  1. Thanks for your reply. It meant allot to me. I walk as much as I can. I finally got to walk yesterday after 3 days of rain and doctoring my husband who is still in recovery from his major neck surgery. He and I walk together, so if he is having issues, we do not go. I love the walking! It makes me feel ALLOT better.

    I bumped up.. is that so wrong?

    I just want to thank everyone for their kind and helpful words. I am sorry of anyone thought that I was looking for approval.. what I was looking for is other peoples stories and to see if I was the only one that "cheated" a little. Ya know it makes ya feel a little bit better knowing that you are NOT the ONLY one. Lord knows I am not a Saint and I am human and make many mistakes.. and I am known to push the envelop from time to time. Like after my surgery I told the nurses that I wanted OFF my pain meds.. I hate pain meds. If I "need" them.. then fine, but dang.. the small amount of pain this caused was nothing... it was less than child birth and I breezed through that too with nothing... I am just what I am.. I do not try to be anything else. If I offened anyone with my life and choices, I am sorry, but I do what I do.. I do not ask anyone to do it for me... (with the exception of the Lap-Band) and even that is still ME to do.. ya know? Soooo...... The only (I guess) solid foods I eat, is my egg and fruit in the morning. What I eat is a 1/4 cup of egg substitute scrambled up really small and fresh fruit smashed up on my little saucer. I eat it very slowly with a baby spoon so I do not get "too much" in my mouth to chew up. It goes down fine and I do not have any issues after I eat it. I wait 30 mins and then I drink Water till I am "hungry" again which in about 3 to 4 hours later... Also.. I missed my lunch yesterday, as I was doing work around the house, took care of my husband (as he is still under heavy pain meds and in a neck collar) and then wanted to go for a walk and then stopped over to visit some new neighbors we met, and so for dinner that night... I had.... a wonderful blueberry and cantaloup with vanilla yogurt smoothie (not a solid). I still had my funky feelings inside and I still had some cramping throughout the day.. but I really am not thinking it was from the eggs I had at 8AM. Just so ya all know.. I am not mad.. I am not upset (I was at 1st after reading a post). I am just going to keep on my journey and try to do the best that I can, and as I grow with this journey I will extend my hand out to those looking for help that come up behind me and reach out for it.     I want to thank you so much!! You were very helpful and I think we are all just a little bit more educated on these matters with your kind and thoughtful words. I am so pleased to know that we have people in this group such as yourself, that has such insight to help those who have just begun their journey and are looking for help and guidance.     Liquid diet depression

    I have blended just about everything to see what works and what don't. smoothies made me happiest. In fact.. I may have to have one of those for dinner tonight. Cantaloup/blueberry and yogurt smoothie sounds good. I am still getting used to the amount I can eat. I "feel" like I want to eat ALLOT.. but that is not what I "can" eat and not what I know I "will" eat. I try to be a good girl!

    the only thing I am eating right now that is not "pureed" is my eggs in the morning for Breakfast. I have scrambled eggs(egg substitute) and fruit. I am eating only 4 oz. at any meal I eat. I found out that Pasta is NOT my friend. My pains are whenever. I have had some afterwards, but others are not even around the time I have eaten. I am not throwing up, so I am good with that. lol I am having hunger growls again.. Ugh! guess I will eat my Soup... I have read so many things on this and have so many different stories as to what I can and can not eat.. makes me sorta freaked out. I have decided that I will never eat bread or rice again. I am not too upset about that.. I have not tried to eat them.. but I do not want to either. I am more scared of getting a blockage than throwing up. I have seen and read up on people who have had blockages, and I am not looking forward to that AT ALL.

    One week out from surgery

    When I was in the hospital, there was a patient that was eating liquids right after surgery... so the rules must be flexible according to your body and what you can tolerate. I know what you are saying about wanting to chew on something.. I had to jump up to pureed foods, but I still do the liquids too. But like right now. I had 1oz. pureed Protein and 1oz. pureed veggies and I am still having hunger pangs... I am drinking Water and it is still growling... makes me want to make a huge sammich! BUT no... I am a little bit in a lucky place as my husband had neck surgery a week before I had mine and he has to eat soft foods due to his neck being swollen, so we cook meals that work for us and still work for our son, who is living with us. I just have to make mine even MORE soft before eating it. Pop-cycles are my friend...

  11. I was banded on the 31st of August and I am supposed to be on full liquids, but I can not do that anymore. I bumped up to pureed foods.. I am eating healthy foods and I have had no problems. I just had my lunch of 1oz. Protein and 1 oz. veggies and I am still hungry. 2 oz. is not cutting it. I also have trouble getting in all my Water that I need to. They want me to get 64 oz. and I am lucky to get 30(+)oz. in. I did not have any issues with upset stomach. I did try more solid food last night and I will never do that again. :cheated: I had a really stuffed feeling and then started getting pangs of pain (like a cramp) on my left side under my rib for hours and that was enough for me... I know I pushed it by going to pureed foods.. but I had no problems when I did that.. so I am back to pureed foods till I am okayed to go up another level. I am not too sure if I am doing wrong wrong as it did say in all that I have read that the progress of what I eat can fluctuate depending on the person and such.:what:

  14. Hello there, my name is Shelley and I live in Ohio. I had my surgery on the 31st of August and I am really looking forward to talking to others to find out what works and what don't out there. I have found that the full liquid is NOT working for me. I end up hungry in about a hour after eating/drinking my meal. SO... I tried some pureed food for my next meal and that stayed with me longer and I had no backlash.... I did cheat a lil and tried some more solid food last night (spaghetti) and that was a No-No , my tummy was NOT HAPPY.. so I am back to pureed foods. What I am eating now is things like, steamed veggies, chicken, tuna, pork loin and ground beef (mashed/blended). Mashed regular/sweet potatoes, cream Soups, cottage cheese (best friend), yogurt, smoothies, fresh fruit (mashed/blended), and the list goes on. I just make sure everything is well chewed, mashed, or blended. What I would like it more ideas for dinner choices, as I do not want to run my house like a restaurant, cause I still have a child at home. one more thing.. I have a hard time getting in ALL my liquids.. anyone else have this problem? That is all.. I know I have a long introduction.. but I can be long winded.. lol Shelley
