  1. Just had my 3rd fill last thursday and am at 4.75cc in 10cc band. I was beginning to think I was too tight up until today. swelling must be down a bit, but I finally can put something other than Water in my mouth without it coming back up later. I have noticed some restriction today, hoping that I am close or at my green zone. I do know that mornings I have to have something hot to drink before I can do anything else... too tight in AM. Throughout the day also cold fluids dont do me well.... but that is OK for me... I will keep moving along and losing weight...

  2. After a fill you are supposed to be on liquids for couple days then mushies for a couple. You will get some swelling following a fill and it will take time to adjust... be patient.... if you can get Water down then you are doing good. if after a few days and no change, then call your doc......

  3. Quit watching the scale.... also change it up a bit... dont do the same exercise and change up your meals... your body adapts to things then maintains. Also, you were just banded so you are not even in the green zone yet, it will take a few fills and A LOT of frustration till you get there. Just go with it and trust what you put in your mouth. Have faith and you will get where you want. I lose 5-10 lbs right away then will stay the same weight for a good 3-4 weeks, it does not mean I am failing, just need some minor changes in habit or re-evaluate what I am eating and what exercises I am doing. Also, may want to increase your work out time. For most people, the first 20 min of workout gets you warmed up. You need to look into 35+ min of cardio workout and maybe some light weight training; it burns MORE calories.

  4. You barely have had the band in..... Relax, this is not a RAPID weight loss... it is a slow methodical weight loss. You have to get into the greenzone before you start seeing significant changes. The fact that you are losing and your inches are changing says quite a bit. Instead of worrying about weight loss, focus on some other project. Dont watch scales, dont count calories. You know that a McDonalds meal is dang near 1000 calories. You know what Proteins and such are... just go with the flow and I promise as you get your adjustments, you will find you are losing the weight.

  5. carbonation on a "regular" basis is more of the issue. As the carbon dioxide from the carbonation expands in your "pouch"; over a period of time you run the risk of stretching out the pouch. As with ETOH, it is more HOW you consume it, if you have eaten, etc.... no changes... Just try not to over-do the carbonation....

  6. I'm still a newbie... banded Nov 9. Only 1 fill thus far and I can tell I am far from the green zone. I have eaten most everything that I used to, smaller protions and really have to chew the food. I have next fill scheduled for next week, hoping to see a greater improvement. I am in bandster hell right now and staying positive is one of the harder aspects.

  7. jane, your band was too tight, that is why you got stuck and could not get food down. You need to go back to your surgeon and they will put maybe 2cc back in. It may take a few fills to get you where you need to be. I had 3cc put in my band on first fill, today feels like there is NO restriction at all. Just dont get discouraged, give it TIME....

  8. I am going for my second on 1/10, First one I felt a bit of restriction for the first 5 or so days, probably swelling, and my first fill was 3cc. The goal is to watch your calories and "CONDITION" yourself for success. The band is only a tool, it will not take your cravings of "bad" food, you can still get hungry, you just have to control WHAT AND HOW MUCH you eat. You must have the desire to lose weight to do it.. .remember only a tool, you are the one that makes the tool work.
