Awww, thanks. But the last week or so all I've been eating is slimfast low-carb shakes and chopped fresh veggies and salads. So I'm sure to gain a little once I bump from my now nearly 800-900 calories a day back to my approx 1500-1700 a day. I had to make 335 by today, in order to get approved, so I had to do something drastic.

I bought the body bugg last year. I have decided to get it going tomorrow. I just have to get my membership up and running. It is a great program which takes out all the guesswork.

Thanks to rereading some of Puddin's posts, I decided to get finally get a BodyBugg. After not losing an ounce for over a month, I've lost 2 pounds in the five days that I've had it.
If you're competitive (even with yourself) this gadget is great! I've had the device for five days. Since getting it, I've been in the gym every morning and have logged every morsel of food before eating it. It is incredibly motivating and fun to try to hit your "deficit" number for the day.

I know exactly how you're feeling!!!! They sent my file in on the 13th and on the 23rd it was approved!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!! I don't get my date until the scheduling nurse calls me and they said that can take up to a week because there are 10 patients ahead of me. But Dang! It's a GREAT feeling!!!! Keep us posted!!!!!

As long as they are responsible for them - feed them, clothing them, providing medical care, etc - I don't see how it is anyone else's business. It is no less eco-friendly than driving huge SUVs and putting your sprinkler system on "auto", so that it comes on even when it's raining outside. Remember that in the days when it was common to have 10 children, there was about 1000 times less pollution. That's because there was no plastic to sit in landfills for 500 years before it decomposed, no Pampers, no Zip Lock bags - no disposable anything. It isn't the number of people on the planet who are destroying it, it's our lifestyle.

I have started doing an exercise which appears to be helping the ol' bat wings. How can I describe it?? I found an animation on the web...hopefully it works...if not, let me know. But here's the description:
Overhead Triceps Extension on a Ball
Grasp the ends of a dumbbell with both hands and sit on an inflated exercise ball (the edge of a chair will work if no ball is available). Keep your abs tight so you don't arch your back. Lift the weight over your head, positioning your elbows near your ears.

I have the same problem, I call mine my pterodactyl wings. I hate them. I have tried alot of things, and I think the one where you hold the weight behind your head and come down and back up work some.

Those bands can be great and will work just fine if you're consistent. Also think about using body weight exercises like tricep dips and push ups as well.
With those bands, you can loop them round things and work your upper back as well or your chest just buy turning around. I sometimes use them outside, loop them round the pergola post and I also loop one over the pergola's overhead beam and pull down for triceps. There's loads of ways to use them and I actually prefer them to free weights you have a kind of stabilising you have to do through all planes of movement, which can give you faster results.
I've even found that just running regularly has toned my arms quite considerably from the arm motion.

Hi, I am new to this board and have been looking over a LOT of messages and yours really made me think of my "extra" person....I am just at the stage of going to the info meeting and then forward, but I wanted to explain a little of why I have waited for so many years to do anything about my weight.....about giving up an entire person that I have been carrying with me, for years. I have finally decided it is time for this other person to leave and take on the form of a memory. I have lugged the extra 150 pounds for way way to long and as I say, "the other person" over the years, has been a great escape for me, I would let the 300 plus pound person come out to defend me or comfort me and the 150 pound person trying to get out would just stay tucked away inside. Well, I quit carrying my kids at about the point they were able to walk.....about 30 lbs or so and today can not even pick up anything over 8 pounds because of my back......so saying goodbye to a 150 is going to be my peace. And saying hello to the new 150 will be life changing. I truly wish you all the best and hope you know that even though I am new to this forum, I am not new to the emotion envolved. Prayers and thoughts are with you and all of the absolute best is wished for your future with this wonderful achievement and choice you have made!!!!

Well i made it almost two years without ever eating the junk some folks talk about going down easy - maybe have had a few Cookies, a few small bags of chips but have really followed those old bandster rules pretty much to the letter -
yesterday had a meltdown/depression (too long to go into here) coupled with horrible pms (i started the day with a blob of ketchup with salt in it - soooo sad) and just a feeling of giving up - why the hell am i doing everything right and basically the only banded person in the world still fat and not losing -suffice it to say at an all time low
well i learned how to binge with the band and i wont share cuz i'm sure you can imagine - had more then my fill all day of sweets and salt and fell right back into my old pattern of eating to soothe myself.
i hope i can stop - i feel like i crossed some line of just giving up. i have been there before but always pull myself back up out of this band despair but it was always without that reminder of how much food helps me.
it also felt good to eat and eat - you see what i mean??? i feel broken and unfixable right now.

OK so we can vote on each other posts and that affects the number we see. What do the numbers mean exactly? How do we know if someone made a comment when voting on one of our posts, how do we find it? How many votes to a point? Did we all start out at one automatically? I would love some answers when someone gets the chance, Thanks
