    Bye bye stall

Wow Lucy ! this is simply great news. Congratulation. May the stall stay away from you forever !
  2. Not only the 3 week stall, I have perhaps had longer ones thattotally depressed me until I found such wonderful people of this forum. Thankfully 6 week out and I am doing fine inch wise but weight keeps fluctuating before it goes down. But life is simply great post VSG. No diabetic medication, no hypertension medication. Can actually walk 3 miles, feel fit and can actually jog - something that I could never do before.
  3. Though I am losing, I wanted to know if anyone here also has fluctuating weight like I do ? I lose 3 pounds on one day and gain 2 on the next, while overall weight and inch loss is visible and happening, want to check if this is also happening to anyone else and if this is normal. Thanks a ton everyone, joining this forum has kept my sanity in check.
  4. After almost a lllloooonnnnggg 4 week stall the scales are moving again, thankfully downwards. I lost a total of 30 pounds since getting sleeved on Dec 21. Thank you all for the encouragement, but for your support it would have been difficult to stay positive. BMI down from 41 to 36

    Stalls and weighing

Hi, When I hit the stall, I looked into my diet, started reading the labels carefully - high protien and low carbs. Make sure you are not going lower than 800 calories, else the body tends to start hoarding. Had stalled for almost a month. I have switched to low sodium salt and the last week however has been great. Overall 31 pounds lost in 40 days (including no loss for 30 days). On the weighing - my wife has hidden away the scales, I get it every weekend check.
  6. I got sleeved on Dec 21, within 4 days my sugar levels were under control with half the original medication (Metformin). Now after 20 days, my sugar was in full control without any medication at all, the first time in 5 years. I am careful though and check it with my glucometer at least thrice a day. Of course, I do exercise and walk for about 3 miles every day. Getting rid of diabetes medication is the best thing that is happening post-sleeve as my weight loss is slow.
  7. Thanks everyone it feels good not to take pre or post meal medications, a big relief indeed. And yes, Coopersmama you are right - British school in a former British colony !!
  8. I was on very mild pain killers from day 2. Very tolerable, like a tummy ache actually. There is no "space" for cravings, feel full with just small portions. I am consuming about 800 cals/day, mostly protien shakes. Less of carbs. Plenty of walking and Water. All the best to you Margo.
  9. Hello everyone. I got sleeved on Dec 21 and in about 10 days lost over 20 pounds. But now stalling and gained 8 lbs. So from 264 I went down to 242 and am now at 251. Am on very low carbs, 80 gms protien, about 800 calories per day. Walk for over a mile a day. Am feeling very depressed since the weight gain. Hope the stall is normal. I do want to lose weight !
