  1. Thank you all for the kind words, I really do appreciate the encouragement!
  2. Well today marks my 6 month since my surgery on 12/21/11, I am down 40 pounds. I am not certain as to how I feel about that number . Now I know that I am loosing (“at a snail’s pass!”) and I will welcome any loss what so ever, but I will say that I imagined the loss to be greater at my 6 month mark! Good news , as I have to keep telling myself, is that I am not saggy, my skin is good, in addition, and I do exercise and work out with weights. I am very curious to see how my next 6 months will go?
  3. Oh and my bmi was 40.8 now it is 35.6
  4. @carbgrl, my surgeon was Dr.Kuhn in Dallas, TX, he is awesome!
  5. I know that everyone is correct about losing slow will minimize the loose skin issue and I can truly say that I do not have any loose skin, yeah!! I just wish that I could see the numbers change on the scale too, thanks all for the encouraging words, best to all of you!
  6. Thanks y'all, everyone one you have wonderful positive comments! I will just try to be patient, which by the way is not one of my best qualities!
  7. I am blessed to say that I had no pre op nor post op, co morbidities!
  8. My starting wright was 245 with bmi of 41 day of surgery, 243. I had 1 week of pre op dieting, my 2 week check I lost 13 pounds, the scale has slowly trickled from that point on! I exercise 3 to 4 times a week and yes I've used my fitness pal. My doc states that I just have a slow metabolism, not what I want to hear, but it is what it is!! If I average the loss it comes out to 1.87 pounds a week, but I do not loose on a weekly basis!
  9. Well...today makes 4 months for me and I'm down 30 pounds. Needless to say I am not happy about the SLOW weight loss! I could just scream as I never dreamed that my journey would turn out like this, I'm sad!
  10. Dang...I am such a slow loser, my surgery date was 12/21/11, I'm down 30. I exercise weekly/daily, I do not get it, it makes me so mad! Congratulations to all you, y'all are doing great!
  11. Thank you Cludgie. @frumpy69, my surgery date was 12-21-11
  12. Coops, thank you for your kind words and understanding! I have 10 + friends who have had some king of WLS and have all lost a great deal of weight. I try not to compare myself to them, most of them do not work out either, I just wish that I could have my "numbers" change in the manner in which they have.
  13. Thank you so much for the encouragement, I truly love your post!
  14. I am just done with the "flip-n" scale! I am 3 months today post op, I have not lost any weight since week 9! In all reality the scale has only moved 3 times since my surgery date, I have never lost on a weekly basis, I'm down 25 pounds, I'm pretty much feeling as though this is it for my weight loss!
  15. Well....today marks 2 month post op, I have not lost any weight since my 6 week visit, Wednesday, is my "weigh in day" but I could not bring myself to do it, in fear of being discouraged! What amount of weight have you all lost at the "2 month post op" mark?
  16. I'm 6 weeks today, just curious how everyone else was doing at this time frame? I've lost 22 pounds since surgery date, 12-21-11, my recovery couldn't have been better I would have to say.
  17. Hi everyone, well today I had my 6 week check up, everything is great. Im down 22 pounds since surgery which was on 12-21-11. I'm excited to be able to eat fresh fruits and veggies! I hope everyone is doing great, take care.
  18. My Insurance required 6 months (consecutive) of dietician monitoring so for me, first visit with the doctor was on 06/29/11 and my surgery was on 12/21/11.
  19. I had one as well, I did not know this unil I woke up from surgery and they Doc told me. But all is good, I have my repair and vsg on 12/21/11.
  20. Hi, I also had the repair as well as VSG on 12/21/11, at first it seemed as though I had "2 restrictions" when I swallowed. The first one was up high, chest area and the second was lower, in the stomach area. But all is good, didn't really have pain though, I hope that you have a speedy recovery!
  21. @Dooter, who is your surgeon?
