  1. I agree with the other posters. Definitely get it checked into.

My mom went that about 18 months after she finished menopause. They checked everything out, did a d & c and she never had a problem after that. Although they did check her every 6 months for about 2 years just to be safe. That was 10+ years ago and she has not had any problems since (she is 67 now)

    My best to you!

  2. Such a great idea!!

I did not get a card like that but I did get a card for emergency unfills (directions on how to do it) and a tip card to avoiding PB'ing. I will suggest this to my clinic though - it is a great idea - especially if you went out for a family dinner to a buffet! Who wants to waste $25 on a buffet when you eat like a 2 year old! - They only pay $4.00!!

  3. Congrats Cat on a successful surgery! I hope you continue to recover well and have as little discomfort as possible!

30Something - Just 1 hour til your surgery! Saying a prayer for you! Good luck and I hope you recovery easily and quickly!!

S-Day is tomorrow for me. 10am. Excited and nervous. Today I am cleaning the house from top to bottom and making sure my kids are both packed for camp next week (They leave Monday and Tuesday). Veggies and chicken or fish on the menu today - nothing after midnight of course. Then after surgery tomorrow it is nothing but Water. Then 5 days of clear liquids before I start Protein drinks and pureed Soups for 1 week. Never thought I'd say this but I think a bowl of cottage cheese is going to look mighty appetizing when I finally get to mushies!! LOL.

  5. Whitetiger - Thank you for the welcome! I am trying to stay positive and not let myself get too nervous as well!

MustangMama - Congratulations on being banded today!! Excited for you! When I read your post I smiled because I will be cleaning my house on Wednesday in anticipation of the surgery on Thursday.

I am a little nervous because my daughter has a dance performance on Saturday (2 days after surgery) and I have to drive her there. I think it will be fine I just hope I don't have too much gas pain or incision pain. Then on Monday I have to drive 8 hours to drop her off at camp and then come home. Ugh. Thankfully my mom will be coming with me and I can take breaks, maybe even a nap on the way home if I need to. I sure hope I am up and around quickly because if not I could be in trouble!

Cross your fingers and say a prayer for me!

  6. May I join you!? LOL.

Congrats to all the new July banders!! I have not read all 46 pages of this thread but I have read many and I see that so many are making great progress and recovering well already! Gives me hope! Thank you.

A prayer for everyone being banded this week!! We can get through these few days of nervousness and jitters and come out the other side just like the other July bandsters!!

My date is Thursday, July 28th. My friend and I are getting banded together. She goes in at 9am and I go in at 10am. So excited and of course very nervous!!

Looking forward to making this journey with all of you!!

  7. Well said! I totally agree with you.

Wish I'd have had more guts to stand up to the doctor that delivered my daughter. She was 8 weeks premature and there was a small chance she might have Downs Syndrome. When I let the dr. know that Downs Syndrome was a possibility he pretty much insinuated I could have had an abortion! WHAT!!!???? This is my child and I love her no matter what.

Thankfully I had great nurses and my daughter was born healthy and went home after just 2 weeks in the special care nursery! And I never had to see that jerk of a dr. again.

  8. I have been reading posts for some time and as I am only days away from my surgery thought I should join the forums and get involved!

My surgery date is July 28th and I am excited but very nervous to be joining you as a fellow bandster!!

Funny that I am not nervous about the surgery or the recovery or the diet. I am nervous about what I will look like when I have lost the weight, whether I will need surgery and how much it will cost. My wonderful hubby has assured me that he can wait a few more years to buy a new car if it means I can have the cosmetic surgery/ies that I want/need. Gotta love him!!

I'm also nervous about forgetting to sip my drinks, take small bites and chew well. And from what I have read eating chicken is becoming a scary idea! LOL.

Anyway, I am honoured to join you and look forward to the journey!
