My parents were telling me I was losing weight and Im like oh no its just the clothes lol then I go on the scale and realized I did lose even more so good as long as I have my approval letter I am set. I didnt want to have to eat a whole bunch to gain before surgery.
  2. Does anyone know, if you are already approved for surgery but your weight goes below the bmi they require because of the pre op diet, can they cancel or stop it?

What Was Your Post Op Diet Like?

Hey thanx so much for your imput Im def going to try and follow your routine. Im T-24 days till I have my surgery but Im trying to work out 4-5 times a week and eat really good just so my body will get used to these habits and it wont be so hard after I recover from the surgery. Do you do a lot of working out at home or are you more of a gym person? Im going to look up the myofusion now Protein shakes seem so expensive so the more I can get for my money the better, do you get it on any specific website. Also what you were saying about building more muscle, I know once I start doing weight trainging and all that I will loose weight but also gain muscle. Now of course Im not trying to be hulk holgan but would you suggest that type of intake for women as well? I want to do whatever is necessary to not have saggy skin lol. Im only 24 so I hope my age and good genes of skin elasticity plays a role but Im going to try my hardest to not go into the realm of having anymore surgeries. Again thank you so much for your advise.
  7. I've been roaming around looking through posts but I cant seem to find any answers Whats it like post op as far as diet? Are you drinking Protein shakes for the rest of your life? Can anyone take me week by week as far as their diet and what they could tolerate. Also what is an appropriate amount of protein to consume? Whats it like a couple months down the line? I have my pre surgery visit like 4 days before my surgery so I want to make sure Im prepared in advance. Thanx =)
  8. Im going to have my surgery during my spring break from school but I was just wondering from everyone out there. What is the cheapest way to get the protein shakes for the 2 week pre op diet. Also for after surgery bc Im assuming I need some then too. I just paid for my school semester and now Im paying the deductible for the surgery so I am really broke. Any suggestions for inexpensive options? Thanks =)
  9. Hey just to chime in I was actually denied twice and had to have my doctor file an appeal through another company to get approved. Don't give up, my doctor was telling me they deny a lot of people before you get approved.

How is the biking going? Im going to get sleeved soon and I would love to have cycling as part of my exercise routine, not mountain biking just on paved trails and such.

    Introduction

Hey just wanted to update I finally got my surgery approved after 1 year of going back and forth with the insurance company. Im waiting on a call back from the doctor to schedule and see what time would be best for me. Im wondering I can just get it done during spring break from school or if I would need more time to recover. Either way Im getting it done and Im so excited and happy. Thanks for all the support !
  16. Hey everyone my name is Leeda, Im 24, living in Orlando. Im on my way to getting sleeved god willing before the end of the year. I've done 6 months of weight loss visits with my doctor, I've lost 20 lbs so far, Im 240 now, and I can not wait to get the surgery. I was originally interested in lap band but after I visited with the doctor he recommended the sleeve and Im sold. Im jumping through the insurance hoops as far as getting the psych and nutrition eval. Im concerned bc when I visited the surgeon their pre determination office said I needed 6 months consecutive of going every month, but when I was going to the doctor some visits she said only come back in 6 weeks. So in 6 months I've had about 4 visits. I've called the insurance company and they say I should be fine with just those visits, but I guess Im hoping for the best planning for the worst. I might have to start my 6 months all over again who knows. Im so glad to meet everyone on here and read the stories because they are so inspirational, everyone keep up the good work =)

    WELLMARK BCBS OF IOWA

First off congratulations ! I too have BCBS of Iowa, and they denied for not having the chronic corticosteriod use as well, I went to ENT who prescribed nasonex and gave me a running prescription to be filled for 12 months. When they say history of chronic use does that just mean I have to be using it for at least a 3 month period? I have a feeling Im also going to run into another snag with this one. Any type of info on that would greatly be appreciated I tried to call them myself and the customer service couldnt even explain it to me. Thanks so much =)

Thats so good =) What kind of hurdles are normal in the first month? Im a little clueless I have read a little about gas and what not. How much water are the doctors asking you to drink? A lot of people say its hard to drink after the surgery, were you a big h2o drinker before the surgery? Sorry, Im just curious =)
