  2. Dooter I was thinking of you today knowing your date is approaching. Today was my 6th day out. I promise it will be worth it. I have had NO pain. I've been sore but NO pain. The worst was my throat after surgery and until I could sip the next day and also having aunt flo make an appearance. I am on full liquids. I look at 1/4 cup of whatever and am like OMgoodness how am I gonna get that down. (I don't, but I try). I keep a Water bottle at my side and try to eat. I have been using www.myfitnesspal.com to track my Protein, etc. It makes it easier to see it in writing. I'm kinda like you in that this forum has been on the negative side lately. I have been reading less because I want to stay focused and positive. I feel like this was the best decision I could have made for me AND my family. We have tackled this as a team and they have been the best. Hang in there it all gets better!!

  4. Update - It's now 3rd day post-op. I feel like I can actually swallow something! Hooray for little miracles. I slept in the chair last night - much better. The first night home I wanted nothing more than my own bed which wasn't the best idea. I wish I had done the recliner. I am actually feeling better every hour. Only complaint today is that I am super tired. My goal today is to sip sip sip and sip some more. I've got to get more fluids down. With the internal swelling I had, it was so uncomfortable. No pain, but just uncomfortable. I feel like I'm on the backside of this mountain. Still work to do, but the hardest part is over. Good luck to everyone getting sleeved this week. PS: shout out to my husband. He slept on a crummy couch at the hospital and then slept on the floor in our room the first night because he was afraid of hitting my stomach. He makes sure I have everything I need. Sure do love that man!
  5. Got home from the hospital yesterday. I really haven't had any pain, just sore. I had an unexpected hiatal hernia repair, so that has made sipping even more difficult. I can say that each hour I feel a bit better and can't wait to feel good.

  11. Well it is just after 7. My hubby and I are packing the last minute items and will leave out in a couple of hours. My grandmother is coming to stay with the girls and my mom will meet us at the hospital tomorrow. All my pre-op and surgery consents are today with surgery tomorrow. I am so excited that this is all finally happening. I have 2 weeks off work. I feel like I'm getting ready to go to prom! I'll talk to you guys in a few.
  12. My surgeon said they have some patients return to work in one week if they are desk jobs. Maybe that will be the case for you. Good luck with school!
  13. Hey "groupies" - make sure you are doing before pictures. I think we will really like it in the end. I have several close friends who didn't and say that is a regret they have. Can't wait. No nerves. Ready for a change. I have a super support system. Just hoping for a quick recovery and back to work.

  15. I'll partner with you. My sx is on Feb 1st. My surgeon's goal is 150 to lose. My goal is 165. I agree with Dooter about some of the "lightweights". I'm 5'9" and no comorbidities. Each day closer I get more excited about being active and doing things with my family again. I can't wait to enjoy shopping again.
  16. I am scheduled for Feb 1. Excited doesn't even begin to describe it. I can't wait to get off the fat train and start a new journey.

  18. The Visalus shakes are AMAZING! I started them before I knew I was going to be able to have surgery. They have different flavor packets or you can go plain. Plain tastes like cake batter. They are great and not soooo expensive.
  19. Mine is Feb 1. Not far behind you. Soooo excited! Congrats.
