  1. So yesterday, I had to go into work earley. It was too close to breakfast, and I was not hungery, But I was not going to be able to have lunch. So I had a hand full of almonds to hold me till dinner. Those almonds turned into an "elephant sitting on my chest plate". I sipped water till they desolved and went down. I thought I chewed them up good and I only ate one at a time, but they got stuck anyway. I dont think I will be having almonds again soon.

  5. I agree too. I gained a few pounds. But after my first fil, it started to regulate and drop slow and steady. Hangin there and PUT AWAY THE SCALE FOR A WHILE. No need to play that mental game while your body is still healing. Good luck.

  10. So I had my surgery on 8-4 and my first fill on 9-5. I am exercising almost every day from 30 min to 1 hr. I have a shake for Breakfast, a very small lunch and about 1 1/12 cup for dinner. I feel like I could use another fill to help curve hunger in between meals. I have always been a snacker. So that has been my hardest part. I am finally in onederland at 198 (-17 lbs). I know it will come off slow and that is fine with me. In general, I feel good. So here is my question. Is there anything else I could be doing to speed up the process of becomming healthier?

  13. So I had my first fill Tuesday morning and ever since I have been starving. I have 2.8cc in my band. I am on liquids for 5 days. It has not been easy. I have however lost 3 more lbs. Here is my question. Will I be this hungry each time they do a fill. Im sure at some point I will hit the Green Zone and I know that no one knows when that will be. I guess I expected to not be hungry because I have more restriction and it was just the opposite. Any sugestions????
  14. Your right. It wont. As long as you are on track for the big picture, the small goals will happen when they happen. Concentrate on how much better you are feeling and that will help keep yo on track to hit your overall goal.

    I can say that I had no problems with it. I did stay full longer. I ate at 1ish and did not get hungery till about 6. Much better. I was getting hungery every 2 hrs or so on liquids. I will keep to liquids as much as I can. I only have tomorrow to go.

    K. So I cheated for lunch and had 3/4 cup cottage cheese and a Fiber One Key lime 50 cal yougrt (which are amazing ). I have to work tonight and I can not be hungery. Think it will hurt me that I moved to a mushie at day 3 instead of waiting the 5 days?

    So I agree with everyone else. My Dr told me that snacking is fine as long as it was the right kind of snacking. It takes the edge off. He also said that protein bars and shakes are a good snack that will fill you up as long as they dont have a lot af cal's. Good luck.
  19. I was banded only a few days before you, 8-4-11. I lost 5 lbs on my pre surg diet and only 7 lbs the 4 weeks after that. I exercize EVERY day. I too was frustrated. I was told that it is normal. I think the real problem is in our heads. It took me years to get consistantly fat and I want it all to come off RIGHT NOW. But reality is that it wont. Once I wrapped my mind around that I was fine. I have stopped weighing my self and I am focusing more on how I feel. Which I have to say is WAY BETTER than I used to feel. I have 1 yr to loose all my weight and at the rate I am going I will hit my goal weight in 10 mts. I have always been a " I want what I want, and I want it right now" person. The band is teaching me different. Good luck with your journey!!!

  23. Since I had my surgery I have not had heartburn once. I had a hurnia that my dr fixed when he was in there. I will tell yall, the weight loss is a bonus for me at this point. I DONT HAVE HEARTBURN ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its amazing.

    If I could add up all the $ I have saved already on fast food, tums, diet cokes, etc. i'm sure that over 5 yrs it would pay for the surgery.
  25. So I am little frustrated. I was banded on 8-4-11. I get up every morning and exercize and I dont eat that much , 1 - 1 1/2 cups a meal. I always have a shake for breakfast and I eat plenty of protene. I drink 4-5 bottles of water a day. Directly after I was banded I was loosing about 1/2 lb a day and it was comming off pretty good. This past week I have not lost a thing. As a matter of fact I have gained 1 lb. I dont understand. I dont get my first fill till Sept 6. I just started solid foods this week. I have had no issues, but I am wondering if this has caused me to stop loosing. Help. What do yall think?
