  1. Hi all, What time of day do you take your PPI? Also I am experiencing a strange thing....when I eat well, I don't loose, when I don't eat well....I loose....weird...or is it just my imagination? What do you think? I haven't taken my PPI since a month out from surgery and I don't have any symptoms of needed one but I do get hungrier as the evening wears on? Do I need it? Thanks, Tracy w.
  2. thanks guys...you all the best! I'll keep on...keeping on! Tracy w.
  3. You are blessed sister and I greatly admire your tenacity...wish I had me some of that....I struggle but I'm keeping on. I have a few things working against me, PCOS, underactive thyroid and generally love food! But I do often think about what you say..."squash the fat me!"...cracks me up! Thanks again, Tracy
  4. Lil Miss Diva...so if your hair is falling out the whole time is it growing back in the whole time too? And you hair never looked thin since it is growing back in the whole 15 months too? Thanks! Tracy w.
  5. Hi all, So I finally have the hair loss after 4 months of none....I have made sure I have had the right amount of protein since day 2, lost about 10 lbs a month on the average and taken my vitamins and I do understand the resting phase etc of the hair as I'm a trained cosmetologist! But now I need to know what is the best brand of biotin and how much to take...I'm a little traumatized (but I knew it might happen) as my hair is the only thing I've considered pretty my whole life! Been chubby since I was 5, I started at 440lbs and now I'm about 333lbs so I'm not complaining but I'd like to keep my pretty hair....LOL! Thanks for the help! Tracy W.
  6. Surgery was July 21st...lost 45 pre-op and 56 since surgery....total 101lbs!!!!!
  7. Wow what a story and happy ending to a long wait! She is absolutely beautiful! Again wow and congrats! Tracy w.
  8. Where are you and what styles are there? Thanxsl Tracy w.
  9. Congrats to you too my 100lbs lost sister! You look fabulous darling! Tracy w.
  10. Hi all, I began this journey in Jan of this year at 440lbs, I lost 45 on weight watchers for my 6 month Dr. supervised stuff and I have lost 55 since my surgery July 21st. I have bought and worn jeans for the first time in almost 20years! My hubby had this surgery a month after me and has lost 103lbs! We are parents to two lovelies from China and wanted to live long enough to see my girls grow up and walk them down the wedding isle. I feel very blessed that God has led me down this path, it's not a perfect one but I feel my weight loss is in my control for the first time since I was 5 years old. Just go for it....don't let anything stop you! Thanks for all the support through the months and God Bless you all. Tracy w.
  11. Hallelujah...it's a beautiful...day..just a bump in the road! Tracy w.
  12. I have never experienced spasms...but I'm with the last poster....just do protein drinks and water and stay away from the juice for a couple of days. I never felt any staple pulls either...are you meaning internally or did he use staples on the outside of your incisions? I know it is the weekend but they really don't mind if you are calling with questions, I too called more than once. What you are complaining about is not listed in any of the signs for trouble in the book I got from Minkin and the My New Self folks...did you receive one too? Or how about the paperwork from the hospital? If you don't feel comfortable calling over the weekend...just call Mon morning...but I would call...if for no other reason than a peace of mind! Keep up posted! Tracy w.
  13. Who was your dr at Des Peres.....both my hubby and I had Dr. Minkin and everything has been great. I agree you need to call, something is not right and you want to know in your heart that you are good! Call! I will keep you in my prayers! Tracy w.
  14. Wow chickie...aren't you all that and a bag of chips...oops I mean a bag of protein bars! You look fabulous! I'm going to head to Curves too....I need to ramp up a bit...I find if I don't eat enough carbs, I don't loose. Actually I can't tell if I loose more on less carbs or a bit more carbs, but exercise is crucial! You look awsome! Tracy W.
  15. Hi, My husband and I were 450 and 440lbs respectively when we started this process....we had to do a 6 month Dr. supervised diet and we chose weight watchers. We lost about 45 or so pounds prior to the surgery. I had mine in July, his in Aug and we have now both lost 100lbs each. Very happy we did this! Tracy and Tony
  16. Hi, I'm almost 47 and have had an under active thyroid since I was 21. Between my pre0p dr supervised diet and since surgery in July I am 6 lbs away from losing ONE hundred pounds! Go for it! I was told by my specialist that weight loss can help because as your body goes down in weight, less and less of the med will be needed in your body because you have less of a body! No it won't make your thyroid suddenly start working but it can mean less meds in the future. I also have PCOS and neither of these has slowed my weight loss down! Hope it all works out for you! Tracy w.
  17. Wow, so many st Louis folks....go Cards! Sarah did you know that My New Self has a support group on the 2nd and 4th Thurs of the month? Tracy
  18. Hey to you, Well, I've lost about 89lbs since Jan which includes my dr supervised stuff and my hubby(who is a month behind me with surgery dates) is at 92lbs....so on our 14th anniversary we celebrated by sharing fahitas and trying on jeans! I haven't worn jeans in 25yrs! They didn't look great yet but I got them on! I seem to deal with stalls some, he doesn't ever! NOT FAIR!!! Sometimes I get sick of protein and want to eat chips...which I do at times! But I don't want to treat this as a law or something...I just keep on trucking! You look great.. and your right my face is changing too...it's so weird! Keep up the good work! Tracy w.
  19. You look beautiful! Hope I look so well!!!! Tracy w.
  20. HI, I just had my surgery by Dr. Minkin in July and my husband did his August! He is the bomb...just let me know if you'd like to chat about it! Tracy w (St. Peters)
  21. Oh my gosh, I had the broth the second out of surgery! Then the next week I bought two bowls and pureed them over the course of the next several days...not a biggy! Tracy w. Down 89lbs since Jan
  22. Where do you get the chocolate chews for 9.99 a month...gotta know! Thanks, Oregondaisy!
  23. Hi guys, I am doing the nasal spray but there has to be a cheaper way! Is there such a thing as a pill? And I found some folks get liquid....from where???? Thanks, Tracy w PS. And what about Calcium....can you find cheaper ones than like on the bariatric sites?
  24. Hi, Protein Shakes for the rest of your life....I don't think so...I was off them by week 5 post op, so was my husband. We had our surgeries over this past summer. Even my surgeons office doesn't want you on them....they say move on to real food as soon as you can. B12 is no biggy as all. As far as food, I think it is only coconut, celery and that's about it, I think. Rethink it, it's fine and I'm about 2 months out and enjoying the new life!!!! Tracy w.
