  1. What your Nut said makes lots of sense! If you're already feeling restriction then a fill shouldn't be necessary. I've already had Pasta, veg sushi, meatballs, bread, even whole wheat pita with sauce and cheese on top (my healthier version of pizza). I don't get much restriction or fullness...........i've already gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks since being able to have more food choices. 2 more weeks left before my first fill.

  2. So sorry that episode happened to you! Am very surprised it happened with no fill!! I've been able to eat most anything, i know i'm not chewing as well as i should, been swallowing larger amounts than i should, and i've not had any episodes. I've been taking it for granted that i have no fill but i'm so glad you shared your experience because it forces me to pay more attention and not take things for granted.

  3. Hey all! I'm so happy to hear many of you are doing so well!

I was banded on the 19th and don't have my first fill till Nov 7th. Frankly, it could not come fast enough cuz i'm ready.

Even though i can get most foods down with no problems, i am trying really hard to listen to my stomach and stop when eating i'm feeling satisfied. I'm also trying very hard to eat slowly and concentrate on my bites. I gained 2 lbs last week and will probably see a gain tomorrow when i weigh myself (i do it every sunday) but am not discouraged because i know i'm on the road to success and it will take some time to get back on the losing track!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

  4. Ok. Glad to hear it's not just me! I got an email from the PA saying what Brynne said. The itching is from the incisions healing and the rash type bumps are probably just from the surgical glue/tape that they used to cover the incisions. Let me tell you guys, i feel like i have like 100 mosquitio bites or poison ivy on my stomach. It's so uncomfortable!!! No one ever said anything about this

  5. Need2lose--i was given an antinausea medicine in my iv that makes oral bc non effective. I was told this during my preop appt and the day of surgery. I had yo sign a document saying I understood this.I do not remember the name of the med bc my dh has a vasectomy so thats no an issue for us.

Thank you. Hmm, when i told the nurse that i was feeling nausseous (they were supposed to give me something in preop but someone forgot...), she gave me something in my IV but didn't say anything about what you were told. We'll have to figure something out.

  6. Hey all! I am with you guys too. Because i have no restriction, i find i am able to get most foods and amounts of foods down. I honestly thought i'd feel SOMETHING to let me know when to stop but i really don't. Do i eat like i did before the band? No. But i'm still eating way too much and my first fill is not till the 7th!! I feel like i'm going to gain all the weight i worked so hard to lose during the liquid phase of the diet.

It's true. With all the info i got from the doc's office, no one said anything about this bandster hell period. I weigh myself every sunday morning..........am debating whether it's worth it to get on the scale tomorrow.

  7. Need2lose2--our ports sound like they are in the exact same place. I, too, was surprised by it. I thought it would be more to the side. My dr said he placed it where he did bc i didnt have a lot of fat on my side area near my ribs and he felt if he placed it there that it would show quickly. We will see.

It's just weird that it's front and center......it's the first place that it will show once the fat goes away. Guess we have to trust the docs.
