  1. And we're off! I backslid some this week too. A little to much in the fun department I think and not as much exercise. So back up two and now down to lower than I've been in years! Good luck to all! Remember you just have to copy the ticker thing and paste it in to a new reply to add your name to join or to change your weekly results. :peace:

  2. LapBandit! Congratulations on your success!! That is so inspiring to me since I started the journey in January. I can't wait for my one year follow up! I hit the 70's this week and Julie I can relate. I don't know the last time I was at this weight and the fact that I'm 3 pounds away from 50. Just a few months ago I couldn't even manage to lose 5 pounds.

Congrats to everyone! On to our next challenge starting on the 17th! :peace:

  3. Congrats Julie on hitting the target! And in Onederland too! Too cool! :whoo: How are you feeling after the surgery?

Welcome Chris. We are starting on the 17th so that will be the official start date for the Independence challenge. You'll come crashing in to Twoterville before you know it!

  4. Hey Molly. Everyone must be on an extended Easter holiday. I'm weighing in on my usual Thursday and then I'll record the starting weight on the 17th. I'd like to drop at least 2 more but I'm quite happy with what I've done since the beginning of the year. Don't worry about falling off any wagon, just as long as you get back on is all that matters.

  5. LapBandit,

I'm rooting for you! You can be our leader in to Onederland. I know last time I set my goal for 2 lbs a week and I think I'll probably do the same thing this time too.

Okay, so if everyone's in agreement, we'll start on 4/17 and end on 7/4. (Or 7/3 since most people will be in party mode on the fourth ...lol)

    :peace:

  6. I think we had decided on the Independence day challenge and July 4th. To free ourselves from the shackles of weight, to move on to a new way of life, to boldly go where no man...er...woman...er...wait, I think I've crossed over to a Star Trek moment. That would make 11 weeks (and a day) until the next end date if we start on the 17th.

    :peace:

  7. No change for me this week. What day are we starting the July 4th challenge?

  8. My Babee is definately due for a bath. Ran through some puddles the last few days and Sunday too. I'm enjoying riding to work again though. Today looked like a little bit of a crap shoot but I went for it anyway. Afternoon was a bit breezy and the temp is dipping. I hope it will be nice for next weekend though. The River City Bikefest is coming up. It's not huge but it has some of the 'names' that come hang out for a couple of days. Only 6 more weeks until the big ride to Amarillo. That should be a blast. It will be my longest trip. :shade:

    :peace:

  9. BLJ how fun! It's always an adventure! We had gorgeous weather here. Went riding in the hill country. The bluebonnets are everywhere! Stopped up in Bandera for lunch and watched all the bikes go by. They had a local rally there this weekend so the town, which is normally busy with bikes on the weekend, was swarming. Great views! Now the rain's supposed to come again....darn spring anyway...lol

    :peace:

  10. We have sunshine!!! Woohoo!!! Took off about midday to go hang out at the HD dealership. They had a band playing so I stayed there a bit and then took the long way home. I really need to find some regular people that ride all the time. I'm kind of hesitant to just take off by myself but tomorrow may be the day. :shade: If it's even half as nice as today I think I'll go find me some hill country to enjoy.

Randy I hope ya'll are being blessed with the same change in the weather. It was pretty nasty around here last night too. Remeber the stuff anywhere close to Sturgis books up really fast. I have my tent reserved and I can still cancel by 6/15 and get 80% back. I'm planning on going though. I think I'll meet some people by then who want to ride up there too. At this point there's a second air mattress with no one's name on it...lol

    :peace:

  11. Libra - Don't give up! Look at your success so far! You've done a terrific job. Plateaus happen and then it all starts moving again. You can do it! And a full year...just look back where you were and now to where you are. Can you believe all the positive changes? I'm sure you'll hit your century mark in no time at all!!

Congrats Molly on your arrival to the 70's again. Shall we put on some Partridge family? Watch some Brady Bunch episodes? oh wait, wrong 70's. I'm so happy for you!! I hope to be there soon myself and I will be groovin' to the 70's with you! :)

LapBandit, I think that's an awfully sweet idea to want to thank your doctor's office. I'm just not sure what you would take them. I think chocolate might be out of the question..lol But maybe a plant if they have some??

    :peace:

  12. Hey Randy. Being in Florida I didn't get to many details about all that was going on back in Texas but I did see it was getting saturated. I hope ya'll didn't have any damage or flooding. I'm glad you're set for ROT. I haven't decided yet. I need to review my finances before I commit. Amarillo in May and Sturgis are the priorities for me. Plus I have my daughter's 21st bday also in August in Vegas. Although I'm sure as it gets closer, I'll 'have' to be there...lol

I bought some luggage for the bike today at HD. It's going to have plenty of room to carry stuff. Plus it will be on my bi**h seat...ahem...passenger seat so I can use it as a backrest too. Has a big bag and also a small weekender for those quick trips.

But I'm so ready for the rain to be gone. Looks like we might get a break starting tomorrow afternoon. (fingers crossed)

    :peace:

  13. Well Florida was gorgeous. Went to the Tampa HD store to get a pin to add to my collection. I wanted to take off on one of the bikes too...lol It was 80 and sunny every day. And then back to the Alamo City and nothing by rain. (sniff...sniff...) There's a slight chance for sun on Sunday and then I'll be off. I swear I'm going through withdrawals..lol

    I hope everyone's doing well!

    :peace:

  14. Thanks LapBandit! I was surprised to see it myself....lol

Molly I know exactly what you mean about dropping in to a new '10'. It's cool to see it but you just don't believe it quite yet. So our new challenge can be the 'Independance Day' challenge. Independance from our old bodies and ways and on to our new ones. I was surprised when I entered my goal weight and put the date of 7/4/08 as the end date on fitday.com. I have to lose less than two pounds a week to get there. :omg: That really helped to paint a realistic picture for me and how to attain my goal. Now, mind you, it will not hurt my feelings if I get there before but at least I know if I stay on track I'll really have an Independance day victory next year! :clap2:

So I guess we'll kick off the next challenge and on to continued success for all! :peace:

  15. Thanks everyone! I hope we're having another one right after 4/15. It helps to keep me motivated! :welldoneclap:

Lizrbit, if you go under your User CP when you are logged in it will show all your threads. Select the box next to the one you want to change then go to the bottom where the dropdown list is and it will have an edit option to change your notifications. Try selecting the option you want, even if it's the same, and finish to see if it makes the adjustment you want. I only have one that I get notifications on. My usual habit is to log on and then go immediately to my User CP. If there have been any updates they only show those in the listed subscriptions. That way I know when there's new stuff to go see without receiving an excessive amount of emails. I hope that can help!

I hope everyone has a successful weekend! :peace:

  16. Woohoo! :clap2: I'm there! Now all I have to do is get the taxes finished this weekend so I'll have the refund...lol I was worried with the traveling this week for business but I guess all that walking around helped. Definately going to keep that up. Now I'm hoping I can make my 50 pound mark by 4/15 with 5 pounds to go! If I do the first reward will be the IPOD so I have music to listen to when I'm riding my Harley. :shade:

    :peace:

  17. Brandy, I can't think of a better reason to lose a tattoo! woohoo!

Cavediver, thanks for the suggestion. I had wondered if those would be beneficial for a long ride.

I'm off to Florida tomorrow for a business conference. First trip with band in place but I'm sure it'll all be fine. Everyone have a great week and I'll see you next Thursday! :shade:

If only this had been a trip to Daytona. (sigh) Ah well, maybe next year.

    :peace:

  18. See...that's what you get for bragging...lol

Glad you made it home safely. I know I'm looking forward to the sun coming out although I'll be out of town for a few days starting Sunday. But next weekend there's a local small rally up in the hill country so all I'm requesting is sunshine for that day!

Blj...you go girl! I have three tattoos and the first one was a heart with wings. Harley wings of course. I set my heart free to do what I want and almost ten years later (good god where did the time go?) I really am. With the Harley last year and the band this year I'm ready to live free for the next half of my life. :shade: One of my biggest dreams is to experience Sturgis and it's on the calendar for this year. Already have the campsite reserved. Just need to find people to go with since my buddy has potentially wimped out. Planning on joining the new HOG group at the dealership that opened near my house. Hopefully I'll find some riders with cajones. lol

  19. Neveragain...have a great riding day! I'm jealous as the rain is still falling today.

BLJ..congrats on the new Harley! I am sure ya'll will have fun! I didn't even know how to ride until last year. I was always on the back before and I didn't get to do that as often as I thought I should...lol It just dawned on me. It's three days until I've had my Babee for an entire year! If you haven't been in charge before I highly recommend taking a motorcycle safety course. That's where I learned and it was great going from day one of "you want me to do what with this?" to "woohoo..look at me riding over a board" on day two. Enjoy the bike and be safe! Make sure those helmets are on your heads!! :shade:

  20. And finally there is movement. :whoo: Now on to the next challenge of my first triip since being banded. Going to a conference in Tampa so hopefully I won't have any problems finding things I can eat to stay on track. I also started walking on the treadmill this week. I always feel better when I do it, sometimes it's just getting on it that takes so much energy...lol I hope everyone has a great week! :peace:

  21. Come on people, what do you say we put her over the top? I haven't been on the LBT site for long but I've been watching her slowly creep up closer and closer. She always has a kind word for us newbies and is quick to offer support. Just seems like since she's that dedicated to helping us all out we ought to make her #1. :first:

Good deeds deserve recognition! And I can't help but favor her since she has the name of my favorite toy/hobby in her screen name! So please, if you've received a comment from her personally or just appreciate the fact she takes the time to encourage others, add a comment here to thank her. If for every thank you she receives she 'posts', then you'll be a part of making her the top poster! :clap2:

Iluvharleys.....You rock! Thanks for all the good thoughts and we'll see you on top! :peace:

  22. Neveragain,

Welcome! :shade: This is definately a 'brand free' support zone! It's all about the riding and the experiences not the make and model! The more the merrier. Just think of the motley crew we'd all make cruising down the highway. We hope to see more of you!

I've been quite blue due to the rains we've been having. Not only can I not ride but I have discovered a leak in my roof. Good news though..only a hundred bucks to get it fixed. It's fabulous to know people who know people! Since we're in drought country though rain is always a good thing.

Hope everyone is doing well and riding hard! Or at least thinking about riding hard! :peace:
