  1. Wow. Just wow! Everyone has such high and amazing aspirations for when they start losing weight! I'm sure everyone will do fabulously! Thank you to those who posted. I know for myself, you reminded me of some little details that I may not have been looking forward to, but am now! I just wanted to say good morning June friends! Today makes one week to the start of our very big month!!! Eeek!!! Can you believe it!?! Good luck. I am starting to pray now for every one of you. It's going to be one wild month!
  2. I envy you. I wish I wouldn't have told any of my coworkers. They are all nasty ladies that will find anything to gossip about. It's a shame. Now I am the office topic and am getting sick of it. It's not that I care what they say (2 of them have had bypass--- they just need someone to talk about). I just wish they would be done with it already. Lol
  3. Sorry! That little rant came from me reading through everyone's goal weight dreams. Lol
  4. It's simply amazing how many restrictions being obese can put on a person. I hate when people just say "well, just eat less and move more!" If it were THAT simple, why would anyone risk their life on the operating table. Sure, I could move more, but my knees stop me. And yes, I could eat less, but unlike any other addiction, I NEED food to survive. I can't just avoid it. Most of America is at least overweight, if not obese. Why is that? Why don't they just eat less if its that easy? Because its not. Especially with a severe addiction.
  5. Kristlynngirl, My surgeon is Anita Courcoulus at Magee! Love. Her! Who are you going to??
  6. Haha bjroberts417, One thing I am totally excited to do is a boudoir photo shoot for my finances wedding gift after I hit goal weight. I won't start planning our wedding until I know I will be skinny and look pretty in my dress. Lol pathetic, I know.
  7. Time for a a little Q&A! What is everyone's biggest dream out of getting RNY in June?? -- maybe wear a pair of shorts, just be skinny, or even to spark some extra fun in your relationship with your new (hopefully more flexible) body?? haha Mine is to FINALLY not be "the fat girl". Holy moly am I ever excited to drop that title! Lol as long as I can even remember, I've always been the token day girl in every room. My 2nd is to be able to buy a "normal" Halloween costume from an actual costume shop. For years I have been inventing my own and I can't wait to just buy one and feel like a hot honey!
  8. WrightNow, I am from Pittsburgh, PA! (GO Steelers!!!) lol and I know what you mean. It makes me feel like I won't be alone on the chopping block come D-day. Lol I'm so excited I can't stand it! I went through my lap band removal surgery 2 months ago only to wake up and find out they couldn't do my RNY in the same surgery, so here I go again! Lol I DID find the silver lining though--- we got a new boss at work and he is (no lie) the devil. So while he figured himself out, I'll be lounging out at home! Haha
  9. WrightNow! We are surgery buddies!
  10. Good luck!!! Will pray for a smooth ride!!
  11. All is a go for June 5th!! Yay! my surgeon did scare me a bit when she said I may need an open surgery due to all my scar tissue from getting my lap band out. Hoping that doesn't become the case. :/
  12. Thank you so much! Any prayers are appreciated!
  13. I'm so nervous for tomorrow. It's my last appointment before RNY on June 5th. I had my lap and out on March 18th and had to wait for the RNY cause I had too much scar tissue when she got inside my stomach. Well, I have gained almost 10 pounds in the past month cause I've had zero restriction. It's been SO hard controlling my hunger. Everything is good with insurance and its all planned (have FMLA and everything). I'm jut worried she's going to see how much I've gained and put a halt to it. I can handle anymore disappointments. Ugh.
  14. Yay!!!! I'm going a little crazy today-- only 3 weeks away!!! *dancing around like a mad woman*
  15. Time for another June surgery round up!! Wow! This group has expanded tremendously!! That's seriously exciting!! June 3 Lisa R. Lol so SO glad this group is growing! That just means more people are on their way to being the healthy, amazing people they are and deserve to be!!!
  16. People call themselves "losers" after they get surgery and start losing weight. Lol so in that case, it's great to be on the losers bench!
  17. Just to let all of our new friends know--- I have some Mother's Day festivities today, but I will do another June round up when I get home tonight so we are all aware of each others surgeries!
  18. Ms_kb178, I'm sorry your surgery got pushed off. That must be disappointing. welcome to the June group though!! We are pleased to have you!! good group of peeps right here!
  19. Congrats! I pray your surgery and recovery are easy! good luck!!!
  20. That's great!! Congratulations! It will all be so worth it for all of us! Just think about how you will feel and look a year from now! I almost can't even fathom the thought of even being under 200lbs! I haven't been there since elementary/middle school! How exciting!! What has been the most challenging thought for everyone here? Mine has been just wondering how I will feel skinny... It's such an odd thought for me. I never even thought I would see the day when I won't be "the fat girl" in the room.
  21. Good to go!!! Yayyy! Work, my surgeon, and insurance approve of my surgery on June 5th!! Sooo excited! This is really happening!! :D
  22. So I finally got my date for RNY-- June 5th! Yay! Butttt... All of my coworkers have the flu-- and I mean BADLY. None of them will stay home so it's slowly working its way through the office. I'm afraid I'll get it right before surgery. My office mate (who sits less than two feet from me, of course) has it the worst. She said her fever was 102 last night and she sounds/looks just awful. How can I politely say that I realllly don't need to get sick right now and maybe if she's THAT sick, she should stay home... Ugh.
  23. Exactly one month to the day for me!!! Ackkkkkk!!! I can hardly hold my excitement in!!!! My poor fiancé! He's such a trooper listening to me nonstop and being supportive through it all!
  24. Transformingbri, I can totally feel you on that. My fiancé joked that with the way I'm eating, I'll end up gaining 30 pounds before surgery. Haha I had a lap band and they took that out a few weeks ago. Now I'm in the process of waiting for the bypass. I'm living it up though! It's so nice to be able to eat without having it get stuck and coming back up, so I'm pretty much in heaven! Hahaha I am concerned that I'll gain a ton and my doctor will put a stop on everything though so I need to find a way to control myself (at least until my last appt with her on the 20th!) lol What do you want your "last meal" to be before surgery??
  25. If I were you, id show up at my cardiologists office and ask for a letter. Tell them it's the only thing holding you back and you won't wait anymore. I work in an oncologists office and sometimes things get busy and the "more severe" cases get priority over something like an approval letter. So my suggestion is just keep on them! Be annoying! don't be afraid! Haha
