  1. Well I think it depends...I am just over 2 weeks out and my surgeon has me on a 600 calorie limit until I get close to goal (I consider my surgeon fairly strict). It took me a while to reach 600 calories tho.

Some people I see are further out and eating between 1000-1200 calories daily. Not allowed for me....

I would just concentrate on staying hydrated and maybe clarify calorie limits with post op visit.

  2. So I am just over 2 weeks out with surgery on 12/7.

I am on mushies finally and I have stalled....

I did take measurements before surgery and I know I am losing inches but the scale is not moving.

I did not have a preop diet and my BMI at time of surgery was 49.

When I got home I lost all my Water weight pretty fast and was back at surgery weight within two days

and then I would weigh myself several times a day and always see it dropping so fast. It was exciting!!

I know I should not weigh several times a day it was just so fasinating to see it drop after all these years.

I have been stuck for roughly a week and then now I have gained 2 more lbs. WTH??

I had a great recovery with being able to drink and eat with no issues. I do feel restriction with mushies.

I have a 32f bougie. I am tracking my intake.

Anyone else have a stall this soon after surgery?

  3. Mine was much less than expected. I had my gallbladder out in 09 and I was cussing up a storm right out of recovery. When I was in recovery for my vsg I don't really remember much although I must have been funny cause the recovery nurse was laughing as I was talking to him. I was up walking around very soon after I got to the room. Yes, I was sore but nothing I could not handle. I do not consider myself to have a high pain tolerance.

  4. Hi all, I was sleeved at 730am this morning by Dr. Jossart. I have a huge private room with a great view of San Francisco. I have had wonderful nurses so far.

I am feeling better than I thought I would. Just sips of Water today which hard cause I seriously cannot art awake. Little discomfort with my stomach when drinking but other than that no pain with incisions. Not even using my morphine pain pump.

So I need you all to slide over on the losers bench to make room.

  5. When I went to my first information session for the sleeve one of the bits of info the nurse gave us was that we needed to have a good form of birth control ready because fertility goes way up as the weight comes off. My Dr asks that his patients not get pregnant for two years after surgery. I don't know if this is a standard or just what he thinks is best.

Not sure if thats the standard...my surgeon asks that his patients don't get pregnant for 1 year. I even had to sign a contract lol :)

  6. i also have a Vitamin D deficiency and i take 2 1.25 mg of drisdol weekly, which equals 100,000 IU if i did the math right. Im thinking the doc wouldnt have prescribed it if you could find it over the counter. Good luck finding the answer.

I was able to find this on Vitalady.com. My first surgeon did labs and never mentioned anything about taking vit d even though I was low in my my numbers. When I switched surgeons he has all his patients take 50,000IU weekly.
