MY band slipped and I had to pay 5200 to get it corrected. self pay.

but it was worth it..i was unfilled for 30 days. I went nuts

:clap2: :bored :bored :bored :bored :bored IF your band slilps,, and your self Pay, IT could cost you $5000.00 in TJ,, that is what mine cost,, after only being banded 1 yr.. I stayed 2 nights vice 1 in the hospital in TJ,, I have a VERY GOOD DR..

I am going to TJ MExico,, much cheaper.. That is where I got my band and that is where I am going for plastic surgery> LA is the Cosmetic Surg Capital of the world. WHY pay them prices..LA is only 3 hrs away fron TJ anyway...:think :think :think :think :eek: :)

I didn't loose till after 2nd fill and it was around 8 pds a month..

:help: :help: :help: :help: :help: After going down to TJ for 1 month and getting an unfill. I was told yesterday that it will cost me 5700. to get the BAND RE POSITIONED.

BY DR. LOPEZ.... I WENT DOWN 1/22/07 and was told BAND NEEDS TO BE REPOSITIONED.. THE DR DID AN UNFILL AND XRAYS.. I WENT BACK ON 2./19/07 AND MORE XRAYS AND A FILL UNDER FLORO 1.9cc put it. So THEN I WAS TOLD THE SURG WOULD COST 5700.. I AM SELF PAY

I NEED TO BE IN THE HOSPITAL 2 DAY/CARDIOLOGIST/NUTRITIONALIST/AND BLOOD WORK UP. I EMAILDED BACK AND ASK IF I CAN GET SOME OF THE WORK DONE BY PCP AND TAKE THE RESULTS BACK TO TJ WITH ME...TO SAVE SOME COSTS.. I AM NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF ANSWER I AM GOING TO GET

I dont eat any bread products at all. THey dont go down

no mattr what kind of bread product it is....Biskets, toast, Buns ect

So I just don't eat them at all.. I guess I am doing myself a favor anyway.. less calories, and carbs..after 1 year I dont miss it at all

This is exactly what I was doing. now I need to stay unfilled for another 2 wks then go back to TJ and see if I am back to normal or not. IF NOT then I dont know the Dr. is going to do:help:

I believe pouch dilation is something that occurs over a period of time. I have had this twice (both very recently) and it occurred when I was over 2 years out from being banded and had been 'cheating' regularly for at least a year. Cheating as in drinking with my food to eat more, eating too fast and consuming large amounts of liquid at one time very quickly. Also, my band was far too tight which contributed greatly to this problem.

After a few complications and a minor surgery (with my port - NOT related to the dilation issue), it scared me enough to go back to following the rules. The alternative was a slippage which would have been devastating both financially and emotionally for me.

The major symptom I had from my dilation was being able to eat noticeably more, and constant severe reflux.

It certainly pays early on to form good habits and stick to them or you may suffer severe consequences down the road. I took my band for granted and thought I could push it and push it and not look after it and I got a big warning.

I did not know about this thread,, I started at aBMI of 32...Lost my weight. Stomach stretched out,, got an unFILL 2 wks ago. NOw I have gained 5 pds back in 6 wks.. So I cant wait to get my FILL if that is what the DR is going to do.. Dont know..

Well with all this info I guess I need to wake up and smell the roses. I have 2 more weeks before I go back to the Dr offiice and see if the pouch has gone back down to where it should be..I hate being unfilled. But overall I have been eating soft foods so it will shrink back down.. I just hope I dont put on to many more pounds.. thanks all for the good inputs
