  1. Kathy, I don't blame you for having the salad, don't let yourself feel sick or get sick. I still don't know what our pre-op is, guess I will find out when everything else gets done. Still trying to lose this 17 lbs I gained sometime after April until 3 weeks ago. Still convinced it is the medicine I started taking in April. My blood sugar 14 day average has dropped from in the 200's to the 100's so not losing a few pounds makes no sense. But that dang needle on the scale won't move. boo hoo

  2. Was a long afternoon. Got there about 12 and home at 4:45. They put in the IV and first dose of meds then had to wait an hour. I was worried about being claustrophobic and remembering that the camera came close to my face, but they have a new camera that just covers your chest up to your chin so that worked for me. It is a new camera and they are just getting used to it, so my pictures were not of good enough quality to use. So I ended up going to the hospital to have the test completed. So now I have to go through the camera worry again. But they have a new one also and it did not cover my face either, a little closer than the other but I did fine. It takes about 15 minutes and I had pictures done twice, I even dozed off a couple of times, lol. The stress part was what I expected, shortness of breath, headache but I never felt any chest tightness or pressure, hope that is a good thing. We did not have time for the doppler because of change of location so I go back Wednesday for that. It turned into a good experience and am glad it is over !! Should have results in a day or two.

How is everyone else doing ?

  3. Grammy, what does the camera look like that takes the pics on the chemical test. I had one a few years ago and I know I don't remember. Is this one that you lie down and the camera comes down close to your face ? I am claustrophobic and even though I can see it still puts me in panic mode. I don't remember lying down the other time. I can't do an MRI at all, even the open, freaks me out.

  4. I have a blood clot in my right thigh. I have to take Warfarin to thin the blood (coumadin). The shots may be Lovenox which I also had to take for awhile, those you inject yourself. My blood clot they think came from a 12 hour ride to Texas. At one point I had a second which was when I was in the hospital for a month. I cannot take anything but warfarin because I have atrial fibrillation, or can do the Lovenox also, but expensive. Bad part about the warfarin I have get blood drawn 3 - 4 times a month to check the thickness. And yes, walking is stressed as soon as possible.

  5. We have formed a nice group here. Three sleevers in October, how wonderful !! We all will be close in dates and that makes for good inspiration and support. I am hoping for Nov or Dec. Queen has been a blessing and inspration with her blog. I hope everyone stays here and shares as we go along. So happy for everyone !!

  6. I have one close friend that is totally against it, but I am not letting it concern me. I have family and 4 other close friends who understand and support it. They are my cheerleaders. The only thing that the doctor and a friend was concerned about when I started this a year ago was not to rush into and be sure that my leukemia was in check. Had a checkup with my oncologist a couple weeks ago and I am still in remission. He thinks that I am good to go, as is my family doctor and cardiologist. I have been through a lot the last 4 5 years and they want me to do what is best.
