  1. Does anyone know where I can buy this product in bulk other than the Carnation website? I'm starting my pre-op diet on Monday and our Wal-mart doesn't have an abundance. I've got some to start the diet but was just curious if anyone had run into this problem and if they found another option. Thanks! Renee
  2. Bamalama My surgery was on Monday and I've found that this has been the hardest part, so far. I also take Nexium and Tricor. Nexium doesn't really dissolve but is probably the easiest one I take. Tricor, as you know, is so large. I crush it the best I can and take it with Crystal Light for flavor. I didn't have any of those little medicine cups so I used the small cup that the Crystal Light came in. I hope that eventually I can take my meds by either just cutting them in small pieces or simply being able to stop them all together. Good Luck...it's not fun. Take care. Renee

Suzzie Best of luck tomorrow with your surgery. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part for me has been crushing my meds and trying to get them down. YUCK! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Renee

    June 2007 Bandsters

Hi All, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm officially in Bandland!!! My surgery was Monday morning. It went well other than the fact that I evidently have no veins. They couldn't get an IV in prior to surgery so they put one in my left wrist and one in my left foot after I went out. I have to say that was a first...to have an IV in my foot. I wasn't discharged until last evening around 8:00. It seemed like the nursing staff didn't know what to do with me. My last nurse finally came in and said well you're not going home today. That was when I asked to see a doctor. Next thing I know, the same nurse is coming back in with my discharge papers. UGH! Anyway, it's done now and I feel pretty good. I was a little confused about the diet. First thing this morning I called my dietician and she helped me. For all you June bandsters still waiting, it wasn't too bad. You'll be joining us soon! Take care. Renee

    June 2007 Bandsters

Hi June Bandsters! I just wondered if anyone that's started a pre-op diet is struggling? I'm doing okay...but I can't say I haven't ate anything. I have had a few bites here and there. I just wondered how everyone else is doing. Take Care! Renee

    Choking????

:help: I'm scheduled for surgery in June. I've told a few people including my parents but my dad insists he's heard of people choking to death with the lap band. I've searched this site and the internet and can't find anything about this. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone would start a June 07 thread. My date is June 11. Any other June 11 bandsters? I am so excited about it. I'm ready for the change. Like Musicalmomma, I'm 38 but will be 39 in August. I think her idea of being fit by 40 sounds great! Take care!

    Newbie!!!

Hi all! Yes, I am a Newbie to this site. I had asked my surgery coordinator just this morning if she could get me in touch with someone in my area (West Virginia) who had the lapband done. When I got home this afternoon, I had an email from a very nice lady (lbj5362) who recommended this site. This nice lady included her phone number in her email so I called her and we talked for and hour and a half! A little about me...I attended the seminar in November, had a consultation in December and on Wednesday had an endoscopy done. I've also had and EKG and blood work done. In the next couple weeks, I'm scheduled for a sleep study and psych eval. I'm not sure how fast things may happen but I'm so ready for it, especially after talking to lbj5362. She was such a help!
