  12. Just had my treadmill stress test. I think i did pretty good. If everything looks good, dr will write clearance letter. Just one more step to surgery. Only thing is, for my psychologist clearance, i have to pay out of pocket as my insurance (Cigna) doesnt cover it. Crazy but it's ok. Sacrifices are gonna be worth it. 17. Hello Everyone! It has been a long time since i have updated. I had started my journey to weight loss in 2011. I had wanted the Lap Band. I jumped through all the hoops my former insurance wanted me to. Then, when we submitted to them for surgery. They said that the place i was going to was no longer in network. They wanted me to drive 5-6 hours to go to the doctor. So, i gave up. I spiraled out of control with my eating. It is now 2016. I am at my highest weight ever. I am in pain from it and totally fed up! My insurance changed a couple months ago ( Anthem was bought out by Cigna) I thought what the hell, let me look to see if they cover it. AND THEY DID/DO!!! I am beyond excited. Mostly because i am not doing this alone. My adopted Mom had the lap band 6 years ago and it failed her. So we are both having the Sleeve. Hers being a revision. But i am excited and nervous but thats to be expected right? This site helped me so much last time. I recommended this to my friend also. I look forward to taking my journey with all of you and reading everyone's stories. 2017 is definitely going to be my year!!
  18. I got a call today from my case manager at my insurance company (Anthem BC/BS GA). My doctor submitted the paperwork but the hospital is not Blue Credited (or something like that). When i started my journey, i started with a different doctor, different hospital b/c that hospital was not credited so my surgery would be covered. So i went to the one closest to me that was, which was Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. So now they are telling me that that hospital is no longer on their list. So why in the h e double hockey sticks didnt they tell me that they were taking the hospital off the list so i wouldnt have wasted my time going to all the appointments for what i feel is nothing..I'm really hoping they can work it out b/c i still do want surgery but dont want to drive 3-4 hours just to go to the doctor all i do know right now all i want to do is cry b/c i thought i was doing the right thing and getting healthy but i just dont understand why this road block was put in front of me. Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
  19. So as of October 27th i finished the 6 month weight management thing required by my insurance. I started my journey a year ago, and would have had the surgery already but there was a gap where i couldnt make my appointments due to not having a car. I spoke with the surgeons office ( I will be having Dr. Sieloff in Tallahassee, FL) on the 9th and she stated she was working on it and i should hear back from her in a few days. I am nervous but excited at the same time. I would love for my surgery to be done by the end of the year so please keep me in your thoughts..oh i have Anthem BC/BS of Georgia
  20. that is what made my decision as to get the sleeve instead of RNY..i have a friend that had it done and at first she had nothing but problems but now several years later is much better but still..when i realized that the band wasnt for me i knew i didnt want anything bypassed and thats what lead me to the sleeve..i have yet to have it done as i am jumping through the isurance hoops but soon i will be on the losers bench
  21. i originally wanted the band, but when i was told that while it would help it wouldnt help enough. I have a couple friends that had the bypass and i just couldnt see them switching anything around in me..so i chose the sleeve that way there isnt half my stomach floating in my abdomen..im just about over my 6 mon weightloss requirement and soon hope to get a date
  22. I'm jumping through insurance hoops right now..my insurance (BCBS Anthem of GA) requires a 6 month weight loss stuff so in Oct. it will be the end and we submit an go from there!
  23. Earlier today i was standing in my kitchen and a thought..well more like a vision..came to me..i saw myself as a skinny person..i was like whoa! I have been on the fence of the should i or should i not continue with this..(currently have 2 months left out of the 6 month ins. hoop) and i think seeing that vision was my answer that it is what i am meant to do..something for myself. did anyone else experience something like this?
  24. mine didnt happen at a restaurant but at an amusement park..on certain rides they have a *bigger* seat, well i got in it and the shoulder harness didnt go all the way down so, not 1 but 2 employees tried pushing it down..in front of the whole line! i was like forget it just let me out and i got off the ride, walked down through the gate found a bench and bawled my eyes out..i havent been to an amusement park since i cant wait til i lose so i can go back
  25. Ok so i havent written in a bit..and im writing now b/c i just came off of a binge..a bored binge..a comfort binge..a stress binge..one which after i was done all i wanted to do is cry and thats what i did..i wish that voice in my head woulda been loud enough to wake myself up b4 i did it..i do good for a while and then BOOM ! the devil takes over and im back to old habits..my NUT wants me to try to get down to 280..as of the last visit i was 301.5..i usually weigh every day and she advised me not to but i told her it keeps me on track but now im not so sure..so i put it away and will not weigh until i step on the scale at the drs on Aug. 21. I have to get stronger..i know the sleeve isnt a cure all and that i have to work my sleeve but it will be so great not to be able to overeat..i know most of it is in my head (aka head hunger)..I'm just so frustrated and stress in my life doesnt help one bit.. rant over ..till next time
