  1. i was a self pay patient and didnt go through all the test and therapists and things like other people. but i am going to try a few things with my money and see if it works. gonna put only bill money in the bank and leave my debit card at home also gonna get gas with cash. then going to put the rest on my grocery gift card i can buy scratch with it. i work in a grocery store. also gonna leave any cash left over at home. sorry i posted in this forum i just didnt know where else to post. maybe i could start an new thread. called something like i am not over eating anymore but the gambling is getting out of control. look for it.


  2. green zone is were u can only eat about 1 cup of food at a time and u r full for 4 or more hours. also green zone means u r losing 1 to 2 lbs a week. You get to the green zone through fills. The dr injects saline into the band via a port to make the band tighter or an unfill is where it is to tight (red zone) and nothing goes through the band


  3. I work at a grocery store and i told upper managment and a couple people my close friends and before long every1 in the store knew i had surgery. Now i am probably 8 weeks post op and everyone is asking me everyday how things are going. It is frustrating i hate being asked escpecially right now. I have only lost 37 lbs and i have stalled for 2 weeks now. I reall really need a fill. actually i real need to be in my green zone like now.


  4. I would like to see a section here where u can interact with other like how they have it on face book. not the games but the chat and individual chat so i could talk with my freiends in real time not just leaving em a message. whos with me? or did i miss it somewhere?


  5. how about getting rid of the naste black skin on my thighs because they rub together. target has some creme for it but i am waiting til i lose more weight.

    Taking a picture neck up but making it so the fat under my chin disappears.

    not shopping at goodwill cuz the big people clothes are cheap

    getting rid of all the medical bills and not having them pile up anymore

    for me buying a bathrobe. always wanted one but cant find any to go around my belly

    oh how about not having to find the huge towels to go around your body after a shower

    I have to turn my body when going into the bathroom or coming out. just noticed i turn out of habit so i just tested it i dont fit just walking in. the door is unussually small but my mother fits through it without turning.

    not having to lift a leg when just bending over to get something off the floor cuz my belly is in the way to just bend over

    not using my chest as a shelf. lol

    grocery shopping is frustrating. I want to buy bad food. after banding i see the bad food as 5lbs of hamburger that is just fat to paste onto my body


  6. I make a breakfast protien smoothie. I use 4 big scoops of yogurt, 2 large frozen strawberries, a third of a banana, a scoop of eas 100% whey protien powder i think 42 grams protien, 3 or 4 frozen crystal light ice cubes made of fruit punch, and some crystal light fruit punch juice to keep thinks runny. then i blend it all. You can not taste the protien. I also throw in my 2 vicoden since i can not swallow them. i can not take anything bigger than a tick tack. It makes a rather large size cup of yummy. It keeps me full for 2 to 3 hours even tho it does go right thru the band. i have only 1 fill and i do not have restriction. when i take my first break at work i eat 1 packet of oatmeal and a wedge of quiche i buy at the deli.


  7. i been looking for a thread on dieting because i to am a bit confused. I am staying away from bad carbs as much as possible. Also i am not eating any fruit. I eat lots of meat even if they are high in cxalories like bacon. mmmm love bacon. I cant figure this out should i just stay away from processed foods and eat only meat fresh vegs and fruits? Or do i even need to diet? Should i just stay away from bread rice Pasta and potatoes like my dr said and everything else is ok to eat. protien first of course. I dont know what i am doing. So for the past week i have just been eating what i want including the rice pasta and potatoes but only a single bite of those. I love Cereal so is that ok to eat? i dont know this is alll just so hard to figure out. I just had my first fill 2 weeks ago and have little to know restriction. I can eat just about anything as long as i chew but if i forget i get stuck so does that mean i have restriction? I am also eating about 2 cups of food at a time. i eat 3 meals a day with 2 Snacks. is that normal?


  8. I have to take lunch to work so i make a few meals at the beginning of the week and freeze em for lunches. I make meatloaf balls. I just make my regular meatloaf mix but i make small balls and put em in the baby muffin pan then bake em, i bake em about 15minutes on 400. cook em to about 150 degrees and take em out they will be very moist. I have only had 1 fill so not any restriction yet. I take 4 balls and about 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese with tad bit of grape jelly and i also take about 1/2 cup applesauce in case i get hungry. I lso make a butternut sqaush at the beginning of the week and divide it into 4 or more containers and take that in if i dont want cottage cheese or applesauce. I make jimmy dean sage sausage pan fry u know. then i mix it with prego and a but ton of italian seasoning and divide it up and freeze it. i dont have any Pasta with it. i t is basically just meat sauce. sometimes i make tuna salad also take along the cottage cheese or applesauce. This week i am tired of the same old same old so i am also looking for some good low carb ideas.


  9. I have been single now for almost a year. I dont go to clubs or bars to meet new guys. I pretty much dont look. I am 29yrs old female and am looking for a good man friend near my age that has the band or is at any point in their journey. I wanna be there for u and i hope u would be there for me. Maybe we could start excersizing together or something. I am just looking for a male friend right now if some thing happens then well something happens. I am not looking for a date just a friend.


  10. I just had a fill 4 days ago. I am back on regular foods. was doing Soup, cottage cheese, apple sauce, slider foods i guess. Well yesterday i had a few bites of chicken breast and the first bite went down ok but then the second one felt like i swallowed a golf ball. I guess it felt like it was stuck. no pbing or slimming but it hurt real bad for about 5 minutes. then it just went away. Is that what stuck feels like? I had 2 slider burger patties for dinner with gravy last night and everything was fine. could the chicken have been to dry? It did have a small amount of BBQ Sauce on it i mean small amount. I have a freezer full of chicken so i hope it is not one of those foods i just can not eat. Please help me figure out what that pain was. oh yeah. I was afraid of the chicken so i was real sure to chew it til it was practicaly dissintegrated. i only have 3.5cc in my band.


  11. I am exactly the same way. I just ate a hamburger and i didnt have any problems with the bread. I am full though well not hungry anymore but not stuffed either. I have a fill 2mro and I am sure after the fill i will no longer be able to eat bread. FYI I dont eat bread rice Pasta or potatoes. but I have had a little nibble here and there just basically expermenting to see what i could eat. I did have the bread tonight as a last meal sorta thing. basically saying good bye to bread. Will let you know how things go after my fill 2mro.


  12. I think you have a good question. I'm still trying to figure out where my port is also. I was told it would be on the left side, above my belly button and more closer to the second incision (not the biggest one). I have felt all over both the incision sites and can't feel a darn thing. I've pushed and pushed and pushed and NOTHING. I also have felt a ridge or something solid pretty much under the larger incision, but was told that they do NOT put the port right under any incision so I'm very confused. When I go in next I'm going to ask where exactly it is. I'm very curious about this and I'd love to hear where you finally locate yours! :rolleyes:

    My posrt is between my breast below my sturnum. there is about an inch and a half insicion there but the port is about a half in south of the incision. I like it there my bra doesnt rub it and niether do my pants.


  13. Today begins my 4th week post op. I actually didnt do the mushie stage at all and i was only on full liquids for about 4 days. was on Clear Liquids for a week. I went in to see the dr 1 week post op and he said i was healing great and doing good and to just do full liquids until i felt like i could handle some regular food. I have not had any sliming or pb episodes. I dont have a fill yet. I go in for a fill in a week. I was really happy he let me skip mushies i was not at all excited aobut the baby food. My advice follow drs orders.


  14. The other day my mother and I went to a buffet i got a small plate of food. It was wierd i had enough for a bite of everything i wanted on my plate. then got up and got a few more bites of a couple things i really liked. no bread rice Pasta or potatoes. I noticed everyone had huge piles of food on their plate they ate all of it then got up for another huge plate full of food then got up again and got like 4 different things for desert. holy cow. they were eating alot well more than alot. it was gross. Then I wondered did i used to eat like that at buffets? I know i didn't eat to much ate home just a rather large plate full of food. now i use the small plates and it seems like i have alot of food but most of the time i cant finish it. I usually sit down with about 4oz of meat and a 1/2 to 1 cup of a green veggie and i cant finish it. FYI I am scheduled for my first fill on oct 4th. I dont think I am going to be going out to eat anymore. the amount of food these people eat is just rather gross. I see numbers of calories and carbs they ingest with every bite and holy crap.


  15. I was very scared about anesthiasa. I talked to my dr. pre op and he said he couldnt give me anything to calm my nerves because i was already on so many pain meds. Surgery day finally got here and i was sitting in pro ep with my family the anasthesia dr came in and gave me a little cocktail. then immediatelly rolled me back for surgery by the time we got to or i was asleep. They put me under while i was asleep(i didnt even get to do the count down) lol. oh well. everything went fine and the next thing i new i was in recovery. It was great but i didnt get to do the countdown that i was looking forward to. I had never been put under and i wanted to experience it.


  16. Hi All,

    I'm 3 weeks post-op and was feeling much better physically about a week ago. All of a sudden now, it hurts around my abdomen when I sit down, as if something is pressing down on something. I don't think it's my port, because that is located higher than where the pain is presenting.

    Anyone experience this before? Is it normal to feel better and then feel worse again? The only reason I can think of is that once I started to feel better and became more active maybe I aggravated something in there or something moved??

    Not sure but feeling concern and since it's saturday I don't think calling the doctor will be much help. I don't have a fever or other symptoms.

    Any thoughts?

    Is the pain a muscle pain and is it near an incision site? I was bent over yelling at the dog the other day an got a bad pinch by on of the incisions near my port and i am guessing i just probably aggravated the incision that is on the muscle. I am only about 2 weeks post op or a little more. i lost count already.
