My surgeon was Dr. James Davidson, surgery was at Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. ( he has the Center of Excellence stamp of approval) As previously stated, Forest Park is a state of the art private hospital for cash pay patients. Dr. Davidson's insurance patients are treated at Presbyterian Hosptial in Dallas, which is an excellent hospital as well. I highly recommend him as well as his entire team, they're a great group!!

Hi all! Week 2 has come and gone, my how time flies. I have lost another 4 pounds this week and did well on full liquids. I've found that I'm getting full with 6-8 ounces of liquid/soup/yogurt.
I bought a VitaMix and have been puree'ing lots of things to get my nutrients and trying to maintain about 1000 calories. I've heard that the trick to avoiding long stalls is to stay hydrated (64 ounces of water) and get 900-1200 calories every day... so far this is working for me although it is sometimes hard to get it all in.
I started taking a chewable multi-Vitamin and walking 30 minutes a day this week - I feel like an old lady when I'm finished but I'm hoping it gets easier. It seems silly to walk 30 minutes just to come home and take a nap :-) but I'll keep at it.
Also this week, I went to my Primary Care Physician to look at my incisions - they were itching and burning like crazy and I was afraid they were getting infected. He gave me 7 days worth of antibiotics and took a blood test. They look much better after 3 days and are not itching as much.
So on to week 3 - finally get to eat semi-normal foods (soft, easy to chew, mashable), had a scrambled egg this morning for breakfast! Yummy.

Hi, Well I had my plication for 7 months then I had to reversed it do to complication
They removed it 7 weeks ago, But till this day I'm still loosing my hair
I have huge bold spots that I can't hide no more only if I wear a hat, I started loosing it about 4 months after I had the plication done
The Dr.told me it would stop. But it did not, and now that I don't have plication any more it still comes out like crazy. I’m taking Biotin, B12 Vitamins, and using Biotin Shampoo and conditioner but nothing seems to help. My Dr. told me to go to a Dermatologist so I can get Hormones shots on my scalp for Hair growth.< /p>
I think it was because of so much stress with plication complications .I will wait a little more on the Dermatologist maybe. Don’t know what to do

I just had the new procedure called "gastric sleeve plication" I am 21 days post op. It was quite difficult to find much information on this since it is so new. I am very pleased with my results, surgeon, and overall experience. I would be happy to share information with anyone considering "plication" My surgeon was Dr. Corvalas in T.J. Mexico. I am down 14 pounds at this point. No problems whatsoever.

We go to Tijuana all the time. If you treat it like you would any big city then you should be fine. Don't bring valuables, don't flaunt around a lot of money and go places where others are at especially at night then you should be fine.
They make the majority of their money on tourists they want you to be safe.
but i need to know a good doctor, one that a lot of pepole have went to ,and how to get ti contact with him i need help thank you nancy

I agree with ChowChows. If your overall health is good and you don't have such extreme comorbidities that would cause you to be at too high of risk for ANY surgery, I think it's definitely not too old! I know of 85 year olds getting hip replacements and coming through them just fine.
but to go to Mexico do you think that is safe for me?nancybr45

i am 65, is that too old for gastric sleeve plication, and i will be self pay, where is the best and safest place to go? I'd like to hear from some one that has gone other places
