  1. Sugar is no good for me so far. I haven't tried bread or pasta yet. I LOVE TOFU and so does my sleeve! I have been a bit of a rebel and tried some spicy stuff a couple times (Spicy food is my passion. I would be DEVASTATED if I couldn't tolerate spicy food) so far so good. My sleeve does not like egg yolks. Egg whites are fine, but scrambled eggs set my sleeve on FIRE!I get very hot, and nauseous when I eat too much sugar. That's what happened to me with my cream of wheat, too much sugar. I'm ok with that, It will keep me from over indulging.

    Swallowing Pills After Surgery

My surgeon wanted pills crushed. He would check with the phX and see what could be crushed and what needed to be switched to accomadate. Pain meds post op were liquid.
  6. Nuva ring for me. I am not very compliant with taking my pill everyday. My NP said that the ring was a great choice due to having WLS. I have used it in the past and no problems with it at all.
  7. Pre-op dieting, I would order my food and ask them to box 1/2 of the food before they serve me. My surgeon gives his patients a card that can be lamenated and kept in your wallet. It states that you have had stomach surgery and it would be appreciated to be able to order items off of the children's menu and senior menu!

    Major Stall.... Ugh!

I'm in the stall right now. I feel your pain. I have decided that I will only weigh myself on Saturday mornings. I have been obsessing over the scale EVERYDAY since I came home from the hospital. It will drive you NUTS!! I do know that I feel pretty damn good as compared to pre-op. Hoping to see a drop on Saturday!

  13. Congrats! You're MELTING!! . Hoping that your BP does the same for you real soon.
  14. I was allowed to remove them at 10 days.
  15. I am in the 3 week stall. I haven't weighed myself since Tuesday (A big deal for me!) I won't weigh until Sleeve4me's Super Saturday weigh in. I can't keep looking at the scale EVERYDAY. I am hoping to see a big drop on Saturday. I know EXACTLEY what you mean. I am so scared that the weight is not going to come off. Thats's all a head game and we have to remind ourselves that it WILL come off, slowly maybe, but it WILL.....right?
  16. Ok, So how long did it take before you were able to seperate your head hunger from actual hunger. I am ok during the day, I have to remind myself to eat. When the sun goes down, then my mind starts in. This evening after my shrimp/tofu stir fry, I have had a SF jello, a SF fudsicle AND 6 small shrimps. I don't want to get back into my grazing habits like before...

    It's Official, I Am Sleeved!

Congrats!! Everyday will get a little better. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  18. I DIDN'T weigh myself today *patting on back*

  19. I took my full 4 weeks off. I am tired and my energy level isn't up to par. Especially with the constant sipping that is needed post-op, I couldn't do that at my job. I am ready now. Glad I took the time off and my CA state disability covered.

    Vision Problems?

I had lasik in 2009 and i have noticed that my distance vision is a little blurry now since my surgery. It may be related to dry eyes, at least thats what I am hoping.
  21. I really like tofu. It is great because tofu takes on whatever flavor you are cooking it with...try this Cubed extra firm tofu (already cubed is a great convenience) a couple of turns of evoo in a skillet, saute the tofu, a couple of turns of soy sauce, a little chopped green onion, some chopped cilantro and a little of the canned diced tomatoes with juice...let it simmer and saute. SO GOOD!! That's what's for dinner tonight. I am getting bored with what I feel like are a lack of options. Try to get creative with seasonings. I have found that I don't like anything too sweet anymore, and neither does "Sleevie Wonder" (That's what I named her! ). Good luck .

    Dreaded 3-week Stall - Info?

I'm in the 3 week stall right now and HATING IT!! I am obsessed with the scale and not seeing it move is driving me nutty!! I will not get on the scale until next week. Hopefully it will break soon so I can feel like I'm on track.
  23. AAARRRGH!!! I have been stalled for 4 days now! What am I doing wrong? What can I do better? I am fighting this battle in my head that the weight is not going to come off and I am getting discouraged. My diet today: breakfast : 1.5 egg whites lunch: 1/4 c guacamole or 1/2 c egg drop soup dinner: 4 oz cottage cheese. water inbetween meals. I know I need ALOT more Protein in my diet, but I needed a break from the Protein Shakes (and the constapation that goes with it). sigh* What do I need to do.

Is It The 3 Week Stall?

I did try a naked protein drink about a week ago. Not bad. The gritty texture was a little wierd, made my mouth feel dirty, but the taste was good. I am just anxious for the scale to start moving again.
  25. I can only speak for myself. My surgery was a breeze. I did not wake up in any pain, very comfortable. The gas pain was my only trouble. It hurts. My pain tolerance is pretty high. It was about a constant 7. Peaks of 8.5s. Swallowing made it hurt, heparin shots and anything that went into my IV really stirred up my gas. Make sure you get up as soon as you can and WALK. WALK, WALK, WALK. It does feel better and gets the gas moving. Have some chapstick on hand, your lips may be chapped. I had some issues with the whole post-op diet, still am. It's really a mind game and it is hard at times. I am very happy that I have done it, would do it all over again. Can't wait for this time next year to see the new me! Congrats, Best of Luck and a speedy recovery to the both of you!
