  1. honk, tried that before and it doesn't work.

1shauna1 - Nope, can't say no because there excuse is he isn't going to be there. He's scheduled something else.

I was so frustrated I asked them on the phone why they continue to do this to me every time I have an appointment. Thats when she told me he called in and tells him to reschedule the appointments for that day and that he only does 6 a day which totally iritated me. I told her "I think thats sh*tty and poor customer service".

  2. Is anyone else having the same troubles I am? I go in and get my fill and the doctor tells me to come back in 4 weeks. Then when I go to schedule my next appointment I can't get in for 8 weeks. Then two weeks after making my appointment they call to reschedule me and can't get me until 7 weeks after that appointment. This makes my next appointment 3 months after my last appointment. This is the 3rd time this is happened. I went through the roof and asked why they do this to me every time and they said Dr. Snow only does fills 2 days a week and only does 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. The doctor has surgeries twice a week. How are all of us that have had the surgery supposed to get our fills if he is only doing 6 a day twice a week? I'm so upset right now. I want to lose my weight and I paid him to do it to help me through this journey and that means fills and now I can't seem to get them. I just feel like this is poor customer service. Am I out of line? Is there something I don't know or I'm not thinking of? Please, your thoughts.....

  4. Hi everyone. I had my lapband surgery on July 26th and as of December 14th I was down 83 pounds. My goal for 6 months was to lose 100 pounds. I had to have some surgery on December 28th and have had to be home and off my feet for going on 6 weeks. I have not weighed myself but with Christmas and then my mom cooking here and cooking for a period of time I have a feeling I'm up a bit. My problem is getting back into the swing of things. Making healthy choices and getting back on track. I thought of starting a liquid diet to get things started again. I'm due for a fill on Wednesday. Anyway, I'm looking for a paticular Protein shot "Sunkist Protein". I don't want to buy them online because I want to be able to start on them tomorrow (Monday). Anyone out there know where I can pick a few of these up? Anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about getting back on board?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide

  5. Hi Kristen,

I was able to eat bread until I finally got to restriction. I still can on some breads but don't much cuz it sometimes does get stuck. I have really changed my eating habits because it's something I wanted to do. I wanted to eat less and eat healthier. I don't deprive myself of anything I absolutly want but I have done so good at losing that I make better choices now because I don't want to disappoint myself by not losing any weight. Some of the things I get stuck on are rice, dry meat, bread and hamburger meat. I didn't have a difficult time with these until several fills to reach restriction. Do whats right for you just remember why you did this and don't be mad at the band if you make bad choices. Good luck!

  6. Hi Mimi!

I was banded in July and was on liquids 7 days pre op, 7 days post op. Two weeks after surgery I got mushies and 7 days after that (4th week) I was able to eat soft foods. My doctor took my fills slow and small so I didn't fill restriction until my last fill which was about 3 weeks ago and I think it was like my 5th fill. So the 4 previous fills I had I never felt any difference. Number 5 was the one. At least my doctor would see me every 2 or 3 weeks so I wasn't having to wait a long time in between times. He always tells me, after each fill, to go easy and eat a pudding consistancy for 5 days afterward. If you're feeling hungry you don't have restriction. Thats one of the signs that you are still in the green zone. Hope that helps. Good luck to you!

  7. Okay everyone. Please help me understand why we need so much Water. I understand our bodies are made up of water and we need water to hydrate our bodies. I can drink water but have a difficult time drinking what is 'required' of me. I was told Ice Tea won't count towards waters because its a diaretic. I retain water so why do I want to hold onto water? Please help. Thanks!

  8. I can relate to this topic. Before my surgery when I s on my liquid diet I was using the Protein Drinks and drinking broth and sugar free Jello and crystal light packets in my Water. Immediately after surgery I couldn't stand the smell of the Protein drinks, the sugar free jello and crystal light packs are all way too sweet. I have been really good with not eating sweets/candy but on thanksgiving I did enjoy a big piece of pecan pie. My treat to myself present.gif

  9. Hi Lisa. I wasn't scared either. I felt really good with my surgeon and felt he was going to take care of me and just focused on positive thoughts. I too wondered 'oh my god, what have I done' after day 1, 2 & 3 but everyday things just progressed positively each and every day since. I have alot more weight to lose but with what I have lost (down 3 pants sizes and 1 top size) I feel SOOOOO much better. Everyday is a great day!!

Hang in there and Good luck on your journey.

  10. First I will say this. It is none of his business and he doesn't have a say in what you do to your body. It's YOUR body. However, it's kinda sad that you can't talk to him and even if he doesn't agree to just 'disagree to disagree' and understand it's YOUR decision. With that said, if you are absolutely set on not telling him and you don't want to spend the holiday alone you could fake being sick that day or acting like you are coming down with something and thats why you don't want to eat. Good luck with YOUR decision (lol) and Happy Thanksgiving

  11. Hi John,

I agree with the above poster. Research, research! Your doctor knows your history and struggle with losing/maintaining and he offered you a option. Now it's your turn to read and find out all you can about the lap band and see if it's the right thing for you. I, like many here could lose weight but ended up packing it and more pounds back on. Vicious cycle. I feel like my lap band is my lifesaver. I feel so much better and I know I have my tool to help me go forward for the rest of my life.

Good luck with your decision John. If you have any other questions ask away. Everyone here is open and will give you their honest feelings or opinions. Good luck to you!
