  1. Hey Raine,

I know its tough but will be so much better for you in the end....I smoked for 25 years from the time I was 15 to 40, just quit a couple of years ago........I did research on a hypnotherapist who guaranteed you to quit in one time.........I figured that I was worth it and would spend the money, I had tried pills,Patches, fake ones, duct tape ...it didnt matter nothing worked. I had 4 cartons at home when her appointment came. She told me to bring my cigarette pack in with me so I figured in lame fashion she would have me break them in front of her so I brought another pack in my car just in case it didnt work  .. I chained smoked all the way down there lol.........After our session I drove home in traffic and didnt want one, ate dinner and didnt crave one, woke up the next morning and I usually would cough , light a cigarette and grab a coffee.........I woke up didnt want a cigarette or coffee......... I have had stressfull issues in my life with my 19 year old she devil and my mother at that period too and not once in the last 3 years have I craved a cigarette...In my work all my patients but a handfull smoke or are forced to quit and I have never went back. Its like she removed that portion of my life and I didnt have to go through painfull withdraws..........Just thought I would share my experience with you and whatever choice you make wanted you to know that when you are truly ready to quit , you will ;)

I definately will keep you all posted.

Thanks, M2G! I have tried numerous times in the past, and am good for a bit then fall off the wagon. But like I said, as long as I keep trying, one of these days, something is going to click. I'm thinking this is the ticket though. :)

Ivy, unfortunately, I know me well enough to know that I won't keep up with that and it won't affect me into quitting LOL. Thanks for the encouragement and congratulations on NOT SMOKING!

SouthernSleever if there is a 7/11 by you they have the starter kits for 15 bucks if not check out xhale 02 online they are 20.00. Much cheaper than most of the e-cigs you see online. I'm cheap, I won't pay 100-200 bucks for an e-cig LOL. My sister bought me the kit in Colorado and mailed it to me. She hasn't smoked in a year and a half. She still uses her e-cig at times of stress but with zero nicotine. She gets the comfort of the action but not the risks of the smoke and nicotine. Atleast thats what she told me LOL. So I'm going to see how it goes.

Thanks Lisa! Gotta keep on trying!

  2. Yes it is a great mushy food........I made mine at home during this stage and ate it all day long......I just took Water and chicken broth and brought to a boil , beat an egg and very very slowly drizzled into broth and it was delicious and egg is great Protein :) ........Homemade refried Beans are great tasting and good Protein with some melted cheese as well or Mashed potatoes at KFC but not as healthy as the other choices......Good luck on your journey :)

    Hey Guys

Is won ton Soup considered a mushy stage food? I am a huge texture nut and the thought of eating pureed meat and the like kinda grosses me out. i was trying to think of some foods that I like that are naturally mushy and won ton soup came to mind. I checked it on fit day, the calories aren't bad and it has more of the good fat than the bad, though its kinda high in carbs. Question is, will it go down smoothly if well chewed in the mushy phase? Any other ideas that don't involve blending a steak would be appreciated too :D

  3. I think depending on where you have your surgery they are scheduling any where from 2-3 months to 6 months out.....Once your classes are done then you have to get all your testing done depending on your health and what the surgeon requires. Its rush rush , wait wait then OMG I have a date........Good luck to you all and just take it all in one day at a time

  4. You look absolutely amazing and thank you for your words, yesterday I started feeling like Im losing so slow now and have been the same weight for a month and am only 3 1/2 months out, I started to feel like what if this is it and will always be above 200 ... You brought me back down to earth and realized eventually it will happen to me and for all of us..........thank you

  5. Yes they can test for nicotine in your system.......They dont want to risk losing there license if a patient is non compliant and not really mentally ready to do what it takes for this surgery :( Are you taking any aids to help you stop smoking? They have pills, Patches, hypnosis etc..........Good luck on your journey.

Doc pushed my surgery back a week because I was honest and told him I was still smoking. Im trying to quit and really want too, but why did he push my surgery back? He said he is gonna do a blood test to see if I was still smoking the day before surg and if I was he was going to cancel me.

  6. HI there..........I am 3 months out and have been hungry all day every day. Saw the surgeon and he said its normal and I told him I need to eat like 6 or 7 times a day ( I can only eat a tiny amount but still ) I am starving every 2 to 3 hrs like clockwork. He said since I am hungry like that just to make sure that carbs are limited or none and keep to the Protein foods and it will go the same as others who are hungry only a few times a day........All our bodies are different and metabolism works differently but in the end we have the same small bananna inside.......Good luck on your journey and hope this helps some.

hi guys, I am 6 weeks out and all of a sudden this week I am hungry! I want to eat, alot! I was hardly eating last week and this week I want to eat many times a day! I feel like I am going to mess everything up. Has anyone else gotten hungry like this so soon?

  7. Welcome and there is so much valuable information here, glad you found us and good luck on your weight loss journey

Hi everyone, I am please to have found a U.K support site.

I was Sleeved on the 18th Aug 2011 and I think I am doing everything wrong after reading your stories.... I raidly got bored with blitzed food and have tried to add variety with my food. I am very social so eating out was a challenge on pureed food stuffs so I managed a childs portion of fish chips and peas the other day. admittedly i didn't eat the batter and sucked three chips and a fork full of peas but it was good!!!

The only down side I have found is I am back to work ( after 10 days sort of rest) and I find my right side seems to pull by the end of the day!!! I am very tired too...

My start weight was 12st 12lb, and I have health issues with high blood pressure kidney disease, gout.... I am now off most of my medication, I took 13 pills a day to start with and now I take 3.

My gout has dissapeared and I have got down to 11st 4lb and it is my 6 week reveiw with the surgeon tomorrow...

I had to pay privately and went to the Spire Hospital southampton and had a Mr Van Den Bossche.

I look forward to any tips the U.k branch can pass on!

    happy weight loss.

    Lady Ann

  8. I am one of those people who cant handle any medication, and the I dry heaved for 2 days all day from the medicine and staples and tummy were and is just fine, but like the last post said just notify your surgeon that you have a sensitive tummy and maybe thats the part they will be removing

I will be having the sleeve done in about a month or so. My worry is that I always throw up coming out of surgery due to the anesthesia. And since I will have a freshly cut on stomach with staples just added, how will throwing up right after surgery affect this? Has anyone had this problem coming out of surgery? If I get violently sick, I'm thinking that my stomach contracting a lot during this may damage the staples and cause them to come loose or leak or something. I see the surgeon in about a week, and I'm sure he can let me know his plan about this, but just curious as to if anyone else has had this experience and what can be done to assure noting gets messed up in the stomach from throwing up. Thanks!

  9. No they dont slow down weight loss( have worked for hospital for 16 years) and 99% of us have stalls and have only lost a few pounds in a month doing the right thing. Its just part of this process and our body trying to adjust to a lower calorie intake and still recovering from surgery......Keep taking your BP meds because if you dont that can lead to stroke .......it will all come off in due time if you just follow the right eating habits and exercise program , be patient and good luck on your WL journey

hello! i take metoporol (sp?) for Migraine prevention- i do not, and never have had high blood pressure. my exercise gal said that beta blockers keep your resting heartbeat lower and it's harder to bring your heart rate up with exercise. i'm frustrated- i'm exercising and doing all the right things but lost only 5 lbs. my second month! so do blood pressure meds slow weight loss? help!:(

  10. Dont cancel it, It will be the best thing you will ever do for yourself.....You dont need anyone upon returning home and you will be amazed at how soon you start to feel great.....New life = New lady......Good luck on your new journey , you will be fine......and P.S when you look and feel hot , dont take her back

But I'm a man I can't even ask for directions...LOL Thank you alll of you for your words of encouragement. I commend you all for your person triumphs and hope and pray that I will be writing my success story within the next few months.

  11. Just saw my surgeon for my 3 month check up and said the same thing "You may NEVER have soda " Will increase hunger and stretch sleeve.......words were good enoug for me . Good luck on your journey

Does anyone drink Diet Coke after surgery? Diet Coke has always been my go-to drink. When I was dieting before, knowing I could have a Diet Coke was a real treat for me. I know I just need to get out of that mindset and am working on it. I can't seem to find another drink that I like as much. I enjoy Water but need something else. The sports drinks and flavored waters just don't do it.

I'm only one week post-op and am completely fine with not having it for a given period (3-6 months?), but the idea of never having another one is daunting. Thoughts?

  12. If he likes thick women, then I would definetely tell him asap. Because if that is one of his criteria you are not going to be that woman ever again after November :) And it might be better to find a man that will be willing to do the journey with you as you slim on down

He is tall and slim, 6’3 about 240lbs, and yes loves a thick women. So I don’t know if this news is going to change the course of the relationship.

  13. oK The weights in privates is Genius ..........lmao , love it

I have heard of folks using ankle weights and sand bags in their privates( ie bra, underwear, ect) but how fast and how soon????? I was lucky, very lucky to not have to do a pre op. I just jumped through the testing hoops, which took 3 months alone! So push, push, push, push that insurance coordinator! I do not support fraud, but I support going around insurance to get healthy! How ironic!
