  1. Hello....Duh...should of figured out your state! I'd love the clothes but I'm concerned how much it would cost as I live in Missouri! What do you think? Thanks, Tracy w.
  2. Hi all, Just calling a roll call to check in on our sucesses or frustrations! Me...I started at almost 440lbs...lost 45 on 6 month diet for insurance and then between the 3 day pre-op and since have lost 36 more with adds up to 81 total. I have had a month stall but the scale began moving again today a bit. I eat around 1000 cals a day, 60-75 g of protein, drink the 64oz+ and try to stay under 50g of carbs....I'm thrilled with the progress but bummed that nothing happened for a month...how about the rest of you! Tracy w surgery the 21st
  3. Hey, My hubby has been doing testastrone shots for a the past year. He had his VSG surgery in Aug and he is wondering if at some point he might loose enough weight to not need to get the test shots anymore...what do you vets think? Thanks, Tracy w.
  4. Hi guys, Has anyone tried Curves? And have you seen that they now have a combined Zumba with Curves somehow.....any thoughts...is this a good way to go? Thanks, Tracy w.
  5. Hey,' I have the chewable chewies right now and I'm 2 months out from surgery....when were you able to swallow calcium pills and what kind did you buy when you could? Tracy w.
  6. Lil Miss Diva, How many pills a day do you take???? Tracy w.
  7. thanks for responding guys...it just seems like there are so many things to address right now...somethings gotta work! Tracy w.
  8. Hi all, Here is my story. Started out at almost 430lbs...lost 45 in 6 month Dr supervised stuff. Lost 10 more with 3 days pre-op liquids and 20 more since my surgery on July 21st. So now I'm at 364 or so. I've been stuck there for over 2 weeks and I'm not sure if some of the things that is going on is contributing. Went off glucophage for PCOS, haven't had my birth control for over a month. I've been drinking Gatorade for my 1st 28oz of liquid with lots of ice (too much carbs or cals?) I know I have eaten too many carbs on some days and then the suckest one of all...can't exercise too much because of fissure (butt pain) at times and an incision that has taken forever to heal! I'm happy with my progress so far but starting to get irratated because it feels like there are so many potential issues...I don't know which one is hurting me if any???? HELP! Thanks guys, Tracy w.
  9. Thanks for asking this....I just realized this myself this week and I'm about 6 weeks out and can EAT pretzels! Glad to know I'm not a freak either! Tracy w,
  10. Amen kids....I'm almost 6 weeks out and I have gained a few pounds and not lost in a week....maybe I've had a few too many crackers...but geez....I'm irratated!!!!! I guess it's par for the course though! Tracy w. Also my hubby had surgery two days ago...yippee!
  11. you look fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tracy w
  12. Hi all, I was at a seminar last year and saw a youngish looking woman being wheeled around by her 20 something daughter in a huge wheelchair and she still didn't fit in it. It was a huge wake up call for me. See, I have been overweight all my life and it never stopped me....even to the point of traveling around the world twice to China to get my girls. But this picture looked like my future. Did I go through all it took to get my girls just to have them wheel me around when I'm older? Heck no!!!! So now I'm a month out of surgery and with my pre-op weight loss I have lost 75lbs. Can't wait to WALK down the aisle at my daughters weddings! Onward....Tracy w.
  13. Hi, I had the same problem....so I contacted an urgent care right down the street and asked if I could come in and use their digital scale once a month and then told the dr. She just wrote it down and it wasn't a problem. I had my surgery last month....keep going, you'll get there! Tracy w.
  14. Where do you buy this Bariatric Fusion???? HOpe it goes better for you! My fellow firecracker! Tracy w.
  15. Hi! I'm so happy you posted! I have had a heck of a time swallowing pills and it has had me stumped! I am about a month out now and had to be in the hospital over the weekend (I got an intestinal bug) and a pill they gave me floated around in my throat for 9 hours! When were you able to swallow pills again....I'm scared to try any time soon! Thanks again, Tracy w
  16. Wow Adri and others ....thanks so much! That is a great list of stuff! i just called the GI guy to find out about soy stuff so we will see about that. I'm just shocked that I need to do all this research on my own and that a GI nurse couldn't suggest Lactaid or soy ect...duh??? I guess because I got so sick on the skim milk with a protein shake....my mind will not let me do a protein drink...after ending up in the hospital for the second time in a month...I just don't want any reaction to the protein whey either....are we sure it's not something that could have caused the problem I described above???? Thanks again, Tracy w.
  17. Well, this just keeps on giving! Now I find out that I can't have any milk products and at my stage of food progression alot of my options are milk based foods...joy...now what am I going to eat? Also I don't feel comfortable with whey protein because I think it is made with some kind of milk? Does anyone know? Any ideas on soy or rice milk choices? HELP! Thanks, Tracy w.
  18. Hi msmomof3, I was told specifically NOT to use Viactiv....it tates great but if you check out the calcium it uses it is a carbonate not a citrate form of calcium. I was so bummed because it tastes so good.....good news....on celbrate vitamins.com you can get the same kind of chewable chocolate or lemon bites. They are called "chewy bites" I ordered some and am awaiting them! God Bless, Tracy W.
  19. My surgeon said that your PCP has to lower them...he said docs get teritorial and so my PCP took me off the Lisinopril and wants me to check BP in a week and then she will lower the other two...in other words she has a plan! Check with them!
  20. Hi all, Here's the backstory...surgery July 21st....moved up food stage to yogurts, crackers, soups and cheeses ect. On my 3week 2day post surgery I woke up and drank a 4oz protein shake with skim milk (I have done this before but it had been about 5 days) and then proceeded to get sooooo sick...nausous all day....started throwing up in the evening and proceeded to throw up stomach acid and bile until I went to ER the next morning. Surgeon has a CT done and says my surgery (sleeve) is perfect but I have inflamation in my instestines and says I need to see a Gastro guy. I was admitted for a 23 hour observation, surgeon says that inflimation means Crohn's. Well, the Gastro guy says he see's this about 5 times a month and that the two camps don't necessarily agree that one can be a precurser to the other at times. Well, the Gastro guy says that 99% of the time it is NOT Crohn's but a bug so I have to be on a drug for a month and then resee him. MY QUESTION: Could my reaction to the protein shake plus skim milk have caused such a allergic reaction to make me begin to get sick and then ultimatley dehydrated with ended me in the hospital for the weekend? I'm a little concerned to try the protein shakes again although I have been told to stay away from too much milk products...kind of tough to do because in my meal progression, much of it is milk based. Anyone out there lactose intolerant after surgery, how did you know? How did you progress from there because even if I am not for the long run...I kind of have to behave that way for now. Thanks for the support and help! Tracy W.
  21. Hi all, My surgery was 3 weeks ago today....I can go up and down stairs with ease.....I have a lap!!!! But the greatest is I can go off one of my high blood pressure meds!!! Yipee! This takes determination and resolve and some short term sacrifice but the rewards are worth it! Thanks for all the support! Tracy W.
  22. HI, I was just told I could take Viactive....which is a chewable soft like candy....they have chocolate and caramel and Walgreen's sells the generic....they are awsome for the calcium three times a day! I've heard some folks take gummy vitamins too! Tracy w
  23. What is her blog????? Tracy W.
  24. Hey all, So when did your doc tell you that you no longer had to crush pills? And when if ever can we take our vitimins and chewable calcium in a different form????? Oh and how soon were you able to stop drinking the protein crap and eat enough protein in a day???? Thanks, Tracy W.
