  2. Good Morning to ALL! I know it has been a while -work has been so hectic since we are getting close to year end, plus I had a funeral to attend. I can say all and all things have been going well for me. The funeral... it was good since it was a "see ya later", verses a "good bye" for those of you who know what I mean ;) ! work- is just work ;) I am thankful to have a job that I truly enjoy. So talk to me, how are things going for each of you? today I am down 26lbs 221...

  3. Good Morning! I pray all of you are doing well! I have had to change my process a little to ensure 2 lbs a week weight loss- I sometims have to go back to replacing 2 meals with shakes 2 x's a week which seems to work. have any of you experienced this?

  4. Good Morning! I pray that everyone is doing well! This are doing well for me, I think that I am on a routine now with excercising 3x's a week for 30 min each time on treadmill - now I might seek to add another day to that routine ;)

    Eating prior to fill

I had my first fill yesterday and I was same as you by the 4th week after surgery. it is because the band lossens after you lose each time. So I am expecting 3 weeks of feeling satisfied after a little ( 4oz at each meal) - and maybe by week 4 right before my next fill I will feel this way again. NO WORRIES you will walk out after your fill not being hungry.
  6. 1st Fill complete! I am back to not being hungry again ;) Thank you Lord! So they un-drained my port and to my surprise I had 3.4 in there from surgery by Dr. Reilly so they increased me to 4.4. - they gave be a book, and explained again my 3 sq meals a day - mainly I must ensure that I am not eating no more than 4oz (which is about 1/2 cup) at each meal. So I am learning that when band is tight this is indeed no problem since at most I can eat maybe 5 spoons of food before feeling fu...

  7. Just checking in on you and wanted to say Hi ;)

    Post-op regrets?

Hi there - I too recently got banded on 08/2511 and am a Christian. Please do not beat yourself up. Modern medical advances are not solely for those who do not know God. This is NOT the God we serve. As a matter of fact I am praising God for allowing their to be such medical advancements to help me. Remember, you and I and many others have made a decision to lose weight and this weight lose will allow us to live healthy lives... This said, what matters most is how we live for Christ before, during, and after the band- will this become a locamotive to get us in a place to share the Gospel of Christ more, or get us active to serve more, or will we hide behind selfish intent and leave HIm after we reach our weight loss goals? Thank Him, keep HIm with you doing this whole process, and allow this to be another testimony to another about God's goodness! Personally I shared my decision with 3 other sisters in Christ and I am very happy that I did. many of us, unfortunately feel that being a Christian requires a homie look, and this is as FAR from the truth as EVER. We have Freedom in Christ! You and I are children of the Most High God, & we have made a decision to put our best foot forward outwardly for health sake. So now just keep focusing on the inwardly (relationship with Him) and all will work out within His will FOR OUR LIVES! Remember your quiet time in study daily- it will strengthen you for this journey! Forever His- your sis in Christ Jesus, yolanda -
  10. browneye- see if you ca nfind a doc in usa since I have heard many people who have experience diffculties in getting fills from a usa doc after getting banded in mexico. mine only cost me 9900.00 (majority financed) here in houston, TX- Dr. Christopher Reilly -please just check around before going all the way to mexico for this procedure..

    Paleo Diet for Bandsters

Great site- I have been looking for ideas to learn to eat healthier- I think I will incorporate this. I just got banded 08/25 so I am only 19 days out but right now I am counting my calories and I know for a fact I am not getting enough to lose... right now I am getting only 900 calroes a day which I think has me on a plateau... Thank you so very much for sharing.
  14. I used the previous instructions to include a counter under my about me tab and now when you look I have 2 but only one is accessible and right... help if you can as I cannot delete the other... signed - NOT technically savvy

    Itchy Belly!

I am 18 days post op, and I can say from experience that the itching lasted about 5 days the sitting @ my desk at work had me with sharp pains too for about 4 days then that too stopped. when I eat or drink I too feel like something is going to pop out of my main incision. - I guess this is norm. I am now able to sleep on my tummy comfortable in bed- actually have picked up a nice excercise routine with no pain. (walking on treadmill and light weights) 3 x's a week 30 mins each x. It does get better I promise! remember this is our healing stage Now I want to see the scale move but so far I am happy with the inches coming off.
  17. My scale is not moving but inches are coming off - about 2 inches from hips and 1.5 inches around chest, waist, & thighs each. Soon I will be able to toss that scale and stop looking at it ;)

  18. How are you doing?

  19. HI ALL! So I am on day 14 I think after surgery - still feeling good, excercising on treadmill, 3 x a week- started to jog a little now ;) still kinda uncomfortable for that though... scale not really moving but inches are being lost since clothes, shoes, rings, al fit better ;) and I am measuring - will admit starting to get hungry more in the evenings- so trying to make good choices with mushies - post op release visit scheduled on 09/20 and 1st fill 09/21

  20. If you quit for surgery and stopped for good or picked it back up and side effects...? I am trying hard -
  21. Congratulations - it appears that we had our surgery around the same time. Mine was on 08/25 so I too am just now starting to get a little hungry and looking forward to 1st fill! Hang in there and email me anytime! destined2livelife@yahoo.com

  22. Feeling great! Walked today on treadmill for 30 min. The swelling has went down tremendously! NO more gas in shoulder or under rib, which is a blessing in itself! I am totally looking forward to my 1st fill since I am getting cravings and am hungry... This may subside some since I can start on mushy foods this week- I hope so-
