  1. Hey me too! So glad to be home! Trying to get all my meds, vitamins and things in order here to nurse myself here
  2. I got through surgery and I phrase it this way because of my experience some setbacks but I'm happy!I will post soon!
  3. I have surgery today! I'm in NY, I have to be at the hospital in 5 hours. Wow, I can't believe the day finally arrived! I freaked out a little yesterday, I've been more excited.than nervous all along. Yesterday while looking for a bag to pack my things in, I just lost my cool. I'm okay now I called my besr friend who I grew up With and proceeded to finish packing. I'm a single mom to a 13 year old daughter and well, of course the fear of something going wrong always creeps up. I have faith everything will be just fine and this will begin my new life which I so look forward to. Everyone on this site is amazing. It's such a supportive community if people. This is an extremely valuable tool for each of us going through this experience. I think that if this site did not exist I would have been driving my surgeon's staff crazy With questions, lol. Thank you to those who have replied to my questions and shown me support. I still have a long road ahead and I'm glad to know you'll all be here. I also enjoy paying it forward and giving support & feedback to those who are just starting out. Have a great weekend everyone. This will be a memorable one for me
  4. Over 11 pounds in a week? That's great! I think the reason you feel weighed down is because you've lost so much so quickly so your body is in shock. That's why you feel so tired. That's just my guess. Were you drinking enough protein? Good thing you began your vitamins. Good Luck!
  5. I did feel more tired on the liquid diet. Towards the end you start getting used to it or it lessens. Hang in there. I've been on it since the 15th and I've lost about 15 pounds. Wish it could be more but the surgery will do that. Take naps if you can when you need to. I found I felt much better after a nap.
  6. Thanks Saddie. Good Luck to you too!
  7. My surgery had been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. The hospital is still closed, I guess, but my surgeon will perform my surgery at another hospital. It will be this Saturday. I'm a bit nervous, but still excited...I've lost about 15 pounds since the start of the liquid diet. I've got a lot more to go. I'm hoping exercise will be enough to help with loose skin. Wow! here I go!
  8. Don't they let you take Gas X or something? I read someone packed that With them on their way to the hospital. I assume they asked the doctor first. Why don't you ask? Maybe it'll give you some relief. If I talk to my doctor I'll ask too. Hope you ladies feel better soon!
  9. Wow, that's great. I'm usually tired now too I was told I could eat light but I haven't been so hungry I have my moments though where I crave carbs. It's my daughter's birthday Wednesday. I wonder if I could treat myself for just one meal. I'd like to take her out. I have to ask the nutritionist since I could be called in soon. I hope I don't get called in for Wednesday!
  10. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Are you home already?
  11. Thanks so much. I do love this site, great people here
  12. Hey, No, it was cancelled Sunday afternoon before the storm. Now I'm waiting for a new date. Within the next week or two, the surgeon said.I'm 15 pounds down since the start of my liquid diet Oct. 15th.
  13. Great! No, my hospital is still closed waiting patiently...
  14. Yep, saw the news. I wish I was closer to help. I'm in healthcare.
  15. Aww sorry. NYU generator back up failed and they had to transport patients out. Can you imagine having to do that in these conditions? I am so relieved my surgery for today was cancelled. I am also still on the liquid diet and the doctor told me that I can eat but lean, no fats or carbs. Problem is, I have nothing in stock for me except the liquid protein shakes. When I went grocery shopping this weekend, which was tough to do, not being able to eat and buying all this foid for my family... I did not stock up for me because I assumed this storm wouldn't be this bad :/ We can't go back to food now we can do this let's stick it out. I'm thinking of it as a good way to start disciplining myself to have self control. I know it's not easy trust me, the storm brings stress and stress can bring hunger but I'm sure they won't make us wait long for surgery.
  16. Lights flickering every so often. Strong winds.
  17. My surgery was postponed due to hurricane Sandy. I will receive a call on Wednesday to reschedule. So I can eat lean, no fat or carbs. I already went to the market to buy food for my family to stock up for the storm, that was a challenge! Going to the market without being able to eat is torture. I really don't have much I can eat myself here but I do have some broccoli, maybe a boiled egg and my shakes? Day by day is what I keep telling myself.
  18. Thank you and best of luck yo you too.
  19. @Sarzc, yeah I'm here wsiting for that call that it will be postponed. I am having surgery in NYU so I think they might need to shut down. They did for hurricane Irene last year. Ugh. I've been in the liquid diet for the past 2 Weeks, I've lost 8 pounds I was hoping to lose more but at this point I was really looking forward to the surgery. I have little support though, so maybe it's best if they postpone it. Just our luck, huh? Hey, let's look on the bright side at least we won't need to travel by boat to get to the hospital! lol
