1. Thank you so much for the encouragement, and your right. It is the taste and the flavor that we crave. I learned that the other night when I just sucked on a small peice of Turkey. I was so satisfied afterwards. I was surprised at how good it tasted in the blender with the green beans. It taste the same minus the texture, so Im satisfied. One thing I am paying more attention to is the carb and calorie count. I am also trying to get the labels that say fat free, Same food, good eating, just modified with smaller portions. I pray its always this easy.

I am so happy to hear that you are not afraid to put whatever into your blender!! Go crazy with it! This will help you in so many ways! Remember this is a lifestyle change not a diet! I never totally quit eating anything that I would never eat again. Granted I only added things with major milestones and with portion control. I have learned I CAN eat 1 or 2 chips and be fine! You really only want the taste! As for the blender..you are craving a flavor or a taste..even if you have to close your eyes to eat it it will be so satisfying and you will be full for so long. Also, throughout your journey you will have fills..at least my doctor had a very strict diet after each fill..2 days of liquid, 2 days protein shakes, 2 days of mushies and 2 days soft protein and then regular foods...believe me once again by then you will have been used to eating "regular" foods and you will want to eat. Bring out the blender and blend away (close the eyes) and eat! I wish you continued success!

  2. 7 weeks post op, I did not have saline in my band either. I have heard that some doctors do that, but mine did not. The swelling in your tummy should as others have said cause enough restriction. I followed the diet to a T after the band was placed for a week. I had gas too. or Air Bubbles in my body cavity that occur when you are cut open and the air gets inside and then after sewn up, have no real place to go but to dissolve on its own back into the blood system. This is how i understood it. The only relief I had was Walking and lots of it. The bubble moved to my shoulder blade, and was uncomfortable for awhile. So I know what you are feeling.. and I wish you luck and I am glad you listened to your body. It is worth it.

Thanks Grey Cat. What is 7 weeks post op like?

  3. Thanks Alicia, I felt the same way. It would have saved me some worry. I had no idea what was going on and it was stressing me the hell out! In a way it was a blessing because at least it was something that could be relieved, at least a little. In addition, I now know that I do not want that great big fill because it is not worth it to me at this point. I am sure when the swelling goes down I will have room for a little more, but in its own time.

  4.
I'm glad that everything is ok with you! I have learned in the past 5 months that I really have to listen to my own body. Everyone on here has such different experiences it is hard to compare. I'm glad you listened to your instincts. Good Luck!
5. Hi Alicia, I honestly thought I was alone with this one...it was a sad and lonely thought. Unfortunately, we have to treat this journey like any addiction and the first thing we have to do is admit that there is a problem. I have a problem, I could not do it alone, but I know the band is not going to do with for me, we have to work together. So please Alica, do not pacify me... if you see me posting about eating what you and I know we should not be eating, please call me out on it. I will appreciate it in the long run!
