    Is This Gall Stone Pain?

Sounds like it definitely could be. Like others said, my pain was just below my ribs. The doc did ask if it transferred to my back which is I guess something it does when it gets bad. Back pain like that could also mean kidney stones. Go get checked out and advocate for yourself! Liquid lortab took the pain away for me when I had an episode until I could get surgery. Hope you're feeling better soon!

    Gallbladder - She's Gonna Blow!

I'm laying here after just getting my gall bladder out two days ago. Good news is that while its not fun, its way easier than the sleeve surgery. (I'm 8 months out, 80 lbs down, 70 more to go.) Heres what my doctor told me - while I need to avoid fatty foods at first (like 2 to 4 weeks), after that initial period of adjustment, I can eat whatever I want. Your gall bladder sends squirts of bile to help you digest food. Without it, your stomach gets a steady drip of bile instead of sudden squirts. He assured me that my body will adjust to this without a problem very quickly. He compared it to having your appendix out - nice to have, but you can easily survive without it. It doesn't make sense that the attacks wouldn't stop after having it removed if you've confirmed you have stones. There wouldn't be anything there to cause it anymore. Personally, I was relieved to get it out after the pain of the attacks. It was so stressful to never know when they'd strike and ruin my day!

    I Think I Need Help!

First of all, you're doing great with the weight loss. Isn't it frustrating how much of a mental battle this is? A couple books have helped me - The End to Overeating, written by the former head of the fda and Women, food and God. Even if you're not a woman, give it a shot. And I agree with the others - two shakes hardly seems satisfying and I would binge too. Also planning/having the right foods available helps. I've also been going to therapy which is a great tool for processing all this change.
  4. I'm about 2 months out and have been wondering this same thing! Is what I'm eating okay? Still getting used to solid foods as I got the free and clear at 6 weeks. Typically, I've been eating: Breakfast - 1 scrambled egg with ketchup OR 1/2 cup cottage cheese with canned pineapple lunch - beef Jerky, cashews, and string cheese OR rice and Beans (~1 Tablespoon of each) OR 1/2 cup tuna salad (eaten over 2 sittings) dinner - deli meat with a piece of cheese OR ground beef lettuce wrap (~3 T meat with 1 romaine lettuce leaf) OR meat taco (don't eat the tortilla) OR baked fish If I snack, it might be some juice or half a Builder's bar or a string cheese or a small handful of nuts. I've tried eating chicken, but it doesn't go down well most of the time. I burnt out on Protein shakes, so I've been avoiding them, but it seems like everyone has 1 a day. I love frozen yogurt and it goes down so well. I usually have it about once every other week or so. I've had some not so good for me things and they usually feel horrible going down which I'm grateful for. It's nice that eating well is starting to become instinctual.
