  1. Hi I am Vickie Pietz@

I was banded on July 20th... and am loving it. I take vitamist spray vitamins!! NO pills... they are absorbed 90% into the body within 30 seconds.. the company has data to back this up.. 4 sprays in the morning... 4 beford dinner... I also have celiac disease and they are gluten free.. get back in touch if you want to know more..

I know there is another topic about Vitamins but its oldand I need some help. I feel a bit in the dark and need some POST OP help. I amabout three days away from my surgery and the Vitamin thing is driving me nuts.I met with the Nutritionist my Dr recommended and wasn't that impressed. I thenmet with some guy who wanted me to but his AMWAY Vitamins. Not happening. So myquestion is to you: What do I need to take every day, where should I go to look?I have a Trader Joe, Target and most other major stores near me. Also, I amtold no vitamins until the 3rd week? I read that everyone is taking something differentand I need some basic help so I can ease my mind before surgery. I will alsoask my Dr. as I have an appointment the day before my surgery. Any help wouldbe awesome.

  2. Hi I was banded on July 20th! Going for my first fill on wed .... Have lost a total of 38 lbs since I started on the liquid diet July 6th.... I go to the gym regularly... but still get hungry....I also have celiac disease which limits my food choices big time!

    Vickie

I just seen this board for July 2011 bandsters.

I sort of feel out of the loop since I was banded on 7/27. Most July bandsters were already banded by that time and then August came and there was a new thread.

    Anyways:

Nothing specific to say other then wondering how everyone else banded around this time is doing.

Me, I have only lost 4 lbs since surgery. I realize my body is still in recovery mode & most ppl gain in the first 6 weeks so I am very happy with losing the 4 lbs.

I have been to the gym 3 or 4 times since surgery so that is an area I need to really improve upon. My goal this week is to go at least 5 times to the gym.

I still have bloating issues & some constipation... I use Gas X and yesterday I drank magnesium citrate (saline laxative) and it worked GREAT. I know once I get more regular with the gym that the bloating will improve greatly.

I am usually not hungry until around noon. My husband has a hard time understanding this and usually gets offended when I don't have at least a protien shake.

I have had one fill so far and am scheduled for my 2nd one next Thursday.

all in all I am doing well & am excited for the future. Sometimes it seems so overwhelming but I can only do it one step at a time one day at a time. Until then I focus on the positives block out the negatives that cannot be changed (such as hurtful words from friends/family/strangers).

Would love to hear from other bandsters close to the same stage with their bands as I am. :D

  3. I was banded July 20th... started back to the gym this week... :-) if you need to crunch get a sugar free popsicle.. the Protein shakes kept me from being hungry... get out of the house!!!!!! DO something.. after the first couple days you will be fine... I feel great and am looking forward to my first fill on Aug 31!!! We were able to crunch on carrots and celery... good luck.. remember.. the best is yet to come!!!!!

I started my preop liquid diet today...and now I'm nervous!! All of a sudden, I'm wondering if I can do this! All I can think of is NOT eating... I need some words of encouragement!

  4. Does anyone have Peripheral Neuropathy and exercise? Been trying to figure out the best exercises with this. I have extreme back and leg pain after exercising and was curious if anyone had found a good exercise routine for this? My doctors tell me to keep trying and to do yoga but so far we haven't figured out a good thing to do. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Missy

I have neuropathy but only in my feet.. feels like they are on fire!!!! have you tried a gluten free diet? I work out 5 days a week... 3 days a week with a senior group.. 2 days with a personal trainer... since the gluten free diet i am starting to get some feeling back in my feet!!!!! hope this helps a bit...

  8. Hey all! Yes, I know-I'm not getting enough protein-or something., But it's so hard to drink the 64 grams of Protein required-MAN! i can't wait for my "mushie" phase to begin! I haven't asked my wonderful surgeon this, but I wonder if he left me unfilled? Probably. I didn't think he would have added anything anyway- It's time to HEAL. Anyone else dealing with definite hunger pangs? I'd better go now. I've got some low-fat creamed Soups to strain!! I WILL get through this!:)

I was banded also on Wed... have not felt hungar pains yet.. thank the goddess lol
