Well I'm one week post revision and I'm very thrilled the band is gone. Of course surgery is surgery and I'm trying to find my feet and level out. I am very surprised by how little I eat and drink. I really do have to make myself drink. It helps to have my husband stay on top of this with me. I'm still sleeping a lot, Constipation has been a HUGE issue until I took a laxative and now I can't hardly stop, lol. Which makes me shaky and wobbly. I'm sure it's because I'm getting dehydrated very quickly, so more drinking. Oh and major major HALLELUJAH, NO INDIGESTION ! I am pleased add I can be, just slowly getting over the hurdles and I know,I will. Best wishes and prayers for you on your journey. O:-)

I received my band in 2009 and after struggling with constant indigestion and losing weight and gaining weight, I will get a revision on Thursday March 26! Insurance won't pay so that leaves it up to us, to pay out of pocket. I am on my liquid diet and struggling but trying to stick with it. Here's to another new beginning.

I didn't know that there was a class action law suit concerning lap bands... However, Drs... etc, all PUSHED lap bands and i wasn't offered another option.... I am waiting to get in to see a dr about getting mine taken out....

I'm also considering the revision from lap band to sleeve. Trying to get set up with a reputable doc and surgeon. Keep us up to date on your progress. My band is completely full and I'm in failure and gaining. Very frustrating. Thx. DebI'm only a week out from my revision and no issues. My Dr said there was some scar tissue but he was able yo clean it all out and doing the sleeve was easier because of that.

Joan,
Hi, my name is Debbie, and I am searching for some sort of support group in this area.. Do you know of one? I had my surgery in 2010 and am now struggling and need to get back on track. I appreciate ANY info you might have on support groups.
Thanks bunches,
Debbie.

I have a amazing fill nurse... My surgeon told me that I was a lapband failure... I was hurt, angry and depressed. I spoke to my nurse after almost a year... She told me
1. You've LOST 40 lbs.
2. Diabetes is gone.
3. Fibromyalgia is in remission.
4. You are in so much better health now, than you were when you got your band.
5. Lets get you a small fill and hut that sweet spot.
She gave me a small fill and it was perfect.... She told me that a failure is when there is a leak. And when you need a fill. I met a lady that day at the office and she told me that, she just needs tighter fill for hers to work... We are all different and for anyone to suggest that you are lazy, irresponsible or otherwise, is completely rude, insensitive and idiotic... Please go get another fill. Success is so close.... Only failure to accept is if you have a faulty band. Otherwise keep swimming, you'll get there.

Thank you... I have a wonderful fill nurse and she met me on her day off and she removed 2cc's of fluid... I slept without the cpap... I ate a meal without throwing up and all in all I am extremely better. Hot tea has helped me get through many rough moments... Thanks again...

Thank you all for the encouragement to have Fluid taken out of my band... I have a wonderful fill nurse, and she met me on her day off and removed 2cc's of fluid... The indigestion has stopped and I was able to eat a meal, without sliming or removing the plug... It really was the first time in 2 years.. She told me that I am all swollen and that it will take some time for the swelling to go down.. Yesterday my port was sooo sore after she removed the fluid... today it is much better, the swelling of my esophagus has gone down and I no longer feel that it is into my throat and mouth... Disaster diverted... Thank you all...

I relate to all of these symptoms... I have had to start sleeping with my cpap machine on, so that I won't choke on my saliva at night. Reading about serious medical problems concerning acid reflux and tight banding... I'm going to get some taken out asap. Not happy about it but much better than being miserable and jeopardizing this whole lap band journey.

Reading this post has helped answer some of my own questions... I have remained at the same loss for about a year... After almost a year without a fill, I went and had 0.3 cc put in, I was great for about 2 weeks... went on a trip and have thrown up everything for almost 9 days... I keep hoping I'll get re-acclimated, now that I am home... NO SUCH LUCK... I haven't lost hardly any weight... It is so difficult to get Water, tea, etc... down and it never stays for more than 15 min... ughhhhhh

Brigiter, I was in your place until 2 weeks ago. My band was removed, hiatal hernia removed and gastric sleeve procedure done. I woke up from surgery and NO INDIGESTION OR GERD! I am beyond thrilled. I do not miss my band but I don't feel it anymore, yay. I literally went though everything you mentioned from October to now, gaining about 5lbs every few weeks. Insurance didn't pay for the sleeve. So it was a sacrifice that we decided to come up with the money and have the surgery. Money will spent. Do it! You won't regret it. At least I don't. Best of wishes for you on your journey.
