  1. I also go to True Results Houston - yes, they are always busy so try to see if they will refer you to Dr. Hollister in the interium, I know it only takes 10 min and his office is further but it is worth it to keep you on track. They told me he and Dr. Reilly are supporting one another as well. I agree set yourself appointments 3 months out and set reminders to be safe. if you do not want to go to Doc Hollister then you must call every day...Go On be a stalker :o I would too for my fill ;)

  2. Please do not get depressed- remember why you have done it, right now I am only getting 1 cc in at a time too but 4 weeks apart. I sometimes still fill hungry more than I think I should but I grab Water or 1 of my fat free Jello. I am 61 days post surgery and I too wish that I had more restriction faster but I know the process will be slow just as my weight gain was slow. I hope that I have encouraged you somewhat. Yolanda

  3. I had my first fill yesterday and I was same as you by the 4th week after surgery. it is because the band lossens after you lose each time. So I am expecting 3 weeks of feeling satisfied after a little ( 4oz at each meal) - and maybe by week 4 right before my next fill I will feel this way again. NO WORRIES you will walk out after your fill not being hungry. ;)

  4. For some reason we who are believers tend to have a habit of continually beating ourselves up over everything. I am taking a moment to encourage each and every one of you to stop, pray, and open up to our Heavenly Father in prayer. Share with Him your discouragements over your weight, and your desires to live a more productive life. He already knows anyway... He just wants us to walk in the cool of the day with Him sharing all of ourselves unto Him.

Remember the advances in Medical technology are NOT solely for those who do not believe in God, they are for us too. We are His children, and God wants us to seek Him for everything that He may be glorified in all areas of our lives. Do not allow the enemy to stagnate you in guilt because of your desire and decision to get a lapband. Instead use this as another pillar and testimony to the Goodness of God!

How? Well, I am glad that you asked... ;)

Study daily, pray continually, ask God to allow your lapband to help you become heathier, and look for ways to use even this part of life's journey as a opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ Jesus!

    Luke 11

9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

    Be encouraged!

    Forever His!

    Yolanda

  5. Hi there - I too recently got banded on 08/2511 and am a Christian. Please do not beat yourself up. Modern medical advances are not solely for those who do not know God. This is NOT the God we serve. As a matter of fact I am praising God for allowing their to be such medical advancements to help me.

Remember, you and I and many others have made a decision to lose weight and this weight lose will allow us to live healthy lives... This said, what matters most is how we live for Christ before, during, and after the band- will this become a locamotive to get us in a place to share the Gospel of Christ more, or get us active to serve more, or will we hide behind selfish intent and leave HIm after we reach our weight loss goals?

Thank Him, keep HIm with you doing this whole process, and allow this to be another testimony to another about God's goodness! Personally I shared my decision with 3 other sisters in Christ and I am very happy that I did. many of us, unfortunately feel that being a Christian requires a homie look, and this is as FAR from the truth as EVER. We have Freedom in Christ!

You and I are children of the Most High God, & we have made a decision to put our best foot forward outwardly for health sake. So now just keep focusing on the inwardly (relationship with Him) and all will work out within His will FOR OUR LIVES!

Remember your quiet time in study daily- it will strengthen you for this journey!

    Forever His-

    your sis in Christ Jesus,

    yolanda -

  6. Great site- I have been looking for ideas to learn to eat healthier- I think I will incorporate this. I just got banded 08/25 so I am only 19 days out but right now I am counting my calories and I know for a fact I am not getting enough to lose... right now I am getting only 900 calroes a day which I think has me on a plateau... Thank you so very much for sharing.

  7. I am 18 days post op, and I can say from experience that the itching lasted about 5 days ;) the sitting @ my desk at work had me with sharp pains too for about 4 days then that too stopped.

when I eat or drink I too feel like something is going to pop out of my main incision. - I guess this is norm.

I am now able to sleep on my tummy comfortable in bed- actually have picked up a nice excercise routine with no pain. (walking on treadmill and light weights) 3 x's a week 30 mins each x.

It does get better I promise! remember this is our healing stage ;)

Now I want to see the scale move but so far I am happy with the inches coming off. ;)

  8. Got there @7:17 :D signed -docs nequired - brought to back @9:30 - I was # 2 for Dr Reilly - so he passed by and smiled! - whelled to surgical room @ 10:30 work up @ 12:30 was home by 1:30!

Feeling great! able to keep Water down- NOT hungry at ALL!!!:) I am so happy - cause I thought that I would be hungry since I had nothing since yesterday @ 6 pm.

GAS is defintely in my left upper shoulder and I can feel it moving but NO Pain anywhere else- Thank you all for telling me to walk becuase I am indeed BURPING

I look forward to walking this journey!

Hey got a hug from Lisa @ hospital and it calmed my nerves - also meat I think another Lisa while waiting - I cannot remember he last name so I pray to see her on here as she was post-op and encouraged me very well in expectations too!

well I am gonna walk around house little more and rest - nite nite!

  9. Toally awesome demonstration!

    Thank you!

Found the link. I think this gives a really good visual.

For some people maybe drinking with meals doesn't affect how soon they get hungry afterwards , either that or they have the will power to only eat what they are supposed to and then not eat again till the next meal. But for those of you who are struggling you may want to watch this and then start following this rule. Lack of success may be due to some as simple as not following what for many is a basic rule.

  10. I know this is a personal topic BUT I have to ask in order to be prepared- It appears that I am more constipated now with drinking the Protein Shakes on my pre-op diet. I am also geting 8 glassses of Water a day as I should ...

Does anyone have solution that will benefit me both pre & post op ? normally benefiber (orange flavor with water) helps but it does not seem to be working. last night I went and picked up exlax chocolates ....?
