six months had been followed by my doc. So, am I supposed to have the doc copy those notes for me and bring them with me? Do you have to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy for the surgery, for Cigna? Has anything changed since you last wrote, did you get approval? Sorry I can't give any answers to you?

    :)

  8. I almost cried when I heard about anna's death. Not as much for her but for her child. And if the estate does win the money will her child be pushed aside? or loved as it should be? Also I was wondering why she and her husband left their infant in the Carribean. All the circumstances are just weird.
