  1. So I an 4 day post-op and I am getting hungery. I have a protene shake in the am and about 3 hrs later I am hungery again. Last night I woke up at 2 and 5 starving. Here is the thing. When I eat, I cant eat very much. 1/2 can of Soup and sometimes I cant even finish my protene shake. Im full so I stop. I just get hungery faster. I am only eating 3 times a day like they said, but this hunger is killing me. Any sugestions?

I’m exactly 3 weeks post-op. I wasn’t hungry at all for about 3 days. I made sure to do my Clear Liquids and stay hydrated. My throat was really sore so I ate lots of sugar free popsicles. I had a problem with swelling immediately after surgery, before letting me go home my doc had me drink fluids under fluoroscopy to make sure everything was ok. Unfortunately the swelling was such that even liquid wouldn’t go thru the band. I was then given an adjustment (what little saline was in the band was removed) and the Fluid moved quickly. I’m not sure if that’s why I am hungry now. I basically have no restriction. I did have a lot of pain not so much in my shoulders any more but my ribs feel like someone went at me with a bat! I have only lost 2 pounds in these 3 weeks so I am a little discouraged.

Hoping my fill next Tuesday will with help with weight loss and hunger. Praying for no more swelling.

  2. I was so happy to read this and the response!!! I was banded on July 19, 2011 and a cup of food sometimes does not fill me up. I'll stop eating because I know that's supposed to do it but I always want a litte something between meals. I try to make is something healthy and low in fat and sugar but still I want it. I get my first fill next week and I pray it is better.

I am so happy to find others like me here though.

  3. I got my band 7/19/11. My pain seemed to be pretty much gone until yesterday. I came back to work on Monday. Yesterday my left side just under my bra line started to hurt. Got worse through the day. Got home and laid down on my left side. Up popped this knot the size of half a golf ball mabye... I moved around, took a shower, watched some tv with my husband and was fine. Went to bed laid on my left side (BTW the FNP told me to always lay on my left side) and here is the knot again. I turn on the right and fell asleep just fine. About 3 AM I woke from a dead sleep with a sharp pain in the same spot. Called the doc this morning and she says she thinks my port is moving. I work in a hospital other than the one I had surgery in so I had a nurse friend of mine check it out and there doesn't seem to be any infection but the pain! I'm not a baby by any means. I have a high pain tollerance but this is making me nuts! I'm told and from what I read here I guess the port sight is an isssue for people. :( Having had other laproscopic procedures I didn't expect this level of pain. So ready for it to get better.
