    Vitamin Water Zero

I haven't tried Vitamin Water with unflavored Protein (Syntrax) but I have mixed it in regular water (Syntrax) and it was pretty gross. Keep in mind that Unflavored really does have a light flavor and a smell to it. Things I have made with the Unflavored: smoothies w/ milk, peaches, mangos, strawberries or some other fruit Tomato Soup oatmeal Let us know how it turns out!
  2. I also get sick after anesthesia also, not violent throwing up but a lot of nausea. The best thing to do is tell your surgeon, the nurse, and especially the anesthesiologist. I had my surgery on Tuesday and no problems at all. They put this patch on me that really helps and they can give you other meds too. Let everyone know who you come into contact with. Good luck!!!
  3. I had my surgery Tuesday and once I got home was told I could do full liquids. I have been concentrating on just having 1%milk and Protein mixed in. Even did Peanut Butter in the shake to get that extra protein in. I have gotten all the protein in for the day but am struggling to get my 64 oz of Water. I am going back and forth between regular water and Propel (bleh). I know we can count the shake liquid as our liquid but I am only at 32 oz right now, not sure I can get more in.... I am very bloated with gas, rumbling tummy and feel like I just left a huge buffet but I am optimistic that this too will pass. I can have cream Soups and pudding, etc... but right now I am sticking to the shakes. This was my first full day at home and I don't want to try too many things yet. My surgeon told me to eat whatever I wanted (full liquid/creamy wise) because I would be taking in so little it didn't matter, she didn't give me a carb restriction. I finally got a calorie goal out of her and she said somewhere around 900 calories!! I thought that was almost double what I should be taking in but she said it was ok. I am lucky and can get the shakes down relatively easy, takes around 30-45min but I still like them. I have plenty of samples and Torani flavors to mix things up. I also saved the smoothie recipes I found on here and on http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ so I think I will be ok (except for that darn water thing). I have a determination!! We will get thru this everyone!! This site is great for that! Boy, you can tell I am on the meds, side effect being obnoxious ramblings!! Forgive me

    Surgery Tomorrow!!

Panda, hope yours went well. Mine did and I got home yesterday. Not really in a lot of pain but am feeling the gas today. I am also experiencing how hard it is to get that Protein in but I am determined to do it! Sleeve2b, good luck and hope it all went well with you yesterday. I never knew Mexico was an option til I had signed up locally. I am self pay so I know it is a huge difference! I really feel it will be worth getting a loan in the end! Hoping all goes well for you ladies!!! And yes, that clear liquid diet sucked!! I am on full liquids now! Much easier.

    Sleeved this morning!

thank you for all the well wishes. I came home today and am doing pretty well. I now see how hard it is going to be to get the food/protein in but will figure it out. I currently have a Water bottle of water, unflavored Protein and some Torani Hazelnut syrup. Been drinking it since 4 and only a third of the way down. I'm not in a lot of pain but have a buddy ball pain medicine and am still walking. I have to say, I was in a room with a girl who had the roux n y (sp) and she had to be cut open, hers was done on Monday and they are keeping her an additional day. She was miserable!! But she also was fighting everything and everyone. I felt so bad for her. Glad that I did the sleeve!!! Well off to walk some....
  6. And so far, I'm doing great! I have done 21 laps around the floor, not too much pain, been ableto get up unassisted! Just being sleeved has boosted my confidence, I am on my way! I do figure tomorrow will be harder but its one day closer to being healed! I'm officially in the loset's club!
  7. Sorry, sleeve done yesterday and drugged up typing
  8. My surgery in total was a little over $20,000 in ohio. Wr borroeed on the house so I habe ,30 yeasrs to pay it back. Sucks but going to be so worth it
  9. wow, this is awesome, can't wait to start creating!!! Thank you for the list!
  10. I have no idea if squash and zucchini are starchy or not... they are veggies so they work for me. I don't do peppers, onions, mushrooms, cooked spinach, so I am limited on veggies. I know that corn and peas are starchy but that is it. I am excited, down to 5 days til surgery. It is very hard to do the sips and tiny bites (or massive chewing) but I think I will be glad for the practice. I have decided as I hit the 9 1/2 lbs lost stage that the reason for this diet is for more than the reducing the liver size (yes that is important) but I think it helps morale, I know I have struggled with whether or not I am making the right decision but with the weight loss, it makes more positive for this. I think it also gets you used to eating better and less before the critical have to point, maybe making it less likely to make a mistake. Honestly my doctor did not push a pre-op diet, just a 24 hour liquid diet. I chose to do this because of this forum. I think a little bit of success a little change in habits a little change in lifestyle all helps to make this more successful.
  11. I also lost my gallbladder after losing 60lbs on weight watchers, and just a note to add, removal of your gallbladder can lead to you developing ibs, I did. I also had to have my uterus removed due to weight loss. I had a prolapse and the dr told me I would have had it removed years ago but the fat cells held it in place better. I have asked I'd there were asnt other organs I could lose and they told me probably not. B utno one makes you aware of the side effects of any weight loss, surgery or other method. I didnt know these things could happen. Also being cold is done to me as long as I can fit in an average size jacket!
  12. My pre-op diet was low fat and high Protein, similar to you. I am using myfitnessdiary for keeping track and it was telling me I was not eating enough and outing my body in starvation mode, I was averaging 1100 calories a day give or take. I called the dr office and they told me I needed to get in 1800 to 2000 calories! There was no was I could easy more food, eating higher cal food just ads fast and carbs, so I have struggled but I have lost 8 pounds in a week on it so I must be doing something right. Saw surgeon today and she said I was doing fine so I'm not stressing about it. Surgery in 6 days! A sample menu for me: B- protein shake made w/ vanilla soy lite S- lite string cheese and high Fiber crackers L- cherry tomatoes, mini english cucumbers, ckn breast, pepitos, lite italian dressing S- grapes and fiber one yogurt D- squash, zucchini, chicken breast, spray butter and teriyaki S- protein shake w/lite vanilla soy milk 9 glasses of Water plus (i drink a lot) I eat many times a day because I only eat small amts, I get full easy now before the surgery. I would suggest doing the tiny bites and small sips practice, it is hard to adjust to! Good luck!

    Is It True???

I have IBS and was super addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper for many years, several months ago I decided to give it up and see if it made a difference. It made a huge difference in my stomach issues. I went to Sprite Zero after that. Now that I am going to have surgery, I have weaned myself off of that. It is sad and I miss the bubbles but I know this is a better choice for me. Maybe somewhere down the road I will allow a sip or so here and there but really, I am determined to make this sleeve work for me and I will do what I need to do! Good luck!!
  15. Thank you Libbe, that is food for thought and maybe after I will change my mind, just not sure. There is a lot of negativity at work and I am not sure I want to deal with the drama but I also agree with what you say!
  16. Shell, I am in the same boat, my co-workers and boss are very nosey, but that is the department I work in in general, we are all up each other's business. I did tell my boss and am keeping my fingers crossed that she won't tell anyone. She is the one I trust the most but otherwise its like high school in there and I feel like they would be judging me and talking about me behind my back (more so than usual) and I don't need their stress. The funny thing is that they are the major fad dieters in there. I never did fad diet because I didn't want to screw me up more than I already was. Already they are all asking me what is going on, why are you going to dr appts, why are you having surgery (can't keep anything quiet in there, had to tell them something). Didn't have a specific surgery to give them so told them exploratory for gastritis, ibs, and reflux. That is also the reasoning for the pre-op diet (they question everything everyone puts in their mouth in that office). Other than my boss, my kids, husband and parents and best friend know, that is it and I don't know who I will tell after.... I am so afraid people will say this is cheating, taking the easy way out even though I know it is going to be very hard and very disciplined.
  17. First I want to say that I am posting this on this here and on ObesityHelp, I want as much help as possible so if you see it there, sorry! Ok, so this past Friday, I got the call, Sept. 20 is the date. I have to have a pre-op all day at the hospital next week (some kind of video, etc...) and then I get to meet my surgeon on the 13th. I have no specific two week diet other than low carb. I want to do the high Protein liquid diet that I have read most people have to do. I have so many questions so I am going to list them. I have done some searching but to be honest, I am super overwhelmed right now!! I also want to let you know I am self-pay so no insurance requirements to fulfil. 1. Can anyone send me or post the liquid diet they are following. 2. How on earth do you pick thru the variety of Proteins available? I have read eggface blog recipes but I don't love chocolate, fake strawberry taste, vanilla would be ok... I also know there is flavorless... 3. If we are supposed to give up caffine, then doesn't the chocolate, mocha's, etc.. have it in there? 4. Will a high protein, low carb diet give me back some energy? I am at a super all time low and feel like I am going to need all the energy I can get to stay focused. I am not an overeater but I tend to skip meals because it is easier... 5. Can someone send me a link or make a list of the items I will need for this (I am a little OCD so it helps me to be prepared and organized). 6. Anyone familiar with Dr. Rita Anderson or in the Dayton area? 7. Does anyone meal plan and know of a site or link that can help me start that? I know this is a lot to ask, but I am so confused and crazy right now. Any help, links, advice, or good smacks across the face would be good right now.
  18. thank you, thank you, thank you for your response! I ordered the Vitamins I will need tonite, bought some Protein powder to try and some healthy foods for lunch, sticking with the high protein, low carbs. Never knew yogurt had so many carbs! Like I said, I haven't seen the surgeon yet but was just told to go on a low fat diet. I want to do more, I want to be successful!! So I appreciate the list. I am looking at adkins plans to see what is low in carbs and also the liquid diets to see if I can do a sort of combo the first week then go all liquid the next. Hopefully that is not crazy! ~Theresa
  19. Anyone with some links at least to send me in the right direction?
