  1. Hi all, My surgery is July 21st and I went to my nutritional class this am....well, I was pleseantly surprised that the dietician "knew" so much...since I have been on here the last 6 months I wondered how educated these folks are...also I was shocked that 90 percent of the ladies in there were getting the lapband....I wanted to stand up and scream.....NO..don't do it! Research first! The good news is that I did meet one lady who is getting sleeved one week before me and we can support each other...yea....onward and upward...two more weeks! Tracy W.
  2. Yea...I'm soooo happy for you! Onward and upward enjoying your life!!! TRacy w.
  3. I don't get it ....I really did think the dumping thing was for gbypass people....I thought not having to deal with this is one of the benefits of the vsg. So does it get better the longer out of surgery you are? Thanks, Tracy
  4. Hey Kristina, My insurance told me the same thing and come to find out that the last six pages of the packet sent to insurance from Surgeons office did not come through....of course that was the six pages documenting my six month Dr. supervised visits....Make sure of the number sent from surgeons office and then call the insurance back and make sure they have all your pages....my packet was 26 pages long all together....dont' worry....it's frustrating but you will get past it.....once they realized the pages were missing, I was approved in two days! Tracy W.
  5. Thanks everyone....much appreciated!!!!! Tracy
  6. I wanna join in!!! My surgery is July 21st....yippee!!!!! Am I the only one???/ Tracy w.
  7. Hi all! I'm scheduled for July 21st, this has been a LONG time acomming....I have a low level of exitment and anxioty happening! I feel like I did right before I boarded a plane to China to get my daughters....we went twice!!!! New life...here we come!!!! Tracy W.
  8. Hey, I'm getting sleeved on July 21st! I was wondering how long after surgery did you begin the acid reducer pill, and the Miralax if needed and all the other suppliments people talk about for hair and skin and what not? What if you Dr doesn't presribe a acid reducer like Previcid....did you just get one OTC? Where on the site is the place that shows you where to order all the samples of protein drinks? Any great advice from you BTDT folks that you think I should know???? Thanks....looking forward to the loosers bench!!! Tracy W.
  9. You go girl....as you know I'm right behind you!!!!! Keep us posted and you in our prayers! Tracy W.
  10. Hi, I get everything your saying....my surgery is July 21st! I have swayed at times because I would love to lick this one on my own with God's help but then I finally told myself.....if I'm going to do this just once....I want to buy the most expensive tool to fix my "engine".....not one from K-mart! So onward and upward...yea for us! Tracy w.
  11. Thanks for the heads up! TRacy
  12. Hi, I'm about your size, a little smaller now after the pre-op loss...my surgery is July21st and I also love God! Let us know how you are doing! Tracy

  14. Thanks guys....this is such a great community!!!!!
  15. Hi all, I've been at this since Nov 2010 and finally I was approved by Cigna and got my date today....July 21st!!! Yipee!!!! Not sure what to think, it's been a long time coming and I'm excited for a new beginning but not looking forward to the first month or so....I know....everyone says that!!!! I wanted to do this by the end of this month but took to long for approval and my daughters both have b-days in early July so I want to be able to do parties ect! Well, thanks for all the support so far and I'll sure I'll be needing more as the days pass....God Bless, Tracy W.
  16. No matter what, you hang in there girl!!! You are doing this for you and your husband...so keep up the good work and don't get discouraged! Tracy W.
  17. Thanks guys for the responses. My girls are going to be 10 and 5, they are from China and we worked very hard to get them! I probably need to resign myself that I will need to wait and that it would be the best idea. I've waited since Nov of last year...what is a few more weeks? Thanks again, Tracy W.
  18. Hi all, Well, I hope to be approved tomorrow and I've got to decide if I want my surgery before both of my daughters b-days or after. My daughters b-days are July 13th and 20th. I THOUGHT that if I could get it done by the end of June and could get all the b-day stuff done I could be recoping and do the b-day parties if I'm just sitting there. (Hubby would help). I thought that maybe if I had two weeks before the b-days this would work.....now I'm wondering if I should wait until after which would mean I'd have to wait until after July 20th! The other issue is my hubby is going after me and we think a 4-6 week window is enough so if I have to wait later in July that means he has to wait until late in Aug!!!! AARGGGHH! What do you all think? Any thoughts? Thanks, Tracy W.
  19. Well, that seemed to go well! I have been on the 4 a year period bc pill for a LOng time. Only we use some pill called Reclipsen and I just start a new pack and plan my period when I want to deal with it....so I LOVE IT!!!! But my concern with this is that I have read on here that bc pills are not as effective the more overweight you are and that with the rapid weight loss, it doesn't work as well and then whamoo your pregnant!!!! Before you want to be and my case I don't want to be at ALL!!!! I'm 46, my hubby is 55 and we have two daughters from China and that is enough for us....so with this in mind, I'm not sure what to do? My OB says for my hubby to get fixed! What to do??? Tracy
  20. Let us know what happens...not sure what I'm gonna do either! Tracy
  21. So true!!!!! So true....where's the helicoter...LOL!!!! Tracy
  22. Thanks guys for all your responses...I love the talent story...very true. I'm have made my own decision to move ahead and now I am waiting for my insurance to approve it...keep your fingers crossed! God Bless you all! Tracy W.
  23. Yea for you...I'd love it if you could keep me posted on how things are going for the next few weeks....looks like I may be sleeved by the end of June...it's getting close and alittle worried about the first month post-op! Thanks, Tracy w.
  24. Hi to the Terre Haute IN natives...I also grew up there! Moved away in '85 but still have family there...now I live in the St. Louis area....nice to see the old homeplace represented! Tracy W.
  25. Well, this whole birth control thing sucks!!!! I have PCOS, have been overweight all my life, am 46 years old and have two daughters from China. My hubby(who is also doing the surgery), has low sperm count, three grown sons, will be 55 in a week and of course the girls. We have never had to use condoms but I have been on Birth control pills for many years for the PCOS. Now I'm hearing that any homonal type of bc is a bad idea! Are you kidding me??? At this age we have to use condoms or my hubby needs to get a visectomy? Really??? I only have periods 4 times a year and can even pick when....I don't want one every month...whaaaa!!!! Any thoughts? My PCP says for the hubby to get fixed....it may be our only option! Any of you take bc pills after vsg??? Oh, and if you do take bc pills does it help with the crazy periods I hear about on here? And Mirena is tough to put into someone who hasn't birthed no babies...LOL!!!!! Thanks, any ideas appreciated! Tracy W.
