Thanks for the input. Just an update...doing a bit better today, but still BARELY getting down the liquids! Mushed up Popsicles are my favorite! Deep breaths are helping!
-
I was banded 2/15 and having the same situation. I physically feel great but can barely get liquids down. I have noticed deep breaths are kind of helping. I too am now allowed FULL liquids but not yet for me! I also noticed Popsicles mushed up in a cup is working.

I am feeling great but I really expected to be getting something down by now! I am honestly having trouble with more than a couple sips of broth or Water. I just feel tight or full and it wants to come up...foamy! Not really throwing up...I think it isn't getting through the band fast enough as I am still swollen?! But...like I said...I feel good. Just noticed deep breaths are helping. Any other suggestions? I am walking...been out and about quite a bit.

Hello Fellow February Bandsters! I am so excited to have my surgery tomorrow. The two week pre-op shakes weren't so bad...and now I am all set for surgery in the morning! I hope all goes well
-
My surgery is tomorrow too! I am super excited! I can't wait
-
I lost at WW and gained it back...it didn't matter. Just the fact that you tried for a period of time and now need to lose again (I think).
FYI - I am on day 7 of my pre-op shakes - my surgery date is Feb 15th! I started this whole process in Sept with my seminar.

Hi Kristy...I also used my weight watchers for my 6 months diet. I couldn't find my latest tracker book (I had to have proof of 6 months within a couple years) so I actually went to the WW meeting location and asked them if they could print out my weigh ins.
At first she told me she didn't have the ability to print it out? They were able to pull up the screen with all of my weigh ins from day 1...way back. Then she tried to print them and for some reason only the first page would print (I kept that as it had the dates I needed for most of them...read on)?! Then, I asked if she could just one by one print out the labels for the prior 6 months (not as bad as it sounds - about 24 of them)...she did and was real nice about it. She just kept them all on one big long strip and I took them and taped them to a couple of sheets of paper. But...be warned...when my lables were printed the date always showed the day she printed them all off...so I wrote down the dates next to them. You can tell they are not all one date though as it showed the current weight and the weight loss (or gain).
Also, I would suggest going in when they aren't busy with weigh ins right before a class! I also told the WW lady I NEEDED them for insurance. One more thing...I called WW Corporation and they suggested I go to the meeting place I weighed in at. I turned in the payment proof from WW Corporate along with the WW labels I pasted on paper and dated and the first sheet and got approved!
Good luck!

Way to go Amanda!

Well...here I am on day 6 and the Protein Shakes aren't too bad...but I am sick of them! I am not hungry...but need some flavor. So...I have my strawberry lemonade crystal light...I am practicing sipping
-
My day is Feb 15th too! I am also on day 6 of pre-op...3 Protein Shakes a day. I am not hungry...but I took a sip of mine this morning and threw it up. I guess I am sick of the taste and smell of the shakes. I then plugged my nose and downed the rest with no problem. Needless to say I am not looking forward to lunch!
But...I am down 5 pounds, so...it works!

I love to read this...I was wondering how I was going to live without Aleve
-
Mis73...does it matter? I am curious. I have found in reasearching and my doctor said that the aleve and advil is not good pre-op due to bleeding during surgery...and not good post-op as it can irritate the pouch easily?!
-
My doctor told me only Tylenol (Acetaminophen). I just bought some today as I always used Aleve and/or Advil. Never have been a fan of Tylenol.
She even said to switch now...as my surgery is scheduled for Feb 15th!

Hi there...I am 42 years old from Lansing, Michigan and am looking to lose about 100 pounds. I like to walk and workout and in the past I would lose about 30 pounds, and eventually gain it back. I am quite social, live alone and am single. I am sharing this information as I am looking for a mentor with a similiar situation, thinking that might be most helpful?! Maybe not?!
I am schedule for my lap-band surgery on Feb 15th. I start my pre-op Protein shakes on Wednesday.
I have done a bunch of research and really feel ready for this. I am excited
I would love to get a mentor to show me the way to success! Anyone interested?

Hi there! I have been researching, reading blogs, talking to support people...trying to get ready for my Feb 15th surgery! I start my pre-op diet Wednesday.
My question to all you successful bandsters is: What should I get/do before the surgery that I will want/need right after?
I have 2 weeks of shakes for post-op (just like the 2 weeks pre-op) and I bought sugar-free popsicles. Basically, the rest of my refrigerator is empty (I live alone).
I did buy some tylenol today...as I was a fan of Advil and Aleve.
Any hints? Tips? Things you wish someone would have told you?
Thanks! Getting super excited

I have a pre-op diet...3 Protein Shakes a day for the two weeks before sugery. So, next Wednesday I start them. Honestly, I don't think I will LIKE it, but...it almost seems appealing to not have to think about what to eat or shop. Can't wait for my surgery on Feb 15th!
-
Welcome! I love that we have a group! My surgery date is Feb 15th! I am looking at your information. You have moved quick I went to my first seminar in Sept, went through classes, medical tests, etc...and just submitted my insurance a couple of weeks ago, got approved late last week and got my surgery date yesterday! Super excited
-
Keep up the good work! I was wondering about headaches...due to not eating!? I guess I haven't worried about it as I am still on food...and just got my date so I am still at the excited stage of starting my shakes on Feb 1st...not to mention my surgery on Feb 15th!
-
I just started a February 2012 Bandster group. I didn't find one...was there one I wasn't able to find?
-
Yeah...just got my date, February 15th. Super excited!
