    Calling all A11s!!

That's great you are feeling the band work. Congratulations on your weight loss. If I could loose 2 lbs a week I would be in heaven. I am stalled again. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be down again. I seem to do that. Loose, plateau, go up a lb then back down. Then I repeat it. It's aggravating sometimes. LOL I think burping is fairly common. I am receiving all those positive thoughts, thanks. We can do this! Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

The problem with getting appointments now is everyone that has met their deductible is trying to get all their medical stuff taken care of before the end of the year. Me too! Chicken is usually bad for me too but a Chick Fil A went down smoothly tonite! Not the bread, it was starting to stick. I was bad and it was good. No, I take that back. I have said that all my life when I ate something I knew I should not have eaten. I will restate my sentence now. I choose to go off my program today and it was good and I really enjoyed it. Now I am back on track. Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

Hi Tammy, Welcome to the thread. Wow you have done very well, 34 lbs is wonderful. It's hard limiting ourselves these first few months with our bands still being adjusted. We are all in the same boat with slow weight loss and plateaus and this is a great place to come for support. Come back and post often. You never know if what you post is helping someone else out there. Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

Hi Jess, I think some people have trouble with beef. It also might be the combination of the beef and bread. I stay away from bread unless it's toasted. I've heard it swells after we chew it and gets gooey. Go ahead and vent. That's why we are all here. Don't go eat chocolate! Remember, we are all trying to stay away from the old habits. Go kick your husband or something. (just kidding) It's hard to sympathize with our plight unless you have been in our shoes and our spouses, while well intended, sometimes don't say or do the thing we need at the time. Love him anyway and don't hold a grudge. Believe me I've been there and done that and have the t-shirt too. Greek yogurt might feel good on your throat. Hope you are feeling better by now. Blessings, GG

My first PB was on grilled chicken. I think it's because it's so dry. From what I've read a lot of banders have trouble with it too. Glad you are seeing some restriction and didn't get stuck. It's about time we all have the bands working for us! Blessings, GG

Hi Bobrocky, Glad to hear that last fill was OK and hopefully this one will be too. I have not ever had that much restriction. My Doc is stingy with the fills, .25cc each time. I think I'm getting close to 5cc. Take it easy today and keep us posted on your progress. We can do this! Blessings, GG

Cakegirl, Wow, you are really busy outside. Great exercise for you. My son has chickens and he lives in our downtown area. They love the fresh eggs and we call him "the chicken whisperer" When he goes in the coop the hens all come running and he squats down and they jump up on his legs and he pets them. Crazy. It's getting cold here and strange to see you talking about gardening there. I am a certified scuba diver too and it was amazing how many weights I needed to dive with my wetsuit on. LOL Hope the fill works for you and you start loosing again. We can do this! Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

Hi Waiting, Welcome to the thread. From your post it looks like you are sticking to the program, drinking water and exercising and doing great, you just hit a plateau. If you look back on previous posts you will see most of us have hit one too. It's normal. Your body is just taking a little break but weight loss will resume. Stay on your program and eventually you will loose again. One of the Dr's quoted on here said it's usually 12 weeks until our bodies adjust to the band. Don't let this small setback upset you. It took a long time to gain the weight and the lapband is not an overnight solution. It takes a lot of hard work and you are doing just that, working hard. Keep it up and stay in touch. There are lots of great folks on here that can help when you need it. We can do this! Blessings, GG

Ouch! 3 times is not good. I agree, the holidays are going to tough but your new fill should help. A lot of us are having plateau's so you're not alone. Stay on the program and you will be OK. Blessings, GG

So good to hear from some of you that have not posted in a while. Everyone keep the good comments coming and if that Dr is correct we are all almost to 12 weeks. Maybe then these bands will do their jobs and we will all start to see significant weight loss. Let everyone know how your fills go and any tips you can pass along. We're all in the same boat. I got stuck last night again. Didn't chew enough and ate too fast. Seems like i would learn but I forget when I get in a hurry. I ended up with a PB. The Papaya enzymes did nothing! II had breast cancer in 1989 at age 39 and yesterday I went for my yearly cancer check up. I'm now 22 years cancer free! Yeaaaah. It's always good to get that over with every year. Praise God. Hang in there everybody. If we stay on the program, drink our water and exercise we cannot stay on a plateau forever! We can do this! Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

 Just wanted to share. After 2 weeks pre-op and 10 1/2 long weeks post op I finally hit 20 lbs today! Yeaaaaaah! Happy dance time. There is something so encouraging about 20 lbs don't you think? It makes me know for sure this is really going to happen this time. Before, the most I've ever lost at one time was 24 lbs so I am really close to breaking my past record. We can do this! Blsesings, GG

Hi Kelly, It's papaya enzymes and they are supposed to help if you get a "stuck" episode. I think they must help with digestion quicker than normal. A lot of banders say they really work. I got mine at Walmart and they are chewable tablets and we can chew at least 4, 6 if we need them. The ones I got taste like a sweet tart and are actually good. You're right. We are all still in the early stages of our lap band journey so try not to get discouraged when that scale doesn't move. Different Dr's tell us to do different things so I'd just stick with the program your Dr has you on as far as snacking. Blessings, GG

    Calling all A11s!!

Oh no! Do they do it in the office or do you have to go back in the hospital? Bummer. I am so sorry. Try and keep you spirits up. It's not the end of the world and just a little blimp on this new journey. Keep us posted on what happens and when so we can pray. Blessings, GG
