  1. I couldn't do the puree. It made me physically sick. So I just ate very soft things and chewed until there was hardly anything left of it and I did well. Keep up the good work!
  2. I haven't had kidney stones but I'm right there with you on the eating. I have to force the protein shakes down just to get in the protein I need. But I don't look forward to eating anymore either. Maybe it's because before surgery I just ate what ever and how ever much I wanted and now we can't do that, we have to be more mindful of what we put in our mouths so that we do get in the things we need. But this is the choice that I made and I am going to do what ever it takes to make it sucessful. I am tired of being over weight and not being able to do what I want not to mention that I have finally found my true love and want to be around a long time to spend with him. So keep your heads up ladies and keep trying. We can do this!!!! No one said it would be easy , just worth it.
  3. You ladies are all doing great. I haven't logged on in a long time. My surgery was 11/15/12 and I am down 41 lbs since 10 days before surgery. Some days are a struggle but mostly good. Still have trouble getting all my liquids in but trying really hard. I force myself to drink a Protein shake every day so I get my protein in. Some foods going down better then others. It's trial and error I guess..lol Hope everyone continues to do well.
  4. I am two weeks out today and on full liquids. Can I make protein shakes with fruits like bananas or peaches mixed in with my protein powder? Didn't know if this would be to high calorie or not.
  5. Good luck to you both...you will do great!
  6. I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and for some reason today things seem to be going down hard. I am on full liquids and am taking small sips and doing it slow. It just seems to take a long time for it to go all the way down. Other then that I feel fine. Is this just a normal thing that happens some times? I appreciate all your thoiughts. Thanks
  7. I was sleeved on Oct. 15th. The pain you are feeling near your incision is the pulling of the stitch on the stomach. This is what my doctor told me and said it was normal. Mine is hurting less every day. I too struggle to get in my liquids and protein but it gets a little easier every day as well. I lost 11 lbs pre op and am down a total of 23 now. It does feel great to be loosing. I will be glad when I can eat soft foods. I'm tired of soups and pudding. Hang in there everyone and keep us all posted on how you are doing.
  8. I know how you are feeling...mine is Monday the 15th. We will do great! Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
  9. I'm a cook at a nursing home. I'm on my second day of the pre op diet. It has been easier then I thought it would be because I am so busy that I don't have time to think about eating. I keep some flavored water with me that I really enjoy and just keep sipping it every chance I get. I'm also diabetic so I have to force myself to stop and have a snack so that my sugar doesn't drop to low. I have three weeks off work because I have to be able to lift 50 lbs before I can return to work. Hang in there, it will be a little easier then you think. We can do this!!!
  10. Congrats. Can't wait to be there with you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
  11. You are beautiful!
  12. Good luck to you. Prayer coming your way. Mine is Oct. 15th. I'm sure we will both do well. Please keep us informed on how you are doing.
  13. Hi, my surgery is Oct. 15 and I start my pre op on the 5th. Good luck to us all...we got this!!!
  14. I start mine on Oct.5th. I am dreading it also, I am a cook at our local nursing home and it is going to be hard! Hang in there, we can all do this!!
  15. I have my surgery on Oct. 15th and Dec. 12th I turn 50. I am hoping I will be able to buy a nice christmas outfit for myself. When I hit 199lbs, the whole world will be able to hear me scream with excitement!!!! Happy Birthday to you!
  16. That's wonderful news. I am type 2 and insulin dependent and it's the main reason for me having the surgery. I'm hoping for the same results! Were you on your meds through you pre op diet as well? Good luck and please keep us posted.
  17. Hi, I have also read about several patients that were that size and had the surgery but like Rootman said that is a question only the surgeon can answer. You and I have almost the same stats. I'm 5', 20 with a bmi of 53. Keep us posted on your surgery.

  23. Thoughts and prayers to you today!
  24. I was told that if you apply to BCBS of Kansas that you will be denied because they don't cover any WLS and that after that, any kind of medical issue that you bill them for, like lab ect. that they will try to relate it to your wls and won't cover it either.
